Kirby fanbase is awful though.

They go all "Woah, this thing is a supreme elder god lovecraft monster!!!!" Over a damn butterfly.

There's Heroes in another dimension mode, which is like a challenge mode that uses all the dream allies and has some final story details.
Ultimate Choice, the boss rush mode
and guest star allies which is the meta knightmare/dedede tour of this game.

Super Star Ultra is pretty great

Honestly didn't like Super star much especially after everyone hyped it up. Best game mode was revenge of meta knight and it was annoying having to play though shit like great cave offensive just to get to it and milky way wishes. Didn't like the level design much either, half the time it's a really tight corridor with a low ceiling, like what is even the point of being able to fly if that's going to be the case, and the level design in general is really maze like. The art design is also in such a way that foreground stuff can look like background stuff and vice versa, though that might be a problem that gets fixed in Super Star Ultra.

Yes I do since Ultra added a bunch of minigames, Metaknightmare Ultra and True Arena. It even let you co-op Gourmet Race. I'd say that these additions were substantial enough to count them separately.

Super Star is the Mario All-Stars of the series.

On its own, it's just mediocre. Compared to previous entries, it was lacking in terms of content and polish. Compared to other first-party series getting brand new Switch games, it's pretty bad.

Now that all the DLC content is finished it's still mediocre.

It was pretty mediocre and honestly not that memorable at launch, but the free updates did give it more of an identity. I personally thought this helped the game improve, but the degree of improvement varies.
My problem is that Robobot had similar problems and was never altered but still got excessive praise.

The only notable things about Star Allies at this point are that it has the hardest true arena and Hyness was an interesting antagonist

Robobot was designed for a handheld and feels complete. Star Allies was built from the ground up for a new system and can't even run properly, plus it obviously launched incomplete.

It isn't bad. It's just a very basic and safe entry. After shit like Odyssey, BotW, and even Xenoblade 2.
It's the 4th game in the RtDL style and doesn't do a lot differently. Being "balanced" to 4 player madness, some of the tightness in both puzzles, level design, and bosses is lost. In comparison to things like Dedede World Tour or Meta Knightmare: Robobot edition, you only had Guest Star Allies which was just a fucking boring grind.
The difficulty and post-game only came with the DLC. It was an unfinished product at launch, and while the DLC got back to about standard content (for free) while providing a lot of fanservice with the Dream Friends, it still falls flatter than RtDL and PR.
PR probably has the most hype climax in the series and that carries a lot because a strong finish leaves a better impression.
