2019...
I am...
Forgotten...

How so? I don't think about mine on like a daily basis but I am in no rush to upgrade.

got a 1080(not ti) and its been letting me max out new releases
not sure what your point is op

I have a 1660 Ti and it's pretty good. I wish it was either $250 or had 8GB at the current price, but it's sitll pretty good value.

mine was $270

I play at 1080p 240hz. It's nice because I will never have to worry about GPU, just CPU. Which is much cheaper.

>2019
>Rarely gets plotted against new cards because it keeps up with them and displays gross market stagnation
>Keeps up with or still beats new AMD offerings that approach the launch price of the 1080

Nah man if you bought one at launch you made one of the wisest purchases in years and will be safe for several more to come

Yeah i saw it already dipped $10 under MSRP for some models. I bought mine at release and the model has since gone up in price, so I'm not mad.

full retard

the 1080TI can do RTX so I'm told, I use mine to surf 4channel, but how RTX performs on a 1080TI I am also told is not as good as a card made for it

Really really badly

I've got a 1080ti and can get a silky smooth 60fps on Quake II RTX at 800x600

As long as ray tracing is a meme a 1080ti will cut it for new releases, not like anything really makes it max out.

What?

>He doesnt have an RTX

what the fuck are you talking about

It's usually the opposite.

Low-resolution high-refresh-rate gaming is heavily CPU dependent. Go turn down your favorite game to 640p and watch the CPU utilization shoot up and the GPU utilization plummet.

You can comfortably game at 240hz on a GTX 1060

You don't know what you're talking about.

240hz 1080p is the exact same pixels/second as 4k 60fps

im waiting for 2nd or 3rd gen rtx to upgrade. my 1080 is still perfect for 1080p

no you dumb

That's right, but low resolutions lean far more heavily on CPU than GPU.

Go start up your favorite game and set it to 4k 60fps, measure CPU & GPU utilization, then set it to 1080p 240fps and do the same.

See

RTX seems good but there's still a lot of room for improvement, maybe gonna get a 30 series depending on the performance

> Looks barely better than Half Life 2

money well spent

No, pixel throughout is the same at 1080p/240 and 4K/60 so your GPU has to do the same amount of work.

The CPU just has to do more work at 240hz because it has a quarter the time to update for each frame.

>buying a stripped down 1070 when you could have a 1070ti off ebay for the same price and gain 20% performance

I honestly feel bad for anyone who got scammed with RTX/1660s. Hope you learn your lesson bro.

I actually have a super strict TDP limit, so the 1070 Ti wouldn't have worked.

>he pays more than $0.0972 per kWh

There are also seemingly many games that do a lot of calculations on the CPU and won't reach high GPU utilization no matter what.

Okay, but you're get roughly the same GPU utilization at 1080/240 an 4k/60 if your CPU isn't the bottleneck.

Same. No reason to upgrade.

I tried this just now in overwatch and went from 60% GPU at 1080p/250hz to 100% at 4k/60hz, so there are probably other factors

>mfw still rocking a rx480
>which i sniped for the $190 launch price mistake before cryptogooks

Yeah, im pretty based when it comes to PC parts.

Your current rtx card will be obsolete in about a year if you bought it for ray tracing. It can barely do a good job of it now and the hand full of current games with ray tracing don't even fully utilize the technology.

Based and redpilled. Fuck poorfags.

No thanks, when I upgrade I plan on going higher than 1080p.

>mid tier graphics card

Console gaming might be a better fit for you.

why would i buy 2 of every console? not even xbox is that unreliable.

nice drawing
