Idk OP its not even an anime rpg with 2d waifus. Shit game.
>win GOTY twice*?
journalists play games for the 'experience', not the gameplay
a tight neat package will never win over a massive sprawling 'experience'
Ah yes combat is the only thing that matters in a story heavy rpg. How can it only be best in its own genre and not rival the games which focus on combat????
What if they're right this time? A broken clock is right twice a day.
cuz enough anglophiles thought it was pretty enough to warrant GOTY despite being a complete shit game
>the person in a gif playing the game is bad at it thus the game is bad
Great argument, ya fuckin idiot
>
>tfw the leshen fight in monster hunter world is better than it is in witcher 3
Thanks for beta testing the fight tards
Because everything other than the gameplay was so great that the fucking awful gameplay didn't matter. Not that I ever want to replay it again.
*activates toucan sam vision*
Because it’s the best game ever made?
(You)
Even the animations are ten times better
we had this exact same thread yesterday with the same post but with the griffin webm
fuck off
why the fuck is this retard rolling so much? is this dark souls?
How does a game such as this win GOTY?
im playing it now, it's just the combat that's bad, not all of the gameplay, and even the combat isn't skyrim level bad
You realize those videos arent cutscenes only and show a lot of gameplay right?
>The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt[a] is a 2015 action role-playing game developed and published by CD Projekt
>is a 2015 action
>2015
It has been 4 years, OP. Maybe let it go?
What is playing badly supposed to prove. Hurr the optimal strategy isn't that of Dark Souls, means it sucks.
who let polygon play video games
Some fucking retard said it was called toucan sam vision because the fov increased in the mode similar to how toucans would have a wide field of view because of their head and eye placement but looking at this webm it actually becomes more narrow and now I feel upset.
>sonyfags still seethe when they see a game running above 25 fps
it's called toucan sam vision because toucan sam would track down a rainbow scent in the commercials
I really enjoyed it as a movie and game journos are really into that kind of thing.
Monster Hunter World unironically did this fight better, but either way hitboxes still shit.
but the story is complete garbage too
only the witcher 1 had actually a good story so it's a shame devs used that gay deus ex machina "nothing that happened in prequels matter because we don't want newcomers to the franchise feel alienated"
literally, it's not even the matter of not taking into account the choices you've made in prequels, nothing fucking matters because if you wonder what happened with some characters that didn't get any appearance in the witcher 3 it all comes down to "Nilfgard invaded and these characters died lol"
Truly riveting gameplay, groundbreaking stuff
look at the boss, animations and samey bullshit it's doing.
Shockwaves
combat might be too easy but it's the player who is shit here
I haven't played BoTW but this player is very annoying like dude just fucking hit it with a sword or something.
Why would a sword be better than a polearm?
Because single player AAA games went to shit this decade so people think anything that put some effort in being enjoyable is 10/10
*thrice
the switch version is coming soon
>Witcher 3 gets announned for Switch
>Snoy shitposters start making anti-Witcher 3 threads constanly
idk but there is surely a way to kill things faster than hitting the thing a hundred times while breaking your weapon in the process.
Didn't overwatch win goty as well? If that shit can win it then everything can win it
It was the only "good" western game that year and Non-Nintendo JP games cannot win GOTY.
Marketing and normalfags.
There were no other games that were better than it that year. /thread
>dude fuck off
People don't like games, just movies.
To be fair at release OW was a decent game.
It just got ruined over time catering to esports and not releasing any worthwhile content.
One of many games that was way better than it had any right to be. Emphasis on the "was." Blizzard themselves even admitted they didn't expect it to be so popular and that it was just luck. Even today it's still hurting them because shareholders want games like that from them every year and Blizzard is incapable of that and they know it. If you read about the Titan MMO they had in development you can see how much it hurt the company. They tried so many new things and none of them were working, really big blow. Now everything they do is safe so they don't fall into that hole again. OW was only made to try to recoup some of the lost money from the cancelled project and it took off way more than they thought.
The quest design was really obnoxiously done. You can't complete shit with the mini map off and you can't organically explore with the mini map on, it's a lose lose.
It wasn't "ruined", they just didn't add any meaningful content past the beta. It was shallow as a puddle in all regards, looks and presentation over interesting gameplay which looked flashy off the bat but after a few month people just got bored because there wasn't much to do. You just had the same modes with short respawns and high health pools to where nothing you do individually matters.
