GTX 1080ti performance for $399.
It's exactly what you asked for a few months ago.
Enjoy.
GTX 1080ti performance for $399
1080ti performance should be no more than $250 right now
Should be doesn't mean is. Cheapest on ebay are $400 if you include shipping
>radeon house fires
I'll pass
>1080 Ti release date March 10, 2017
Damn... two and a half year old card soon.
Is that the AMD 5200XL?
Why is it bent?
why is it bent?
The cooler is crap.
Wait for a non-reference card and it is quite fine.
FUCK CRYPTONIGGERS.
It was on vent.
was it spent?
blow it out your ass
Any of you own one of these? Planning to get one for a Hackintosh/Gaming build since I only have 60Hz 1080p monitors. Need opinions.
>housefires
tempted, but I have an expensive G-sync monitor, so I'll probably be getting a 2070 super instead.
Youre not getting it however. Graphics havent improved at all and every single frame you blow money on goes to technical debt instead of graphics. Best looking game on the market, Battlefront 2 runs on 960 with 60 FPS/ultra settings and is 2 years old.
Youre a literal cuck, paying more to cover for shitty programming. I bet you pay for your games as well
No thanks, I'd rather purchase exorbitant amounts of lego star wars.
What's with the dent
Or get a 2060 super for similar performance without the housefire
>No review is talking about Radeon image Sharpening, which is a black magic upscale that makes your games rendered at 1440p looks like they're native 4K, if not better, actually
I'm fucking getting a Navi when we'll be graced with aftermarket cooler cards.
I own a 580, which I hear is basically the same. No problem so far. Not sure about hackintosh compatibility, though.
lol nvidia
>Not sure about hackintosh compatibility, though
Everything from AMD is plug-and-play
It's the lack of cooling that makes the Navi a fucking flaming inferno. Try again when partner cards fix them.
>they missed it
thats really sad actually since its a 7nm card.
just use an RX580 it plays all the games
You got your memes backwards, poser.
CryptoChads dabbing on videogame nerds
Are reference cards with a different cooler as good as the third party ones with their own cooler? I'm thinking about buying a reference 5700 XT and one of those Arctic cooler mods.
>LOL youtube compression
I'm wanting to try it. How is ryzen doing?
yeah but i'd rather get youtube.com
>How is ryzen doing?
Absolutely not worth the hassle.
Bah. Guess not, then.
only after the new consoles launch
>going to Yea Forums for tech advice and anecdotal evidence
do yourself a favor and look up results for software you'll actually use before you buy anything
>c-compression
DLSS blurs the textures, this isn't some made-up AMDrone narrative.
A bit fucking late
You're only proving me right. All the AMD cards are above their competition bar 5700XT
nice bait, not with the equivalent of 2GB onboard RAM
What the fuck are you even talking about you retard? That card has 8gb of GDDR6.
Not worth it. They are just an overclocked 580.
>vega
power draw tests are totally pointless on these gpus because they can take between 150-400w depending on what you are doing with them. think GN did a full retard overclock mod and hit 250% power limit just fine. cards are made of adamantium
Typically a 56 draws 180w
>1080ti performance
i find that a bit hard to believe
SEE THAT SUPER CUNT
FLYING THROUGH THE AIR
HE'S RUINING GAMING AND THE ECONOMY
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>irony
mfw I bought a 1080ti off amazon for $399 in August of last year.
Can't decide what's the worst fucking gimmick, RTX or 4k.
It's already fucking melting.
I just want a new rx580/1060, i can only afford 199$ for a new card
This dent in the card is the ugliest design choice I've seen in a while.
I'm waiting for the non-blower models.
>card runs hotter than the sun
I bet you trust every ad you see
it uses 10 (ten) more watts than the RTX 2070 super. 225 vs 215.
But I already have an RTX 2080
Buying used isn't a meme anymore. You can easily shave $100+ off MSRP by buying used locally or through ebay.
that 5 second hivemind
Used 1070ti my dude
If true, fucking nice my man.
poorfag detected
used is a massive fucking meme bro, always double check the seller isn't a chink or cryptonigger.
there are a ton of fake nvidia gpus on the market from chinese scammers. the take old gpus and bios mod them to display 1060 ids
I got my 1080ti from a friend for $300. Guess I win.
dented during shipping
just get an rx 580, why bother with a 590?
Deal worked, then received an email from Staples stating "
We would like to inform you that your Staples order number 9801093654 will not be processed due to an issue with the coupon(s) applied. Staples reserves the right to cancel an offer or order at any time for any reason."
AMD would get in serious trouble if they proclaimed that their new cards had 2gb GDDR6 instead of 8gb, that is literally false advertising. You dense retard.
kek
this is why i still come here
no excuse not to undervolt when it's well documented for reference blowers and popular aftermarket cards. Takes 20 minutes of tweaking/benching and if you can't be fucked to do that there's an auto undervolt button in radeon settings. Got my pulse down to stock navi.
Imagine cucking yourself this hard and then throwing good money after bad.
Dunno if I'm allowed to post this here.
youtube.com
>$50 more for worse performance
Technology is embarrasing right now. At this point I should have an tiny SoC with the power of a 2012 high-end computer.
But we don't because technology is fucking garbage.
*Embarrassing
>The cooler is crap
Only GAYMERS who OC mommy and daddys card care about this.
My reference 1080ti is still in perfect condition while my friends water cooled 1080ti is already artifacting
I will once a not shit cooler is slapped onto it.
Isn't the 1660 selling at that price? Or I am going nuts?
What hassle? Lol arguably better than intel when price is considered.
Too bad I just bought a 2079 for my first rig a few months ago
Nvidia reference coolers are a completely different thing.
Those AMD cards use a bunch of stupid tricks, and some of em don't work very well.
Oh well I'll make do with the Radeon VII I bought and haven't installed yet.
