Bloodborne.

Stalker

SotC Remaster
RDR2 often times, though it's obviously less supernatural
if you're up for 2D, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is fantastic, and even Hollow Knight has a good sense of atmosphere

Gonna second Stalker, but only modded. Vanilla is still pretty atmospheric but the crustiness breaks immersion sometimes.

Bioshock

I've bought Rain world during the sales, Love the post apo " you're a lil' shit" feeling of the game and the encounters.

I really wanna play RDR2 but I get the feeling that they are never going to release a pc version. Best case scenario it releases alongside the next-gen console versions, but that's more than a year away.

BB, Darkwood

Arkane games are always atmospheric, that new game looks kind of shit stylistically though, gameplay will still probably be good.

Your mom's asshole

I'd wait it out user, it'll be worth it
the game is great and one of my favorites but I'd rather play in 60fps, and hopefully they fix a lot of annoyances like the horse inventory bullshit, rebalance the economy and other small stuff
there's enough heavy hitter games coming out to tide anyone over, anyway

Resident Evil 1 remake

I think it loses it's atmosphere and tension as you progress. Early sections are fantastic though.

Pathologic 2

Metro

This.

Metro Exodus was kind of disappointing in that regard. The first area was really well done but the desert and forest were kind of meh. Last chapter was pure kino though, probably the best section in any metro game.

Morrowind
