Hows this game?
Extremely okay. Don't set high expectations and you'll have some fun
Im playing it and having "fun"
But I don't know if it's artificial fun. Everything just clicks, even if it's repetitive, but it feels right.
Ennemies dont react enough to bullets.
Outside of that the sound and level design is stellar. If you want to be immersed in a 40k setting then this is the game.
You're playing spehss meringues in terminator suits though and it's well reflected in the game.
Original version was a huge disappointment when it released and I never got into the EE. I'm a bit curious to give it a go but I'm also not one for playing games like this in single player.
Eurojank the game, but not in the charming way.
Nothing really improved with EE. The upgrade system makes multiplayer slightly less painful to handle on higher difficulties but campaign still has relic load bugs from the original game and they changed the start slightly so hybrids greet your boarding party. They somehow fucked the map screen too so the grid which was in the background overlays the map and makes shit hard to read without zooming.
The upgrade system at least seems like it would give a bit of progression to the multiplayer. It felt so pointless to play it in the original launch. Once you had played the missions once it was all the same.
I like the feel of it, the weight of everything, the ambience, the lore, the slow crawl through the corridors, and the fact that it's kinda hard, but kinda dissapointed that it's not going to have more updates because if it had a bit more management, more roguelite elements and maybe a map editor of sorts would be so fucking good.
Felt like they weren't able to make the levels big enough or had some things put down by Games Workshop. You can see a shitload of things carried over from EYE but it's far more constricted in what you're able to do compared to it, strange seeing how EYE is a fucking source mod.
Yes and no. There's very few worthwhile upgrades to get and it's possible they will be granted at random on level up. It alters game balance by so little you probably won't feel it.
>but it's far more constricted in what you're able to do compared to it, strange seeing how EYE is a fucking source mod.
Maybe they were adjusting to UE4, and it's true, EYE has a fuckload of details and shit
But what could GW constrict them to? certain factions are a no go? Alright then, Space Hulk is a license on it's own. But still there could be more hackable things, barrels, mines, maybe a thing to block spawnholes strategically.
I think a nercomunda game might be fun.
I think it's possible they took a bit too big of a challenge trying to make the game and probably ran out of budget which is why it's lacking in depth. They're working on some Inquisitor game now so maybe they'll have learned from their experience with this game. I'd imagine they'll be reusing a lot of the ground work which should mean they'll have more time for features and content.
hmmm fun in a video game. how plebian.
isnt there a tabletop recreation in the works. just play blood bwol
I'm guessing GW could restrict what kind of enemies show up, how the story plays and how the player can affect it, the kind of goals/missions available, essentially anything that could potentially fuck up lore since that was a big part of the selling point in the game's press materials. I'll admit I ain't a huge expert on the entire 40k universe but my experience with GW's other licensed games is that they either let the devs do whatever the fuck (as was the case with Dawn of War III) or they pull their hair while reaming them in the asshole.
The universe is so big and so detailed and explained that it's kinda hard to fuck up anything lore-wise unless you touch directly into the "main story" which is fucking never gonna advance.
But that's ok. Everything else around it is so big that Star Wars Republic could exist somewhere in the milky way, minding their own Sith/Jedi business and all of the sudden the Maximum Fuck could arrive through the Warp, and claim that the Galactic Empire is a long long lost colony from the Golden Age of Mankind, and they've come to correct it, and would make sense... somehow.
Whats a good discord to find people to play this with?
The official one?
>unless you touch directly into the "main story" which is fucking never gonna advance
Someones out of the loop. They dropped that, introduced a fuckton of new lore and new bullshit. I sure hope you like giga nigga super marines and Primarch's coming out of the wood work, and Rowboat Guilemon with his Eldar GF.