>Buy RX5700XT
>It's hot, loud, and doesn't perform as well as I thought it would
>Tell Newegg it was damaged in shipping and send them a picture
>Full refund
blind nigger
>spends hundreds on a GPU for gayming
>gets a blower
>housefires from a gpu.
Youre more likely to win the lottery.
Don't see a reason to upgrade from my 1070 yet (I'm still at 1080/60). The new Ryzen lineup is very tempting though, that 3700x has some crazy performance.
Yeah, if you have a 1070/1080/1080ti there is zero reason to upgrade unless you plan on playing at 4k.
And even if you have a 570/580/1060 there is very little reason to upgrade if you are just gonna keep playing at 1080p.
ouch nvidia
AMD shills, GET THE FUCK OUT!
> People in here bought the 4K meme for desktop monitor gaming
Big mega yikes
2060 is a meme card
but they already gave something even better
Why the fuck are people still buying reference cards?
You should know the blower blows ass
I got a gtx 480 day one and it lasted me all the way through 7th gen. Should I wait until we're 3 years into 9th gen to build a new pc?
>no ray tracing
>will be out dated when PS5 launches with ray tracing
Enjoy being scammed you mean?
>PS5 launches with ray tracing
Who do you think is gonna make the PS5 GPU you retard?
Hint: It's not Nvidia.
ps5 will use ray tracing, the 5700 is a scam
>PS5 will have no dedicated RT cores
>They think they can do RT with the "cloud"
>Modern RT core cards are just tech demo benches that need about 5 more years to mature the tech and product line
El Oh EL
The RX 580 is the one that doubled in price during the crypto boom, retarded frog poster
How the fuck do retards like this manage to survive day to day life?
>1080 Ti performance
>in select AMD optimised titles
>ps5 will use ray tracing, the 5700 is a scam
I ask you again, who do you think is gonna make the PS5 GPU?
Hint:
PS5 will use the newer RDNA gpu's from AMD, 5700 is the first generation & you are basically paying for a prototype
1080ti is all u need. just get a AMD cpu tho. intel is full cuck mode at the moment
You've got me burnin'
You've got me burnin'
You've got me burnin' in the third degree
>posting samples
holy shit phonefags should be gassed
They were selling them on Amazon for $160. I grabbed one myself last month. I wouldnt pay more than that if I were you or just go cheaper with a 580 if you stick with 1080p gaming.
Staples recently had the asus and msi 2080 for $400 and the ti for $780. Graphic cards going cheaper if you want to hold out.
post the version with pubes
How exactly is Sony going to implement that when the next iteration of Navi is still on the drawing board? The GPU in the ps5 will be based on the current generation of Navi, which is the 5700, 5700xt and Radeon 7.
It's not worth your time user. You wont convince retards that some half baked software based RT solution isn't retarded.
Not sure I get the point of your screenshot. I do however see a schizo intelshill on suicide watch tho
You aren't being subtle.
Subtle about what? 5700xt beating 2070 super for $100 less?
>5700xt beating 2070 super
Yeah, enjoy buying a 200€ card in 2016 for 300€ in 2018
No, it's 2019 and I expect 1080ti performance for $180 or less.
Delusional or desperate, I cant tell which.
sue for false advertising
It's not even about OCing to me, those blower cards are annoyingly loud.
i think you mean 480 since the 580 didnt exist for over a year and was just a 480 with a 10% overclock for $300
i got a 480 at launch for $200, sold it for $450 because the first batch had samsung vram and got a 1070 before shitcoins moved onto Nvidia mining. AMD literally paid me to buy Nvidia.
balls of steel
Only 5db higher than nvidia. That may as well be negligible.
AMD has a great 65 or 75W TDP CPU. But what's the GPU equivalent of that?
>blower
no thanks
pc nerds never cease to amaze me, you could have a ps4 and switch for the price of a graphics card, only virgins will care about the slight upgrade stuffed into the corner of their bedroom. Chads will be in one of their living rooms getting blown while playing their console. btfo pc virgins, don't (you) me with your seething faggotry
5 db is noticeable, especially if you're in a quiet room.
I completely stopped buying ATI like in 2012 because of the terrible drivers, did it change since?
This is the mid to high end which is mostly enthusiast level anyway. Most people can get away with paying $150 for console performance.
Great. Now I can play Yea Forums in HD
>it took almost 3 years for AMD to match the performance of 1080 ti.
pretty sad
My R9 390 is still going strong, abeit I need to get a new card after 6 years of having it. I might get the 2070 super simply cause I can.
blower GPUs are trash.
WHIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Yes. In fact AMD is arguably better now.
the price of 5700 xt is higher than its predecessor. bad decision. oh well, AMD fanbois are falling for this meme becuase they are too stupid as fuck.
Yeah, AMD got rid of the garbage catalyst control center(and gaming evolved) and replaced it with the far superior radeon settings.
still about 10% in games that aren't specifically made to be better on AMD, where they're about equal.
as someone who doesnt see acts of blowjob during vidya with console bros as chad because i fell out of love with my gf, i agree. pc nerds btfo
Is the 1660 Ti the best card right now for 1080p?
It's basically a 1070 with lower power consumption, right?
From what I've heard they had some shit called "Fine wine" where performance/stability improved over time.
Huh? The Vega 64 was $500 and the VII is $700.
If you do it at the store, you will get it easily.
Youtube your favorite game and see the benchmarks for card recommendation
the only reason you'd get a blower is to strip it off and mount a water block
unless you are full retard sticking a high end gpu into a ITX case.
I'm running on a GTX 780 and still don't see much incentive to upgrade. Nothing new out there worth playing that it can't handle
Only problem it says Radeon on there.
My 1080 Ti runs just fine in my Ncase
Anything is noticeable in a quiet room.
>t. retarded snoygger
not what I meant
Both look terrible desu.
