Which one was better?
Which one was better?
Hearts of Stone is great but Blood and Wine adding a whole new area gives it the edge
this its really unfair to compare them as hearts of stone exists to be supplemental content to the main game while B&W is its own experiance
For me it was hearts of stone, the main questline is the best thing about the game. Blood and wine is alright.
Hearts of stone was one of the best questlines I've seen from a game in a while
I feel like B&W is CDPR learning that the base game lacked a good villain + main narrative, so they gave it to us in HoS, and tried to merge what they learned in HoS and give us a mish-mash of HoS and the base game in BaW. Thus making BaW the winner in my book.
HoS
>Better plot
>Complex villain that makes both siding with or against him entirely justifiable
>Kino atmosphere
>Runewright is a welcome addition
>Bosses are interesting to fight against and aren't just damage sponges
>Every main quest is anywhere between good and top-tier
>Loot is pretty shit, and siding with the villain gives you no real benefits
B&W
>Entirely new area to explore
>Villain is kinda shit
>Endings differ wildly and are all good
>Provides best gear in the game
>Some side quests are extremely entertaining and/or kino
>New creatures that aren't just reskins of existing creatures
>Main quest is pretty good, but the atmosphere is pretty shit
>Fairy-tale land isn't very good
>Offers much more content than HoS
I'd say that B&W is much more valuable to a player than HoS because of all the content to do, but HoS is superior in everything that isn't gameplay related.
The HoS main questline is unironic kino
I prefer Blood and Wine and I actually think it has a deeper story. People are incapable of actually analyzing anything and just think
>DEVIL STORY DEEEEEEEEEEEEEP
Either way, both are great. They're the only redeeming thing about this shit tier base game.
What a totally wrong opinion on every level. Not to mention
>caring about loot in an rng visual novel game
Nice arguments, try again when you're over 14.
was toussaint France or italy
HoS was a well done retelling of the faustian bargain, and BaW will hook anyone with an autistic friend once they find out what is going on. Both are different stories with different appeals, but I think HoS is better just in terms of focus and a tight narrative

Amazing bait
Should I play Witcher 3 again? Never played the dlcs and could try a non rune spam build?
I just finished EVERYTHING, give or take some side quests and gwent cards. Hearts of stone was just annoying to me with hints that it creates a new land and it be like the crusades, but turns out to just be a dark story (similar to Bloody Baron), plus the immortal asshole irritated me with now days hair cut, total immersion ruined. On top of it all, shitty loot and for some reason ramps up weak enemies even though they are levels below me.
B&W though gives fucking FRANCE, get knights, tournaments, better gear, nods to the books and other games, more monsters, and a home base. The main bad of this though is the stupid fairy tale land (except the wolf and Rapunzel) and annoying vampire. I will say B&W is the better one, but by the time I got near the end of it after all the other game, I just wanted it to end. The plot was neat conspiracy till end, but I don't know since I rushed the end since I was just done. Then found I still fucked up and got Yen at the house instead of ciri. So I am done with the game. Was good but it can fuck off for a while. Gonna play Amid Evil and doom 64 now while drinking the leftover wine I got for immersion.
this game was so fucking good and 2077 looks so fucking ass
Blood and Wine. Syanna and Dettlaff were 10/10 villains.
You can start a DLC run straight from the new game menu and they give you a pre leveled character with pots. The actual gameplay is boring so do that instead
Just do the dlc. You could maybe enjoy them more. I did it all and I just don't want to see the game anymore.
The base game was great for the most part, though. Novigrad is kind of a bore when replaying, though and the last act is pretty shit.
>Hearts of stone was just annoying to me with hints that it creates a new land and it be like the crusades
You're the only person I've ever seen stupid enough to think this
It's hard to decide. HoS has really kino main questline and you can get these glasses giving you +10 to SWAG.
B&W other hand is in size of game itself and gives many additional content and acces to upgrade your set even more and you can paint that shit so you get even more SWAG. Also it has side questline what refers to "Twelve tasks of Asterix" movie what have me some giggle.
Actually both expansions are good in own way and it's impossible to compare.
Blood and Wine. Anna Henrietta best girl.
they were both pretty gay but i thogut w f w
HEARTs of stone was the coolest because gaunter fucked bitches
To be fair, I started B&W first then realized I was starting the wrong one first so I back tracked. The Olefri came to kidnap Geralt so I got excited, then nothing. Arab soldiers come in and then you never see one again till the runewright.
HoS certainly had a much more enjoyable story. Detlaff was an autistic retard and an awful villain and so was Sylvia Anna.
Both the queen and her sister deserve to die. And the ending where they both do is the best one.
Of course the ending where you side with O'Dimm is the best in HoS as well.
And the base game's main story turns to complete garbage as soon as you find Ciri.
Blood and Wine. It gave me my Grandmaster Ursine Armor.
Blood and Wine. I fell in love with the overly bright and colorful landscape, and I'm a sucker for knights and chivalry.
>And the base game's main story turns to complete garbage as soon as you find Ciri.
The only cool villain was Imlerith 2bh. Eredin and teleport guy were just pussies. And it all feels so rushed when you spend so much time chasing after her.
>now days hair cut
you are american aren't you?
>atmopshere is pretty shit
wtf do you want you clown
more muh edgy dark grim aesthetic.i bet you sucked so(y)runner 2049 dick as well.
For me, it was Hearts of Stone. Blood and Wine is very good, but HoS feels like it would be right at home as a story the author would write as a short story. A shame we're not going to see another Witcher game starring someone else. CDPR hit their stride with Witcher 3.
