Σοyfield elitists being too preoccupied with CoD kiddies for years, to notice the malignant cancer growing right under their feet.
Due to in no small part, the ad-campaigns actively antagonizing the CoD player base, creating fake beef where there was none.

As a result you'd play a BF3 where the chat was flooded by the server admins bitching about dropshots and kicking people while there was a sniper prone glitched behind cover farming potshots all game, or a max-lvl shitter with 150 hours on jet alone flying around exclusively firing at infantry the entire fucking match. Already by the middle of its lifecycle, the playerbase had to be reminded to play the fucking objective by spamming "PTFO" on the god damn screen all the time in every fucking mode with an objective. Fucking hell.

Aside from the idiotic woke marketing that tanked initial sales? There's also the everything else that made the game suck too!.
Although I will give this game credit for mostly not making the women ugly for woke points, that was genuinely surprising to me.

Because a lot of other games that try to appeal to woketards will deliberately make women in the game ugly for various stupid reasons. Although with EA I suppose you have a point about the need to make people want to buy more dumb bullshit.

The game was doomed from the start before it was announced, DICE stated that they didn't want to revisit WW2's iconic grounds as it was done before in previous titles and other game outside the series as well. So they went for lesser known events of the war, and that didn't only just include maps and battles but also the weapons too. Hence why the game's authenticity wasn't appealing for people that wanted a WW2 game.
Also, the game lacked of content since the release. It was rushed and it only took DICE 18 months to develop BFV, and it was built on BF1's codebase.

I never thought I'd see the day that Rush would be a temporary mode (even though they advertised it like a full feature).

They tried to market an alternate history game as being historically accurate and people called BS on their revisionism. Then they doubled down by attacking the gaming community for being racist and sexist and half their audience decided that they really didn't need another micro transaction online shooter.

If they'd just said in the first place that they were making a historically inaccurate alternate history game then a lot of people would have rolled with it but because they decided to be sanctimonious and full of shit their own marketing department needlessly alienated their audience.
