The DS and PSP also had rampant piracy problems, to the point where it buried the PSP because so many people pirated and hacked the thing instead of buying games.

Most, if not all, streaming apps on the Wii U have ceased their service, you can't use Hulu and I think Netflix on Wii U anymore. Switch has Hulu, Youtube and a couple others, no idea why Netflix hasn't delivered their app for it yet.

Could buy a few bulk I guess, need a few more.

Online is a cancer on the video game industry and thankfully majority of Nintendo games (like Sony’s) don’t even have online so i literally couldn’t give less of a shit, pay the online tax if you want to dab in Fortnite, kid.

Even if the Switch had a browser, there's no flash support, and I'd still rather use my phone 90% of the time because it'll be faster and easier, especially if I'm in a game and want to look something up.

If I'm playing a game on my TV, its faster and easier to just close it and open the Netflix app on the console rather than swapping inputs and using the TV's own app.

There's no difference between the two Netflix apps, whereas a web browser on the Switch would just be inferior to a browser on a phone.

Online is great in and of itself but the reality is it has caused developers and publishers to move forward with lots of anti-consumer bullshit and games ship without local play half the time. There's too much money to be made shitting out online-only vehicles for loot crates.

If, for example, every shooter still had Halo 3's robust featureset, there wouldn't be a problem. But games ship with next to nothing to do offline, if you can even play it offline at all, fewer game modes, fewer online playlists, no server browsers for games that actually dedicated servers, unlockables and cosmetics are now paid, etc. etc. Its just allowed publishers and developers to cut even more corners and monetize more aspects of the game.

Depending on which third world shithole you live in, those other companies may have manufacturing plants there or nearby, whereas Nintendo does not, and the resulting import fees make selling in your country not worth it.
