Fuck no it’s shit, 3DS is shit.
The best version is original release because it was intended with a fixed camera
God I fucking hate elitists who think “original and hard = good”
I remember being astounded that MGS3 was on 3DS then I saw the fucking framerate.
citra
port it to PC please I hate going trough PCSX2
Imagine being this wrong.
The ports are bad, PCSX2 or you're missing out.
>it was intended
Yeah, because something can't be revised. No, first release it's always the definitive one.
Original is unplayable trash, if Kojima or anyone else thought Subsistance wasn't the definitive version then they wouldn't have used that version for every remaster and re-release ever since
The PS2 is the only version that has proper Subsistence.
Subsistence is the best version, you idiot.
>The 3ds version is shit, because of the framerate
>Play the original PS2 version with shit framerate AND shit fixed camera angles instead
The fuck
>10 fps battle with The Fury
Makes the PS2 version look smooth
How's the PS3 port via the HD collection?
Wait, how the fuck is this the best version of MGS3 at all? Did you even play the HD edition?
It sounds like you never touched that version at all. No, the loss of 3D when big boss loses his eye doesn't make it the best version, it still has a really stuttery framerate and a lower resolution than even the PS2 version.
Why are people like this?
It's pretty good
Inferior
No Dream sequence minigame
No Secret theater
No Boss Rush
No Ape Escape
Damn shame
There's an HD re-release for xbox 360 and PS3 that fixes all of your complaints. That's the best version of the game.
>Original is unplayable trash
wtf are you talking about
i fucking hate faggots who weren't around for the initial golden release and are stuck hating on those who were because all they have today makes them bitter and jaded
fuck you faggot
The HD collection is missing a lot of shit from all three games including but if it's your only way to play them or you only want to experience the story again then they're pretty much flawless. They run smoothly, look great and play like a dream (unless you're playing the shitty Vita versions).
Same can be said for the 3DS so I don't know why OP thinks the 3DS version is the best. This is probably a bait thread.
i wish. aiming on the 3DS version with the face buttons always sucked.
Original has fixed camera angles because MGS2 also had them and it's one of the biggest blunders Kojima has made when it comes to gameplay in his games.
Subsistence fixed the issue and made the game 10000x times better and it's the version everyone plays and remembers.
I have the PS2 releases as well as the HD collection. They've been in my backlog for years. Still need to play 1 as well.
>Pause menu's the game
MGS2 is better fuck 3.
>shitty vita version
Even though it runs and looks better then the 3ds version?
>implying it's not the oldfags that shit up every thread defending objective trash just because it was the version they played 15 years ago
They're both trash, just skip handhelds when it comes to MGS3 unless they release it on the Switch someday
I would recommend the HD collection just because it's much more comfortable to play (i would not say the missing content from the originals is essential in any way)
I played the original at release and have never played subsistence
3DS version doesn't even come with MG1 and 2 even though at most both games wouldn't even add to 10 MB on the cart
The PS2 version emulated is superior.
>no cut content
>60fps patch
>1080p or higher
>only version with proper shading, remasters have botched shading
No it isn't, because for some reason it runs like ass didloes on PCSX2 unless you have an i9. Also no widescreen and you still have that shitty pressure sensitive bullshit that doesn't work on 360 controllers, so you have to map to the keyboard.
It works for me. Some FPS drops but all versions have them. PCSX2 has the least amount however.
There is widescreen and you can use a DS3.
I played the demo of it and thought it was good and then bought the HD version for ps3 and was surprised that the controls were so bad.
>codec convo the game
fuck yourself with a rusted nail
>Some FPS drops
They get really bad, though, and this is across multiple processors and settings. The bluepoint remaster is pretty stable in terms of framerate, and it runs at 60 almost at all times. Also, as far as I know, using a DS3 on PC works by emulating it as an x360 controller, so the pressure sensitive buttons still don't work.
Go fuck yourself, you faggot nigger. Fixed camera MGS is the only MGS.
please give me a port that doesn't have the garbage chunkly pressure sensitive controls already.
You clearly haven't played it on PS3 if you think it holds 60fps. And no, you can get your pressure sensitive buttons on PCSX2.
>You clearly haven't played it on PS3 if you think it holds 60fps.
I have and can confirm a stable 60fps pretty much the whole time except from some visually busy parts like The Fury fight and the Shagohod escape scene.
No you haven't or you're just dumb enough to think sub 60fps is 60fps.
Shut up dumb nincel
I had this, the framerate and controls..i wanted to like it since playing on ps2. Konami in how they h8 it considering the recent castlevania&contra collections, to plz have a mgs collection. Inb4 gotta have it on n.switch.
>I have and can confirm a stable 60fps pretty much the whole time

Peace walker style mgs3 is a cool concept and i agree that it really shouldn't have been a 3ds exclusive but it makes the game piss easy since the game wasn't made for the mobility the peace walker style gives you
That's true, I played it on 360 and it felt pretty stable overall.
That only makes the PS2 version looks worse, really.
Can anyone give reasons why the 3DS port is considered good? All I know is that they have unique updated models for some characters
Type normal, you piece of shit.
Who is saying it didn't run like shit?
Because it has this neat easter egg where you lose the 3D effect when big boss loses his eye. Also there's a crouch-walk stance. But the shortcomings overwhelm these features.
there's no reason it's good
The topic is which version is the best overall. Judging from the video there, it's probably the 360 version, at least in terms of stability. I also like how they implemented the controls without the pressure-sensitive crap.
Of course, if Konami had a brain, they'd release the HD collection on PC. But that's never going to happen, as it would involve paying bluepoint to port it.
It's PCSX2.
You were already told why it isn't, stop arguing in circles.
The fuck are you talking about?
No pressure sensitive controls, 30 FPS lock, the game is notably stuttery on PCSX2. This is the last reply you get about this.
>loses 3D when he loses his eye
wait, like the entire effect stops working? That's actually pretty cool
None of this is true you sperglord. Play with a PS2/3 controller, use the 60fps code, and upgrade your PC. The 360 version runs at 720pleb and has missing content.
>It's the best because it has casual shit like crouch walk
>nintendo hardware
>best multiplatform version
>20 fps
lol
ZOE2 is on PC but not MGS3, makes no sense.
What makes it the best version?
Third person controls
yoshi
Missing content doesn't make it a bad game retard
Stereoscopic 3D boobs
It runs at 20 and below.
Has some shit gyro sections where you have to balance the 3DS around
Has that same shaky camera effect that peace walker that makes things worse.
The second screen becomes pointless because the game pauses anyway for any kind of management.
I only beat it once and it was a chore I only own it because I'm a sucker for MGS3 and I needed to complete my collection.
My Ryzen 1700 ran 60FPS all the time except for two cutscenes, one with Volgin lightning and the other when Snake looks out at the area holding the Shagohod on a cliff. Not a deal breaker and you can map the pressure sensitive buttons to the 360's triggers MGSV-styled.