Amazing how PS4 beats this so easily.
You realize when PS4 came out they were using AMD's last gen GPUs right? Consoles aren't bleeding edge anymore especially the last gens.
it is a pure meme.
Is there even a difference? You’re all arguing over the most subtle bullshit at this point.
I can't tell what to upgrade first, GPU or monitor.
I wanna say GPU because the cryptonigger threat always looms?
Monitor is a cheapo 1080p IPS and GPU is a 6GB 1060
Its alright. I got it when it was 200$.
this. i know it's not the same, but i got an rx580 8gb for $250 last year. i get that nvidia is in higher demand, but come on.
GPUs are designed to last 3 years. This is done by changing the way they calculate shit every generation.
If you get more than 3 years life from it, good for you. Your 3+yo card is still obsolete by design and shit in any new game because it can't run calculations in the new format.
>have a $1200 gaming PC
>only use it to emulate PS2 and PS3 games at 720p resolution
I fell for the PC meme.
Not even plugged in and melted already.
Look at the textures on the tank
post your spec or you are retarded
>2070s gets 2(TWO) more FPS in a Nvidia optimized title
>It costs $100(ONE HUNDRED) DOLLARS MORE
Ok.
your GPU can already run games at max at 1080p 60fps, so there's zero point getting a better graphics card without upgrading your monitor first.
Drivers are fine, but they're still worse than Nvidia drivers when launched.
Not buggy, just less optimized. Generally 1-2 year after release and AMD cards get performance boosts due to better drivers.
It'll last a few years longer than any AMD card too.
>Witcher 3
>AMD optimized
You know The Witcher 3 has Nvidia's GameWorks, right?
The fact that the radeon 7 could do tie with a 1080ti in a gameworks title is impressive.
How are they getting gimped?
Then emulate at 1080p retard
Well until I upgrade my monitor, I can use 4K SSAA to 1080p.
Not too mention that the AMD cards are getting better miniums, which mean less stuttering all around.
No, lol.
>RTX 2080
>8gb
wat
Not an argument.
>Buy an expensive tool set
>Only use the hammer
Wow
Your mouse cursor, powered by Radeon drivers
topkek. my friend's does it like that. That's why I didn't fall for AMD meme.
Your monitor, powered by Nvidia.
AMD dropped GCN for RDNA. A lot of the "fine wine" comes from 290 to the 580 has all been based on GCN architecture. So expect all GCN cards to lose support (just like all TeraScale based cards got dropped support during that time) and all RDNA cards to get better over time.
Thats a gameworks exclusive space invader minigame.
A lot of people forget that these expensive parts are also used for things like video editing and rendering, and many more resource intensive things besides vidya. If someone is looking to only play vidya, and if they're like you and they're not interested in current games, they can get by on cheaper, mid range hardware.
Oh, i see now. Does that mean that other picture was just a Radeon exclusive Snake minigame?
>still using SLI 970s on a 1080p/144Hz monitor
>still playing everything a-okay
It's nice, I gotta tell ya. Maybe I'll upgrade when Cyberpunk inevitably runs shittily for me.
>tfw getting a 590 in a week
>tfw nintendo bans my 3ds
this is Yea Forums
the smash bros and eceleb board
you may want /g/
the linux and anti microsoft board
Not really
AMD parts are still more buggy than Nvidia & Intel, Journey has issues on Ryzen CPU's for example & you have to disable the online play to fix it
Okay, serious question, what the fuck are consolefags actually playing?
I have an Xbone (got for free) and a Switch, and aside from DQB, Mario Odyssey, and Splatoon 2 I play literally EVERYTHING on my PC.
Oh, and some indie game about ninja bunnies since it was $0.99 on the eShop.
Like seriously, I feel like I fell for a meme, what the fuck are consolefags actually playing aside from games that are better on my PC?
They're playing the latest FIFA, CoD, Battlefield, and Madden.
>Games like Yakuza Kiwami 2 are already maxxing out my 1060 6 gb
Fuck bros, I only upgraded to it a year ago.
AMD said the same thing with GCN. You just fell for AMD meme. Silly
I guarantee you were warned about purchasing the 1060 6gb over the 580 8gb yet you bought it anyway.
how is kiwami 2? i liked the first one and i sold my ps4 like 6 months ago
>buying used video cards
Enjoy your raped to hell mining card.
>I bought a full price 1080 when it came out.
uuuuuuuuuuuuu
my cope is that it hasn't failed, runs great and my last card was a 560 gtx and before that was like a 8400gs so my mind was blown
I wasn't
Really good, better than Kiwami 1 in almost every way, but it's pretty damn unoptimized.
>oh no he's 100% choking instead of only 99%.
He should've gone for 1070ti or Vega since you can find them for even cheaper.
>wasted money on a 1080 near launch
>don't care for most new games
At some point I should drink bleach.
i still don't care. amd gpus are garbage.
and no, it doesn't have 1080ti preformance for $400. that would mean they are selling their gpus at a loss and would go bankrupt.
fuck off shill
stop using unoptimized as buzzword, it's just a demanding game, it only runs at 1080p on ps4 pro
>that would mean they are selling their gpus at a loss and would go bankrupt.
The meme was always that Nvidia caused fires.
You didn't make an argument.
AMD cards always age better from my experience. See what the mad lads are doing with Vega still.
Meanwhile 1080 cards are all but dusty at this point.
>amd gpus are garbage.
Nuh-uh not anymore.
about same. maybe there is a tiny improvement.
My friend is not happy with his Vega 64 because he has to find the right driver to run the old game, and then revert the another right driver to play the selected old games. I experienced it before. It was bullshit, so I pay an extra premium for Nvidia. This helps me not to deal with that AMD bullshits. The nvidia is all about "... it just werks..." I can play all games (old and new) no problem. Very smooth, relaxed experience.
