In Aria you'd get most shit once and bam, it's 100%, no need to get 9 of it, then upgrade it 8 times and having to grind for items to upgrade the soul.

ranking it up is easy fren. Plus its only good for farming. If you want big boy healing that has an affect in the """harder""" boss fights then you will want drain at max grade and rank.

Why is it locked in the second to last dungeon? Miriam walks so slowly, I spent 80% of the game dive kicking and sliding to get around quicker.

Because then people would turbo through the game making a 15 hour game a 4 hour game.

That's how it's always been since Aria of Sorrow. You don't get the speed-up shard until near the end, and usually you don't even get to keep it into New Game+ (but you do in Bloodstained).

The spear and greatsword techniques are pretty good for fast movement up until that point.

I'm a bit troubled there, I got every shard from ennemy that drops shard but I'm only 96%

I fought against Gremory solely using the Zangetsuto and with no shards or even kicks or anything. Because I autistically figured it was how you were meant to beat her properly.

Made the fight both more difficult and made it last way longer.

For reference, while being very generous AND not counting shading from light sources, she has about this many colors on her at any given time. When I say generous, I mean things like not counting the two separate shades of grey used in her underwear. The only real contention I'd give is that MAYBE the skin and the boot hem are the same in this picture, but the final design changed and made her skin more pink, so as of release they are separate colors again.

Curse of the Moon hands down, mostly because Gremory is the final boss and thus music feels better paced for that. Silent Howling, while it could be final boss tier, isn't "definitive" enough if it makes sense, a bit too fast paced for it to fulfill the role. I'm happy it has the bit at 1:30, but if I were to compare it then CotM version is your classic while RotN is the power metal.

Equip Zangetsu's sword, and fight Gebel, but while fighting Gebel, watch the moon, and when it turns red, smack it. You should be getting Gebel to about 1/3 of his life before it shows up

The game really rewards you going "wait, what if I tried this?" There are so many ways to get strong that it feels like a real treat. My one major gripe is that full shortcuts are limited to NG+, what the fuck is the deal with that? I want to have as many sets as possible for elemental and weapon variety.

Man NG+ is boring when you already have everything unlocked, im just going to play NG again

I am scared that we get an update that nerfs some of the bullshit in this game like stacking on passive shards. It's so fun being OP like Bunnymorphing with high as fuck INT or doing lethargy at almost everything

SotN had a bunch of special weapon techniques that you had no reason to use or possibly even know about without experimenting. This just keeps it in spirit but upgrades the system so you can use them with any weapon of the same type.

Flame Cannon is actually very strong on first playthrough. It does huge damage very early on, and it's not hard at all to max out.

Here's a few spells and weapons that make cakewalk the early parts of the game, ONLY at the entrance
>Farm lion swordsman for enhance STR that goes up to +9 and can EASILY be ranked up to rank 3 and beyond with Ectoplasm
>Chainsaw sword knights sword drop is absolutely busted in combination with STR enhance shard since it multi-hits
>True Arrow annihilates practically anything and is upgraded with basic as fuck materials most of which are found in the first hour of gameplay
>Cursed witch lady can be farmed for Curse ring that brings INSANE damage to the early game
>The dogs can be farmed for a fairly powerful early-game longsword
The game is breakable if you know your shit and experiment, As its always been with Igavanias

Its really a pointless item. Rank of Words of Wisdom, craft the Witches Hat, and get the Warlocks necklace from the memorial girl and you'll regen mana faster than 98% of the spells can spend it. All it does is free up slots for Augment INT & for the Beret which gives like, 2 extra INT

Flame Cannon is cheap (18MP) compared to True Arrow (30MP) and is really powerful at close-ranged early on.
Dullahammer Head familiar is also pretty powerful at Rank 9 since it can attack 5 times.
Those two shards should work on everything until Reflector Boss.
You can cheese Twin Dragons during their long flamebreath animation by equipping a boots weapon, jumping on the right-dragon's head and just bounce up and down repeatedly until their flamebreath is over.
Once you get Reflector Ray, you can glitch your way to Oriental Sorcery Lab to get 9 Bovine Plumes.
Use 8 to upgrade Reflector Ray to Rank 9, then use 1 to get High Jump. (2 for Optimizer too if you want passive early on)
With the High Jump ability, you can get the Valkyrie Dress and Aegis Plate early on for some defense.
With the upgraded Reflector Ray, you can now beam into the Underwater Waterway to reach Underground Desert, then Inferno Cave by beaming into the ledge.
Upon reaching inferno Cave's backdoor, get the Summon Hellhound shard to Grade 9.
Upgrade Summon Hellhound to Rank 7 or 9 depending on the materials you have.

Congratulations, you can now 1-shot or 2-shot any boss before fighting Bloodless.

Eat a lot of shit to upgrade your max MP so you can use it twice.
Also, get the Warlock's Necklace accessory that reduces MP cost from Abigail.

I didn't mention it, but you need to eat food that increases LUCK to make Grade 9-ing shards bearable.
Another trick when you are on PC is to suspend your game to save, then backup your save by copying the file somewhere else. This way even if you die, you can just paste the file back in to respawn where you last suspended.

I know that there's some sword technique that allows you to sink underwater, but from my run, I didn't have it available on any of my weapons.
Maybe you're supposed to craft a specific 8-bit weapon for it or something.

Broken as fuck once you get access to diamond bullets and the hat that makes you not use up your ammo. Just craft a stack of diamond bullets and wear the hat and they never get used up.

It also takes forever to build speed. In any practical situation you can shoot faster using dash cancels without wasting MP.

Rene's Requium with diamond bullets does 500+ damage per shot to bosses, the other gun that shoots homing rounds does slightly less but will hit bosses like Overlord that a normal gun will miss due to the hitbox being too high and put of line with the firing line. the main deal with guns if you stay way back and play keep away with them father then getting in close. Especially with the homing gun (can never remember the name of if) if you don't have some distance the bullets tend to go wide and miss.

Miriam at max strength is FAR beyond any of the bosses. We are talking about oneshotting the end bosses here. The fact that early stomp builds can last until the end game is insane. By the time you beat OD you are nowhere near maxed out on passive shards or equipped with the best damage dealing shards (although you will have the strongest weapons).
