Nomura threw a pissy little bitch fit because Square wouldn't let him make Versus.

I liked Dream Drop Distance (more than most people) but the amount of set-up that KH3 had to deal with was ridiculous.
At its heart it wanted to go back to KH1-style Disney adventures but the plot couldn't help but rear its ugly head.
KH4 needs to be a soft reboot.

Nothing is wrong with Raps

No Final Fantasy characters

Most likely that everyone that's old enough to post here, is above the target demographic?
If you were old enough to like KH1 when it came out, and still loved KH3 when it came out, I envy your non-progressing brain and ability to immerse.

This isn't a case of growing up, I enjoyed DDD when it came out and still enjoy it, 3 is just an objective downgrade on 1 and 2.

Story and just general writing is objectively worse though also all the voices are different.

Kingdom Hearts 1 was a well planned adventure.
The first boss on the island didn't do shit and was no threat but was imposing to start of the game.
Following after that was fighting Leon (puny human), some cards and a big toy in Wonderland after that a guy with a rifle and a cat in the jungle. Every boss became bigger and more threatening and the story enfolded in a natural way.

KH3 felt like Nomura planned the beginning and the end and just outsourced the complete middle without giving a single fuck. The worlds viewed separately are fine, not great, not disasters, just fine but when viewed together it's obvious that all the creators thought "wouldn't it be cool if we did this" again and again and again until they had enough worlds.
No growth in urgency, no growth in threat, no growth in power just a long slog in the middle that didn't contribute anything.

KH2 >>>>>>>> KH1

>Thinking DDD is good

>thinking it isn't
It was fun for what it was, a handheld lead in to KH3.

They built up so much shit, but Disney still wanted KH3 to be 90% Disney tour, even more than usual. The Disney worlds barely even interact with KH's characters nearly at all, with the Monsters Inc and Toy Story being the exceptions. It just felt so by the numbers and safe, and they had to push everything interesting to cutscenes between worlds and a rush finale.

I played it on PS4 though and hated it from beginning to end, the stupid story the horrible flowmation and animal shit ew.

>I'm already half Xenort

>No Final Fantasy

What the fuck is the point of these games then?

KH2's combat absolutely BTFOs KH1's by a mile.
But KH1 is better at everything else.

>objectively

>Better at the part that actually matters

Focus on Disney worlds that have nothing to do with the actual plot. Rush all plot points into the last portion of the game in a big boss gauntlet. Soulless product.

I'm just saying. Whenever I play KH2 I skip every single cutscenes, but KH1 I rarely do.

>I played it on PS4 though
That's your fault, bandwagoner.

>put Frozen world into the game
>it's just an excuse to listen to the entire Let it go song
>rest of the level is just you falling down a mountain 4 times or some ice labyrinth not related to the movie at all
>supporting character is that random snow monster
>plot is so butchered that it's impossible to even tell what is going on from the world alone
>the trio basically accomplishes nothing besides beating a boss at the end

Is there a worse Disney world?

Spectacular failure by everyone except the protagonist.

It's fucking Kingdom Hearts. What DIDN'T go wrong?

>No final fantasy
>No hub world (One area in Twilight town doesn't fucking count)
>Rewritten/rushed ending

That's Disney's fault. Originally it was going to be about the darkness in Elsa's heart n shit. The last boss was part of that

It has seamless transitions from cutscenes into gameplay. I enjoyed watching that every time.

see now no one wants to remember fucking Black Cauldron, thats a perfect world to have including a boss that would make sense to the story.
>The Horned King uses the Black Cauldron to spawn Heartless
>you fight those heartless
>traverse through the land and soon the horned king's castle.
>then you fight the horned king
>after defeating the horned king
>the cauldron takes up a heartless boss form
then you have supporting characters too that aren't even cringe and look kino for the world you're in.
Then again, zoomers don't fucking know what i'm talking about, nor would nomura even though japan had a black cauldron amusement in their Disneyland prior to the 2000s.

trutH
KH3 is the victim of all these loose ends from side games, it's a shame.
Gameplay wise it's a downgrade aswell but it's still fun and DLC sounds promising atleast.

Everyone on the good side fucking sucks at fighting during cutscenes in this game. It annoys me so much. Even people like Mickey and Riku are just there to get beaten up in cutscenes.

But Mickey jobs the entire series, and Riku is only competent during CoM

KH1>KH2>KH3

And DDD.

KH2FM>KH1FM>BBSFM>>>>>>>KH3

Too many pointless characters who should've stayed dead being shoved into your face at the end and an ending that just flips you off, demanding you play the next games.

Also the main villain gets away with everything because "I surrender and suddenly have good intentions despite commiting countless acts of murder and genocide lmao".

the game should have come out 12 years ago

Too bad even if we finally get niche movies like that, Atlantis, or Treasure Planet it's going to be the boring side-characters from the shitty handheld games who should've stayed dead visiting them so they can have 0 chemistry with the Disney characters while Sora only goes to worlds based on AAA movies.

after 17 years they fucking get it WRONG

...

I played it on 3ds (friend lent me the game)
and on ps4 and it really is a bad game. Spirits are a cool idea though, but the game just has issues with it. The drop system and its gauge just sucks and the worlds are designed to have fuck huge big empty rooms to waste your time looking for every little battle gate and treasure chest to emphasize the use of drop-me-nots. The game would have done better with seperate saves kinda like how they did with bbs. Flowmotion is cool but over powered, abilities are horrendously balanced and the game has strangely huge difficulty spikes at times. The worlds were creative and interesting, but wew everything else was kinda a train wreck.

also its subjective but i hated how keyblades looked in this game and how most enemies looked as well. Super bright and clashy. I know it is supposed to capture that dream like aura or whatever but it just looks kinda gross, except for the tron and dive heart(?) keyblades

Those stupid fucking carnival and team attacks popping up every five seconds. I don't know why but that really triggered my autism something fierce.

>on ps4 and it really is a bad game
Ys because it wasn't designed with console standards in mind, Re:CoM is also garbage for the exact same reason. Handheld games rarely if ever translate well to full fledged console quality, judging a port like that is stupid.

Nojima along with other writers and the team members left Square after KH2 leaving Nomura and his team to fuck shit up like every KH title after, FF15, and soon FF7R

It was boring.

Nojima is working on FF7R though?
