That's the thing, Razor's Edge lets you play as the girls in any level. Story mode only has a couple of Ayane levels but they're not rehashed assets
I've been defending Razor Edge hard though. The first playthrough is always awful but the chapter challenge mode remove all of the crap and the game becomes at least better than Sigma 2 (but of course not as good as NG2 proper)

I dislike that their moveset is limited compared to Ryu. I'd rather just play as Ryu. Maybe you like the variety, but I just feel handcuffed.
But that's wrong. She has tons of cool stuff in Sigma 1 and i actually prefer that version. She inexplicably lost a ton of moves in the second game, even basic things like her version of guillotine throw which every other girl also has. She even lost her special moves from her roll through maneuver. I like both versions but if they had just added the new stuff on top of what was already there she would be amazing.

Eh, I played Black a few months ago and it was pretty good. Dropped 2 after the first few levels because it was clearly rushed and overall felt sloppy. I've heard nothing good about 3, even the re-release. So no, I'll pass.

Sigma 1 is literally the definite version of NG1. Better than Black in every way. NG2 and Sigma 2 both have stuff that is missing from each other so you either pick or play both. Both are great games so if you only have access to one of them just play it and stop worrying about it.
Not to say that you should ONLY play Sigma 1 over Black either. If you only have access to one of them you should stick with that, you will be playing an excellent game either way.

The girls in RE, especially Kasumi and Momiji have the largest movesets in the series so they have more "options" available to them in real time.
Ryu being the main character obviously has access to the most movesets, which some are also fairly large.

Priorities for NG4 are:

>3- Keep Kasumi and give her plot relevance
>4- If you can't bring back every move and moveset from the previous entries at least bring back the flails
>5- Keep all the mechanics from RE but nerf SOB chain
>6- Nerf the enemy launch/throw resistance from RE
>7- Keep the gore and delimb/health ratio from RE
>8- Put a bit more emphasis on exploration and down time like the first game

Using different weapons is Ryu's shtick, it's why he's the "Ultimate Ninja". Having the girls start using different weapons out of nowhere would feel wrong and i always associate them with their weapons, i think they are iconic. All you need to do is keep improving and building on their own mechanics: Kasumi's command grab, teleports and kunai tempest, Momiji's ninpo and air attacks, give Ayane something she can do other than having really good basics and an exploding kunai and give Rachel her throw based moveset while keeping her gun. Do that you've got top tier action game kino.

No, but like many things about it it's the odd one out. It's also not that simple, characters only have "multiple movesets" in DMC because the games are about meme weapon switching i real time, so they have to in order to fit in with the gameplay and control scheme. One of the biggest flaws with that game. You can ignore all the enemy mechanics and mash buttons to victory simply because every second to third hit of what ever you do is guaranteed to effectively "kill" them.

There is a middle ground between 2 and RE, and it really came down to individual weapons (talons, flails) and attacks (guillotine throw being an automatic delimb on a wall, but was useless outside of that).
But Black and NG2 are stuck to Microsoft and Sigma is stuck to Sony. So I guess they can put Black and NG2 to the Windows store. NG3RE is free to go wherever.

It really has nothing to do with exclusivity. There's different versions of the game because they were made at different times for different hardware so they added more content if they were revisiting a game and changed stuff to make it work in that hardware or if they felt needed changing. They could release versions of the competing platform if they wanted, there is just no incentive to do so.

Of the "good" versions of the games in the trilogy (NGB, NG2 Vanilla and NG3:RE,) RE is still the worst of them but by no means a bad game and most of the elements that suck come from the fact that the base game was such a goddamn mess.
I'd still happily play it if given the chance. When this gen ends, if I can get a cheap Xbox One and we still don't have a PC port, I genuinely may get one just to have access to the trilogy in 4K.
It wouldn't unfortunately. NG is a fairly niche franchise and has never been super financially viable. Honestly, I'm surprised they even put the time and money into making Enhancements for X1X. I do kind of hope we can get the Enhanced versions in some kind of HD Collection but I don't know exactly how the Enhanced builds work -- if they're separate versions or if they somehow make engine tweaks to the existing game or what.

First of MN isn't even the highest difficulty so just that is already fishy. But no they don't, that clip was from the highest difficulty and so is this one. Alchemists are minibosses, so they have mini boss health and need to be fought with actual intent instead of mashing strings and hope they hit.

Sometimes the hardest part of the game is the camera. Fuck I hate when they use the fixed camera., The worms and Dworku pt.2 were three times harder than they should've been from that horseshit.
You can reset the camera in Doku to face forward. At least you can in Sigma, don't remember black. Worms and spirit Doku are 2 of the shittiest bosses in that game to be honest. Especially the mission where you have to beat 3 worms at the same time, 1 fire and 2 electric, it's basically luck.
