If they're going to let us see Pokemon on the field I want to be able to have binoculars that let me stumble upon things in the distance. I want to have moments where I randomly notice far off in the mountains a ghost Pokemon watching me that I can then scout out and find if I travel that way.

But I know the new game is only going to have them aimlessly walking around a field that never takes chances to surprise you because they always spawn in predicable ways instead of making discovering them part of the award.