My friend is considering to buy 2070 S or 2080 S. Interesting outcome.
Okay, it doesn't look as good as it should for how much processing power it takes, is that better?
Nice engrish, Poojeet.
>doesn't know what mining is
user, mining has negligible effects on GPU's. You'd upgrade way before you'd ever be confronted with the effects of use.
buttcoin mining on GPUs is dead anyway and has been for some time. Only reason the prices are still high is because nvidia are a bunch of kikes and are trying to gaslight people into thinking that the ballooned bitcoin-mania-era prices are the new standard rather than a passing disruption.
>1080ti
>not 2080ti
Based Lisa
To be fair, I think it's more of an engine issue, none of the Dragon Engine games are particularly amazing visually speaking yet they struggle to maintain 1080p30 on the PS4 Pro and struggle to maintain 1440p60 on an R9 Fury/GTX 980 Ti despite looking about as good as Battlefield 4.
You can literally look left and see better textures in that very same image
>meme tracing
lmao. Does it have blast processing as well?
I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU/GPU soon. Would a Ryzen 3600 and a 1660ti be good enough for a while? Especially if I consider upgrading to a 1440p/144hz monitor down the line?
Not everything you can't afford is a meme.
The game ran at almost the exact same FPS maxxed out as it did with all settings at minimum, the only thing that would elicit an FPS decrease was downscaling the resolution. I dunno what the hell is up with the Dragon Engine.
True, but raytracing certainly is a meme, at least right now in its current form.
This reminds me of the early 2010s and how everyone was claiming physx was going to be the big new thing, lel
>forza horizon 4
You'd need more than a 1660ti for 1440p at 144hz. A vega 56/1070ti is the minimum.
My nigga. Same card. Boss price matched some weird website for 200.
Cant complain.
cope harder
You're sure you're not using supersampling the game aka downsampling from 3840x2160 to 1920x1080, or worse from 8k to 4k like some reviewers did.
At this die size it's likely about $30 more expensive to manufacture than a Polaris card. They aren't selling at a loss by a long shot. The only thing they did was move their margins up significantly. Here's a video if you want to understand the price fixing Nvidia and AMD have been engaging in since 2011.
Hey guys, PC bro here, I have an ASUS laptop from 2012 with an Intel i5 and a broken screen which means I must use it HDMI connected to my tv. What are the hot new games for a man like me to play?
I'm not retarded, so no.
The game just doesn't run that well m8, this is Kiwami 2 we're talking about, not Yakuza 0.
What am i supposed to be coping with exactly? The fact that i don't live in country where people literally poop on the street?
rent free
>PC gaming
>laptop
Faggot
is this real?
What does "move their margins up significantly" mean? And don't bully me.
Damn, and that would probably only last a short time before needing to upgrade again after the next-gen-equivalent games start coming out.
In that case I'll probably still stick with getting a 1660ti, but hold off on considering upgrading from 1080p/60hz (which is still perfectly acceptable to me, tbqh). Maybe I'll upgrade the GPU and get a better monitor a few years later after prices have gone down.
A margin is cost of manufacture compared to MSRP. Cards like RX 480 had a fairly low margin. 5700 as the true successor to Polaris has a much higher margin as the manufacture cost is similar to Polaris and will only get better depending on yields but the price is much higher.
Maybe look into getting a 1080p 144hz-240hz monitor if you really do want to get into high refresh rate gaming without breaking the bank.
>you could have two pieces of useless garbage for the price of a graphics card
Very impressive.
whats the card?
1080 ti came out 2 years ago.
>March 10, 2017
Why are we pretending like the 1080ti performance is nothing nowadays? It was Nvidia's flagship gaming GPU. AMD matching that card with a new architecture and low power consumption is a pretty good sign.
>I'm too poor to properly enjoy my hobbies beyond a superficial level
The problem there is it would still just feel like a stepping stone, so it wouldn't be worth it because some time after that I'd still want to upgrade to 1440p/144hz, meaning I'd be buying 2 expensive monitors over that time period. Sort of like people who upgraded to 720p and then again to 1080p instead of just getting the 1080p and not wasting money on the 720p middleman.
here you go user, you deserve it
Drivers are fine now in general now but they still have issues with drivers at release.
Ok I get it. Thanks.
Fuck. I 've been on a 1070 since it came out. When the fuck will we see cards that double performances again without doubling cost? Maxwell and pascal.
>ati
into the trash it goes
6-18 months after PS5 launch is the earliest you can expect any form of "competition" to return to the GPU sector and it's probably going to consist of big navi 7nm house fires and more RTX fuckery.
Have that exact GPU. It's as good as a GTX1070, but not better and in some cases worse. Still a solid GPU. I bought mines for $190 a couple of months ago.
In fairness 0 was meant to be played on PS3s and ported to powerful hardware later. Dragon Engine though is very demanding on CPUs I assume, especially the PS4's, really makes me wonder how the PS5 could handle it.
Meanwhile they sell sony the 5700 xt for $100, were getting ripped off
nvidia & amd being greedi is gonna hurt pc gaming
Here's the part that stings even more. Navi's RND was pretty much paid for by Sony in the first place and they aren't going to need to premium silicon due to needing to run lower clocks and temps because of the form factor. AMD is shitting all over the mid and low range market that kept it afloat alone.
>Meanwhile they sell sony the 5700 xt for $100
Considering the state of Navi TDP and thermals, the PS5/Xbox Deuce may not even have RX 5700 tier GPUs.
More interested in the new Ryzens. Already made the dummy purchase for a 2060 XC
Which card to upgrade to?
You have to keep in mind that Nvidia and AMD have a duopoly are and are currently cooperating with price-fixing, which is illegal, although nothing will ever be done about it. So they work together and agree not to compete on price, so that both their prices remain high and we get fucked over.
