LiS2 has been fighting an uphill battle from the start. Max and Chloe whiners, the price hike, the ridiculous wait between episodes, staff being poached to work on other games, Telltale imploding, no lesbians, the politics, Daniel being a psycho bitch, new characters each episode, bugs everywhere etc.
I still like it and I think the next two episodes will redeem it. At least it'll have proper endings based on your choices.

Also it probably garnered a lot of interest because of how bad it is. Like, a main topic of LiS discussion is about how forced all of the teen slang is, but in a "so bad its funny" sense. LiS 2 is just boring.

Nobody gives a fuck about the story lines in cinematic games. You think anyone played Life is Strange because they gave a fuck about the dumb tornado story? You think anyone played Detroit Become Human for the dumb slavery story? You think people played The Walking Dead to see if Clementine and Lee managed to get a boat? No! People don't fucking care about stories, they only care about the characters. Mass Effect could've been about a bunch of aliens going on a roadtrip through space-Mexico and getting in constant fights with galactic gangbangers and people wouldn't have given a fuck as long as you still got to constantly interact with interesting characters.
