That's a surprisingly long amount of time even per month for a lot of people. My job for example has me on downtime for several hours a day, sometimes half the fucking shift. I get paid for it all of course but the amount of time justifies me bringing my Switch to work and playing it in the breakroom.

Switch games that run at 720p in handheld mode look a million times better on the small screen due to the high pixel density. Shit is so sharp, it almost resembles 4k resolution in a strange way. Best example I can think of is Pokemon LGPE. It looks like a goddamn, low-budget Gamecube game on my tv, even though it's running at a native 1080p. Playing it on that tiny 6.2 inch IPS screen looks fucking beautiful at 720p though.

Certain games like XB2 will look awful due to how the rendering is handled, but most games handheld mode ends up hiding some of the graphical problems more since they aren't blown up to an HDTV awkwardly with underpowered tech. FF7 is just a port of the PC/PS4 versions (with more patches incidentally, making it the best modern port), but the characters are too sharp compared to the blurred backgrounds in TV mode. Play on handheld and the lower resolution and blur added to the models as a result causes them to blend in far better.

They should make it like PlayStation, where one system is the "primary" in which any account on that system can play that game, and then a "secondary" user in which the console can only play it while the owner is the active account

It's called pixel density. A 30" 4K screen will look about as sharp as 10" 1080p or 5" 720p.

Portability doesn't mean you have to play outside, it's always convenient to just pick up the handheld and get into action amd then toss it aside when you're bored.

Sometimes people like to watch netflix on one or both of those devices.