And that's also why they're able to give really good deals outside the standard market to players like sony.
get a cheap rx 570 with that build if you have that slowpoke 1080 60hz monitor
and install windows 10 because they've optimized first gen ryzen in the latest builds
Already got a Win 10 key, just used Win 7 for now because a friend had a disk from work. Would a RX570 run the Xbox game pass well?
>and install windows 10
what if I don't want to join the NSA botnet. Asking for a friend.
>3gb vram
Sure thing, bud.
Well then enjoy your gimped performance
so no solution?
>windows 7 also has telemetry
>most likely using Chrome/Firefox/Edge to post on Yea Forums which uses the google captcha system
You're already apart of the botnet brother.
>Would a RX570 run the Xbox game pass well?
what?
if you're asking me if it can run xbox one games ofc it can
the card is twice as fast as your 750ti
Pre-ordered last Christmas for £250 with the triple game bundle so well worth the price for performance. As long as your processor isn't shaft and you've got decent amount of ram you can max any game at 60fps.
4K
4K is a meme
>hardware AA and DPI is a meme
bruv
You could buy a 5700 and free sync monitor for less than a 2070
Is a meme
indeed it is. Especially on consoles where people are falling for the meme even harder and getting excited for their silky smooth 4k,30fps experience, 4k is just pissing away your money and processing power, especially if you don't sit with your eyeball glued to the screen. Much better use of that extra power to pursue better framerates instead.
On a regular desktop monitor 4K is a mega meme
>hardware AA
You can super sample at 1440p
Gonna ride 1080p gaming forever.
holy cope
>gta v
>skyrim
>still being used as benchmarks
Neither of these games are demanding..the 3.5 970 and a i5 3700 could max gta v
That looks like garbage. Enjoy halving your framerate or whatever for some placebo pixels.
It's stupid easy to Hackintosh, what are you talking about?
4K for gaming is just objectively a waste of processing power.
>30fps
loool
>AMD matching that card with a new architecture and low power consumption is a pretty good sign.
Not just that, but they're matching Turing's IPC now - all while on a much smaller die. Thermals are still somewhat of a problem, but if they wanted, they could pretty much build a nuclear reactor like the R7 again and compete with the 2080Ti now.
>placebo pixels.
grass. Once you leave the city it's like the game jumps a technical gen it's crazy.
> Jumps a technical gen
More cope from the resolutiontards
imagine killing your framerate just so for microscopic improvements in visual fidelity only visible if playing on a 32" screen a foot from your face.
Anything more than 1440p is nothing but a placebo pill
I like how it comes pre-melted.
>calls others coping
>plays his 4K game at 30fps
>b-b-but it gets better elsewhere i-its j-just a really intensive area, I s-swear...
give me a gpu that can play all new games at 4k 144fps for the next 5 years and I'll consider
they can't. If you fall for the high-res + high-refresh meme you'll be sucked into jewvidia's trap and be forced to constantly be upgrading from one $1000 dollar card to the next every 2 years.
zoomy boy
4k 30fps is not the way to play games on PC right now
get a proper 1440p 144hz monitor
4k screens are laggy and pushing that many pixels will tank for fps most GPUs struggle at that resolution
>4k 144fps
2 years at least
No CPU nor GPU can run any current AAA games at 4K144.
>unironically defending playing at 4k with massive framerate dips
toplel, m8. This is exactly what I'd expect from the sort of brainlet who chooses 4k/60hz over 1440p/144hz
Pretty sure if a CPU can do 144hz at all then it can do 4k 144hz
2080ti Super NVlink might do that.
GPUs alone would probably cost you $2400.
I would but apparently windoze can't handle multi Hz environments
hurrr
>year and a half since the memecoin bubble ended
>long past the point where GPU mining is at all viable
>prices still at their memecoin inflated levels
I'll wait for a cooling option that isn't retarded
JUST FUCKING BUY IT
Not necessarily. 1440p144 is less demanding on the CPU than 4k144. It's not linear scaling and eventually the GPU bottleneck outstrips the CPU one, but higher res still means the CPU has to process more instructions for the GPU due to how APIs work. Vulkan theoretically should help with that but lol. Rarely does.
Not to mention some older games will never run properly at those framerates at all due to poor threading.
*WHIRRRRR*
Not again! Help me AMD!
Trump smacking Chyna with tariffs probably didn't help with that also.
AMD moved all of their production to Taiwan which is probably the smart thing to do long term.
I think prices will come down in general after the new consoles are released.
t. jewvidia
Somebody shill me a card. I’ve been on a laptop for years and I want something cutting edge for once. I’m willing to wait up to 3 months but not more or it’s gona be an eternal game of always waiting for the next big thing while I could be enjoying current stuff now.
What card should you buy now with unlimited budget but that actually deserves its price?
1080ti
2080Ti seems like it's gonna be around the top for a while
i have a 970 and an i5 and a 4k monitor and i can confirm that this is complete BS
1080Ti if you can find it from a trusted reseller
Alternatively wait for an RX 5700XT with a partner cooler
Everything above that is diminishing returns.
You can get a lot of mileage out of even a 1660 if you're willing to cut back on effects
What card should you buy now with unlimited budget but that actually deserves its price?
Right now no card deserves its price.
Im waiting to see the RX 5700 XT partner cards.
I bought a 1070ti about a year ago and I got no complaints
RTX 2070S
Written by a true virgin. Mine and my friends lifes prove your argument wrong. You don't have to go too far to know that you're delusional as fuck, or a kid.
>die size almost as small as Polaris 10 going for twice the price
>selling at a loss
Wait a second, if the 2070Super is supposed to be faster than the 1080ti why are all the resellers selling ti’s at 600+? The 2070S is supposed to be 500. I’ve been away for too long. Is there a really big secret sauce that you get by buying things like “Black Edition” “Galax” etc? What about EVGA vs Nvidia vs somebody else? Fuck I’m confused.
