Patreon isn't a good thing. The monthly payment encourages prolonging as long as possible and releasing the bare minimum to appease people. It lacks the necessary things like a boss in a real job that would fire your ass if you work like a snail.
There's patreons that do stuff like "payment per release" which is more respectable but encourages releasing lots of tiny ass games. But at least stuff gets released.
