GameCube's handle grip would have made more sense if only the console had built in LCD screen as well like the later portable PS1 console.

that screen was an addon you had to buy. pretty sure they made one for the gamecube too, but i don't think it was official like the sony one

Just tie the power adapter, AV cables, and sensor bar together with a rubber band and you're pretty much good to go since the thing itself was super tiny and the wiimotes didn't have wires

Taking a console anywhere is a pain in the ass and always has been but it's usually a good time, I remember I got the Wii pretty close to launch and taking that anywhere was a nightmare because of the sensor bar and syncing controllers.

Gamecube had a fucking built-in handle so you could carry it. It wasn't even that heavy.

Which is a stupid feature when most people carried their consoles in a backpack.

It was always impractical when you had to think of the cables and controls also. I could neatly wrap them around my PS2 and lug them under my elbow just fine but the Gamecube ended up requiring two hands to haul around if it wasn't in a backpack.