What's the issue? It's the 2080 ti that has more than 8 GB.
Nvidia had RTX at least, fuck amd
Why do people fan service technology that's multiple generations away from being practical and that almost nothing is capable of using? You're paying for a glorified tech demo. Just offer high power cards without the gimmicks.
I'm just waiting for an affordable card that can do 1440p 144fps on most games
2070S is just as good as 1080Ti.
If you can find a 1080Ti for 400, go for it. Else get a 2070S or RX 5700XT.
I guess you can't read? That's exactly what I said. Every new major arch revision they drop the last and honestly it's a much better way to go about it than Nvidia switching archs almost every gen.
RTX is pretty gimmicky, 4k not so much. 4k really just makes games look sharper, plus you notice things you didn't before.
More interested in the new cpu line, My 5820k is getting up there in age and I'd rather not get another intel cpu.
Also here let me post graphs too
fuck sake just tell me why I would want a RX 5700 XT over 2060S/2070S when gamers nexus and LTT's benchmarks pretty much showed they're similar in performance you fucking boomers
Nvidia has RTX because they want tensor cores for their data centers. Nothing else. You're buying binned GPUs that weren't good enough to sell for the cloud. There's no practical use at all for them gaming wise at all for how many cores they have.
you dont care about ray tracing and want something that a better value. AMD gpus usually have better long term support
It's $100 cheaper? Also
youtube.com
how "long term support" are we talking because I want this thing to last 5 years at most
youtube.com
it's unironically trash cooling implementation
It's slightly weaker than a 1070 but will do the job. This is a dooky gpu gen in general unless you GOTTA upgrade.
Can you really blame them after vega?
Don't expect the same from the Navi cards, part of the Fine Wine meme is due to GCN being much more convoluted and AMD having a paltry software/driver staff compared to NVidia. AMD relies on developers optimizing for their cards, hence they let people know how their architecture works. Nvidia keeps it a secret and optimizes for games with its huge driver staff. If you buy NVidia, you buy a black box to which only NVidia has the key.
Because it's cheaper than the 2070S and faster than the equally priced 2060S. Unless you're interested in the excellent Nvidia video encode stuff, AMD's feature set is more practical for gaming. Their new sharpening filter looks better than DLSS and has less of a hit on performance.
AMD's blower coolers have always been hot garbage that tarnishes the reputation before the real cards hit shelves. I don't understand why they keep doing it.
I mean the drivers will improve with time not anything with hardware
>AMD having a paltry software/driver staff compared to NVidia.
I don't think this is as much of the case as it used to be. Crimson looks and feels like something from this era while Nvidia CP is stuck in XP and takes a century to load in comparison. You also see far more AMD driver optimizations gaming wise as well.
lads, i have a 24' monitor w/ gsync and can go up to 1440. is the resolution a meme at that point?
no I asked for a gf a few months ago
>they literally cut a part of the cooler off to make space for that dent
I genuinely do not care about the encoder stuff since I don't stream and don't use any fancy software to record/edit videos. In the end I plan to either use relive or shadowplay, and only casually convert raw to webm using ffmpeg
not often enough to care but I do use upscaling with madvr (if I'm ever not lazy enough then maybe mpv in the future) but I only actually rely on upscaling content maybe once or twice a month to my 4K TV. this is the only time I actually use my 4K TV on my PC, it never gets plugged in outside of that since I have consoles to couch game on
I also do VR with original Vive but it seems the games I play on it are unity based anyway
Damn I might buy a 2nd 1080 ti
The thing is, the games where AMD really shines (like Forza Horizon 4, where the 5700XT ties with the 2080Ti; or Battlefield V) are built on engines that have benefited from console optimization. NVidia dominates in machine learning and PC consumer hardware, but AMD is big in the console and server market.
Navi will get a boost once PS5/Scarlett come out. As will Ryzen 3. And Stadia, too.
>1080p/60fps
I want to game at 4k 120fps.
forgot to add I have zero interest in ray tracing until it's at a comfortable non-meme state, I really don't want to purchase a used card either
all of this is what's really making me decide what GPU I get this year
Get a RX 5700XT with a partner cooler in a few months.
It'll benefit from a lot of games being optimized for it due to PS5/Scarlett/Stadia using the same architecture.
get this one. look at the transparent plastic
See
RX 5700XT with a better cooler is what you want.
>sli
dont do it. it looks cool but its disappointing as fuck, also a headache.
is that real?
Why isn't there a RTX 2070 Supreme?
Bad idea. You want two cards that are virtually identical (same partner card) and even then it doesn't always scale well.
I mean I wouldn't be surprised if it is
EVGA cutting corners by using the same fans on pretty much the same product would make a lot of sense
More like RTX 2070s performance for 400$
What do I need in order to play Monster Hunter World at maximum at 1440p and 144hz?
>1080p
>60 frames
I gladly pay for the 144hz, the 960 is a 50$ GPU and it's a fine card. Some of us aren't living in 2013 tho
2060S is a stupid card
2070S is a decent choice but that's a $500 card
RX 5700 XT is about 5-7% slower than 2070S at $400
Pros for 2070S:
-You get to play around with ray tracing (lite) in tech demos
-Specific Nvidia features maybe
-Resale value
Pros for RX 5700 XT
-Better long term drivers support
-$100 cheaper
-FreeSync/Image Sharpening/Anti Lag/whatever features they have I don't pay much attention to AMD
>not 240 hz 4k
>not quad 2080 ti's
Nice living in 2014
>5700xt
>cheaper than a 2060s
>300-400aud cheaper than a 2070s
gee i wonder whats more appealing. with the money 'saved' on a 5700xt i could go from a 3700x to a 3900x.
im waiting for aib cards though. dont like blower cards
ARE YOU SOME SORTA RETARD?
