It seems like hard core true believers in leftist Overton window emotional manipulation of the people think that the only reason they lose elections isn't because of their own mistakes, they're perfect, so it must be caused by emotional manipulation. So of course they have to emotionally manipulate and mislead people, for their own good. Having people even consider any other alternative ideas fairly or with an open mind is just wrong, because their ideology is right and others should be considered negatively immediately without examination. Anyone who thinks people should have an open mind or freedom of speech or objective journalism, or intellectual and academic honesty, is a target to shame for that crowd.

They'd like everything to be part of their narrative. They want politics in games, as long as their politics is treated as better and the right choice above all others (and ideally hammered home repeatedly). Given their tendency for projection and bigotry they'll frame any call for other politics to be included fairly as either 'oh you just want a game telling people that your political beliefs are right' (accusing others of what they're guilty of) or 'anything other than my views is being a nazi, don't normalize nazis in games'.