The problem is with the ai. it just keeps running into it.
You can make any game looks like shit when you play it like that, even the best games of all time.
The only game that would still look good when played by a spastic retard would be some cinematic bullshit that almost plays itself.
Also that webm is like 4 years old.
>He unironically likes the Glitcher 3
>Is also a filthy feels guy poster
what is it supposed to do? He's standing in a choke.
How does a game with combat like this take 10 years to be developed?
I mean you saw how FF 13 turned out long before this, why would you expect anything more?
>4 years
You lost, move on already.
At least FF13 got challenging at parts.
FF15 was casual pandering, on purpose.
OW was press R to win, fucked up hitboxes horseshit at release. It was not good. It is not good. It will never be good. Blizzard will never make anything good again and hasn't made anything good in more than a decade, besides Heroes of the Storm which was at least the fun kind of bad. But it got filled with OW shit and axed.
"GOTY" is literally the gold seal of a shit game.
Witcher 2 also had a good story imo
>idk but there is surely a way to kill things faster than hitting the thing a hundred times while breaking your weapon in the process.
Who is going to tell him?
Daily reminder that even it's DLC won the Best RPG award.
You can't stop the Witcher train.
ff13 was literally puke on a white canvas, and then they decided to do it two more times just for good measure. If you had any hope for the FF franchise after that shit, then you're a fucking lobotomite.
it was so fucking good, god dammit we won't get another good non-indie RPG like that in at least another decade
the 13 games were flawed but decent.
I can't even say the word "decent" to describe 15. Mediocre
BotW would have been better in Shadow of the Colossus style: no enemies aside from few bosses with mostly environment interaction and shrines.
>the 13 games were flawed but decent.
Well at least now we know what you are.
>RPG
???
someone who can accepted that flawed games can be fun?
The combat system was one of the better parts of the 13 games.
>mfw no qt asian cosplayer gf
>t. Never played XIII-2 and Lightning Returns
Unlike the first, they are actual great games, just like World of FF, or Type-0.
Square does great things when doing projects with little expectation. That's also why I couldn't care more about VII Remake.
>it was so fucking good
???
This. I loved the game, but I had to force myself to rush through Blood and Wine because I was so tired of it.
Maybe I'll change my mind after some years, but for now I've had my fill.
It still amazes me how FFXIII got 3 games. It just kept happening. It was so awful, I was fully expecting it to be ignored and moved past. What a waste of all that time. Pick ANY other Final Fantasy game and give it a sequel, but they kept churning out that absolute drivel. Incredible.
>god dammit
???
XIII combat was actually one of the best in regards to turn based, the problem is that it makes most of it's options hostage, and just give then by the little pieces. You just will see all it's potential before the Cocoon charge, after you fight the smug old faggot for the second time, and that is like 4 hours before the end of the game.
By the bright side, at least XIII-2 learned with XIII mistake and just give all all the options at the start.
Because Lightning was literally Toriyama's waifu, and the games were basically him erecting testaments of his love for her. On one hand, it resulted in 1-3 awful games, depending on your opinion, but if nothing else, I have to give the guy credit, he was living the fucking dream none of us will ever be able to follow.
>it's ok when dark souls does it
No it isn't, stop being a fangirl.
I can see clearly that you are a faggot who didn't play the games, a faggot who didn't play a sequel to any mainline Final Fantasy game.
Rule of thumb to sequels in Final Fantasy is: They suck. After Years was shit, Revenant Wings was shit, X-2 was not that good. The only exception to the rule is XIII, it is the only case were the sequels are way better than the first game.
From is japanese, and is unironically, for real, no joke, OK when Japan does it.
The first sequel got made because it was made from left overs of the first game and it was easy profit, I don't know why the third one was made apart from the director wanting to make Lightning as real as roses (I'm not making this up)
Why is there no other game that can compete with Witcher 3 for game of the decade? Is it because gaming went full corporate milking after 2010?
Although Lightning was on the cover of the games, she had never been a protagonist.
>first game: the only conflict she have is the initial distaste of Snow, and the whole thing with Hope. She have as much story importance as everyone else in the first half. The final end of the game is actually about Vanille and Fang, with then being the real important characters story wise
>second game: The MC is Serah, and Lightning is only an eventual cameo, having only space in the opening tutorial, and some DLC sequence in the end
Only people who played the games would know that, of course, since Lightning is everywhere in regards to advertising.
yum