Crypto miners under volt and under clock GPUs. If you leave your computer running games and shit 24/7 it's no different than retard magee mining.
ALL THOSE CHINK 1050S HAVE VGA PORTS CAUSE THEY ARE GTX 550S IF YOU BUY A NEW GPU WITH A VGA PORT YOU DESERVE TO BE SCAMMED
Get on with the times old man we are at 4k and 120fps right now
I have a founders edition card that I took apart and slapped a 120mm AIO water cooler on it. FE cards should be easy enough to find.
BUT 90-95°C average temperature.
>4k is a gimmick
fuck you people are legitimately retarded huh
>he want's a PS5 XD
Buy an xbox if you wanna be a retard. At least you're not a faggot scared of boobies on Xbox
lmao in what universe do those numbers constitute a tie?
when the fuck do partner AIB cards come out this is stupid
I could literally go buy an nvidia super card from EVGA/MSI right now and not look back
why is AMD literally just "WAITING"
>WAIT FOR NAVI
>WAIT FOR BENCHMARKS
>WAIT FOR DRIVERS
>WAIT FOR AIB COOLERS
>JUST
>WAIT
Vega is a 600w beast baby!
>censored station 5
Nah, fool me once
I'd rather stick my dick in a beehive than be caught playing on a console made for children and women
they shouldn't even bother with reference cards just let AIB do everything. They would have sold so many more cards on the 7th if they weren't all reference I bet
whut
>"There's literally nothing to play on PC"
September-October.
Buying GPUs at launch is why NVidia gets away with their prices.
There's no way that thing isn't running 50-60c idle
>144hz monitor
I can't go back to 60 anymore, I fucked myself
i guess im waiting till next year to get a 2070 super for hopefully around $500 CAD
>he has to answer the Captcha
This has nothing to do with them. For cryptoniggers to be affecting this, it would mean the parts needed to make GPUs are running out. They're not, CPUs are getting cheaper.
youtube.com
Bitcoin isn't mined with GPUs
Ethereum is mined with ASICs as well
Monero is dead
The majority of the random shitcoins that /biz/ made their money from were Ethereum tokens, which can't be mined
The latest craze is "deflationary" tokens, which are minted with a fixed supply and a certain % of coins are destroyed each transaction.
Bitcoin/crypto "investors" were merely a convenient scapegoat for Nvidia to jack up prices and keep them high. It's easy to direct hate at "rich" people.
>PS5/Scarlett
They use RDNA 2.0 with ray tracing, 5700 XT isn't going to be optimised for next gen games at all
probably gonna buy a 5700xt partner card because ray tracing even fucks the 2080
Would buy nvidia if they performed better at their own tech
>ray tracing meh
>omg a sharpening fitler, based AMD!
fuck off
Cope poorfags 4K is beautiful if you can't hit 60 on a GTX 1070 then turn the settings down 4K Medium looks better than 1440p Ultra. I agree if you're on a 27 inch monitor like some chink then you probably wont see it much benefits but I got a 1440p 144hz G Sync and a 60Hz 4K TV. Sometimes I want more frames in like CSGO or sometimes I want the better resolution to see people very far away in Arma 3. It's all preference and once 4K 120 becomes more affordable my 1080ti will give me a great time at 4K med to high. The 980ti from 2015 was sold as a 4k card. It's almost 2020 great over yourself it's not "wasted processing" by that logic a very nice Ultrawide would also be a waste of processing power
You meant 1080.
It's also obvious when you look at the first page of CMC
Only one coin there can be mined with GPUs (though ASICs are more used for that coin), and it only gives $3/month in profit
4k is the same shit we've had before but of higher quality. People memed 1080p back in the day, 4k is a better 1080p that is better memed.
Are you socked? It's recycling. Children have to die in those metal mines in Africa and you really want 2 more dead kids on EVGA's hands just because you can't resist peeling labels off your 500$ peice of equipment
On you're still on 4K? Pathetic. Enjoy being stuck in 2020 peasant
i was considering the move to 144hz when i upgrade to 1440p from 1080p60
should i stay ignorant of glorious high fps and settle for 1440p60?
So you're telling me with the PS5 coming out in less than 2 years and the dev kits are going to be out in the wild soon, you honestly think there's time for a new RDNA revision? This is how you know Yea Forums just talks out of their ass.
Motherfucker last time we had 980 ti performance for 499 in the 1070
Stop bitching
Go for the higher FPS it's so nice even if you're staying at 1080p
Consoledrones are embarrassing to watch.
The architectures will be similar and it may well be a transitional, custom architecture halfway between Navi 10 and 20, just like PS4 Pro was still basically Polaris with some Vega features. AMD's raytracing patent could be added even to Navi in its current state, since much of it relies on software shaders that can run on any card.
Either way, we don't fully know how raytracing will be implemented on those consoles. It'll take up more space on the die, i.e. it'll mean less compute units. Still, AMD *in general* benefits from console optimization even across architectures, as shown by Forza and Battlefield. Not to mention Navi 20 will be very similar to Navi 10.
So what do you play on these 1000+ USD machines? Just curious to see if its actually worth the investment
1070 had an MSRP of 379$
I can't tell the difference with my 144hz but I might have bad eyes
I think the best investment you can make is Freesync/G-Sync, you'll never have to suffer Vsync ever again.
You sound like a person cursed to speak the truth while no one else listens or believes it.
retarded "enthusiasts" have already accepted the new pricepoint. why lower it? shit will sell regardless.
I bought EVGA 2070S for $530 from B&H jews for my brothers pc.
Serious Sam 2, GTA 4, Painkiller Overdose and Max Panye all at glorious 4K if 8K becomes more affordable I won't have to do anything but a monitor swap (to atleast play the the best) I also play other things like Insurgency SS. It's better than the next gen consoles and I've been doing it since 2015 now
Xbox 360 had unified shaders a year before PC GPU's did
2080ti.
Not worth it
>can't overclock new ryzens
Lmfao
But it's monster hunter tho, if the nigga can afford it it's worth every penny, I have a 1080ti and if I had 30% more GPU power than now I'd nut
I know the truth firsthand because I was one of the lucky few to make a large amount of money from the shitcoins that were all the rage on /biz/ in Dec 2017.
The only people on /biz/ I've seen shilling crypto mining on /biz/ are the 0xBitcoin pajeets who thought that having a worse copy of Bitcoin/Ethereum that costs twice as much energy to mine would be a good selling point.
That was a different time with much lower power draws and heat production. A 5700 XT alone draws almost twice the power of an Xbox One X under heavy load. That's unfeasible on a system on a chip sitting on top of the CPU. Part of why the X is so expensive is because of its vapor chamber cooler.
For that reason alone, Scarlett and PS4 will have lower clocks and less compute units than dedicated PC graphics cards at the same time. If you waste more die space on raytracing hardware, the performance differential increases even more.
Yeah and that was then. Things have changed.
preaching to the choir. Same boat, crypto has become a poisoned well made up of scammers on one side and proto-commies on the other. Its getting kiked as fast as it was "revolutionary". Its all about tangible assets in the new clown world. gold, enforceable property, bullets, food, ect.
That's cause the 360 was a REAL gaming machine that gamed so hard it died. PS4 plays anthem so good it kills the PS4 sometimes. I've got something to say! It's better to burn out than to fade away!
>this
I turned all my savings into firearms. Worse case me and clan go raiding, I sell them to fudds 10 years after the Libs ban them or I keep them forever. I released the day that all our money was digital that banks are a scam cause 1 EMP your 1000s in the bank are gone my 1000s in guns are still there
Both Snoy and MS said it' RDNA in their announcements.
A hardware raytracing solution does not mean a new architecture. It may even differ between consoles, since Microsoft owns the DXR API and has implemented aspects of DX12 on a hardware level in the X, which they may do again to lock Snoy out of some performance from the way raytracing is supported in all current engines.
Upscaled 4K is a gimmick, but actual native 4K is the least gimmicky thing there is. It's a straight upgrade over 2K/1080p.
When you start getting into 8K+ territory you get diminishing returns though, because the pixel density becomes so high your eyes can't tell the difference during normal use anyway.
I really fucking pray we get rained with EMPs and the whole fucking things burns down. We need a hard reset.
>PS4 compared to a Titan
If you had the money and we’re willing to buy a 2080ti right now, would you or would you wait and see how the 2080 super performs? 2080ti will undoubtably stay as NVIDIAs flagship right?
Are you saying we need a... reset era?
Why would anyone want to buy 2080Ti?It's retardedly expensive and you only get benefits if you are playing on 4K or 1440p 144hz, which are all memes not worth the money today if you ask anyone sane.
We've come too far, we have to go back.
My monitor is 1440p 165hz and I was gifted a 3700x so I want to fully utilize what I have so far. Also I intend to play cyberpunk. Would a 2070 super suffice or just wait for 2080s and see benchmarks? I don’t think I have the patience to wait.
I would buy a used 1070Ti and wait for pascal/maxwell prices to retunr.
>not worth the money
Minimum wage is like 7$ flip burgers for a whole month then that GPU will last you 6-10 years depending on your tolerance. If you buy mid ranged you'll be obsolete within 3 years I remember when people said the RX 580 was a flagship now it's a sub 100$ GPU that won't be able to do 1080p 60 Ultra next year
Get a used beefy 1080ti for like 450$ senpai nothing can beat it's used value
Okay, omw to be homeless and scavenge food while I'm not flipping burgers.
2080Ti, here I come!
Only get a 2080Ti if you want to max out your games at 1440p 144hz. 2070s will still allow you to play your games on high settings 1440p >80hz which I still think is more than enough.
>bro just use a month's income on a fragile pc part that we'll be telling you to replace in 2 years
not everybody is fortunate enough to still live with mom and dad
Wait for 2080s. No one knows Cyberpunks requirements.
stop kvetching over the prices you fuckers and just buy it
Might want to consider a Gsync monitor, especially with the 2070S. It makes a huge difference in terms of smoothness and response if you can't lock to 60/144hz perfectly.
Then again, that's Nvidia tax times two. A 5700XT with a freesync monitor will deliver similar 1440p results for at least 200$ less.
Always pair your gpu and monitor. Anything else is retarded.
When is the fucking release date for 2080s?
Don't build an enthusiast grade PC then and get a a better job. Walmart pays 11$ an hour and don't drug test. My 1080ti is still worth it and I could've just been a piss ant and bought a 1070 for like 200$ less and got some cocaine instead but I decided to go 1 week clean and buy a better GPU. Was it worth it? Yes the 1070 was made obsolete by the 1660 ti where as the nvidia replacement for the 1080ti is still like 700$
Nice AI Nvidia, you hit it out of the park
We’ll probably hear something next week
>new gpu prices are fucked
>but it doesn't matter because new games are shit anyway
it all works out in the end, boys
sharp upscaling and antilag are killer features. Problem is that they are not super secret Area 51 tech. Nvidia can copy them if Nvidia is willing to get off their high horse and admit that DLSS is the wrong approach
They won't do that. It's how they managed to mark up binned machine learning cards in the first place, Tensor cores have no viable gaming applications and DLSS is the fig leaf for that.
What would you guys say is the best "performance/fuck pretty graphics" card for 2019-2020?
This, no reason to buy a GPU better than 1060 6GB at the time.
The Gigabyte GV-RX560 is a moderate general performance gfx card, it'll play most modern "good" games at medium - high at 60 fps, the fan is alright and it's pretty efficient in power consumption, pretty good for ~$105
