Should have just made a non-tablet home console. If I were to buy one I would literally never touch the tablet shit.
I can't see a reason to buy it when I have a switch
It's great for people who only play handheld, but I play docked 90% of the time so I'll stick with my switch. Also the joycon drift issue concerns me on the lite since it's integrated.
the controls look more solid than the original switch
I can't afford a regular switch + games so I'll probably just buy this. The trade-offs aren't a huge deal for me.
>the leaked image of the sky blue switch was real
Y’all are retards for dismissing it. If the feature list isn’t too bad I’m buying this one, the og was trash to hold for long periods of time.
I like the design a lot. I'll pick one up if we can get homebrew running on it, otherwise I'll just wait for the inevitable XL.
Alright I've been putting off buying a Switch for this announcement.
Which model do I get?
The regular. It's portable enough and has no compromise
What's this?
Only want a switch for zelda Mario and animal crossing and would rather play handheld mode so this seems like the version to go for
This, official joycons with that dpad when?
Enjoy never being able to play multiplayer or having it on your TV
>Still no dock only version
A fatass NEET like me only goes outside a few times a month and I do it to get a break from vidya. The portable aspect of the Switch is completely worthless
can it be pirated though?
You'd think a neet would know the joy of playing vidya in bed.
I never used my Switch as a handheld, so it's worthless to me
I've never used my main switch on the tv anyway, and all multiplayer I've done has been online.
starwpolls are so fucking embarrassing
it's the change.org equivalent of voting
>speakers on the bottom
Just another reason I don't care. I play it in bed and rest it on my hairy greasy chest. Not a problem with my current Switch.
Hadn't bought a Switch for a moment like this. So I'll probably be picking this one up. Yellow color is pretty dope.
What is the point of this? Its a Switch with less features, worse hardware, and the Switch is already portable. What the fuck is the point?
Shoulda been $150.
Shoulda had some sort of contours on the sides to make it semi-comfy to hold.
>Dpad
>handheld only
Glad I waited for the revision, I fucking knew this would come out. I'll get a blue one. I don't even have a TV I can use with it.
>Wanting a Nintendo (Can't) Switch
I think the Switch brand is still a little too new to be $150. The 2DS XL being $150 instead $100 is what was retarded.
It appears to lie flat, how are the triggers?
This, my arms hurt if I play it in beed too long while I can play the 3DS literally 12 hours straight.
I'm getting the OP color scheme too if available, it looks sweet.
>switch lite
>not switch pro
Those FUCKERS.
well duh, it's the cheaper alternative for those who don't want to spend $300 on the Switch.
A paperweight, just like the og Switch.
Yuzu is improving each month and my money will go on a CPU upgrade once it's decent enough.
If it had hdmi output it would be perfect, as it is still better than the original and only graphicfags would disagree
It's a nice and good alternative for people who just wanted to use a Switch as a handheld and are fine with getting less for paying less.
As someone who bought his Switch on December of 2017 I'm happy this isn't making me feel like I wasted my money.
Don't think anything because I don't see a scenario where I don't emulate Switch.
Where can you vote for switch and Nintendo are shit
Totally superfluous for me since I own a Switch that's docked 95% of the time. Honestly, I don't even know if I'd buy a Switch that had better performance but couldn't be used as a handheld. I don't use mine as a handheld but I do like being able to bring it places and docking it there.
>THERE WON'T BE ANY HARDWARE REVISION!
Every time. Every time nintendo fans fall for this shit.
on you stupid faggot
It's a decent alternative to the original. Works well enough for me.
How fucking weak are you?
Toys for little boys desu
>remove features
>charge closer to what the ancient hardware is actually worth
>retards eat it up
looks great, specially if it shares the same size and weight as a Vita
OG Switch always looked too big and heavy for me
couldn't care less about the joycons, I prefer it this way since my OCD and autism prevents me from playing comfortably because of the joycon wobbling
I think the next one will probably be like this, a switch without screen and with a fan so it can run at higher speeds...I don't think that they will change the specs though
Didn't vote because it's just okay.
Even at 200 it will sell like hot cakes
It has ana actual D pad, its saved
don't forget it being timed with a 60 dollar funko pop remake of zelda
>wanting motion controls and multiplayer
found the normie
I just want a switch pro man.
If I didn't already have a Switch I'd get this, but I see no reason to replace my original.
I just don’t like the material used. Looks like a $40 amazon tablet and not a $200 quality device. Even the vita looks more premium
Mildly interested. But.
I have a gaymen 1440p rig and don’t really care about Zelda Mario or Smash. Certainly not at 60, I just wouldn’t get much mileage out of them I don’t think.
I am interested in Mario Maker and the new Fire Emblem though. But is there other stuff? Any exclusive indies or some other first/second party stuff that’s slipped under my radar?
I think white buttons and a dpad should've been an option for the regular switch from day 1
It's a honest-to-goodness sidegrade.
Nintendo doesn't understand ergonomics. Their last handheld was literally shaped like a brick.
It’s okay for what it does, but I’m not getting one unless if there’s a really nice color combo rolled out like a new AC poptart.
I've never owned a Nintedo in my life, and this looks affordable enough to try out. I am curious to play Zelda.
There is no point to it
It's shit
I guess it’s alright but it’s not that much smaller than the regular Switch and has less features. Might be alright for kids
HomotechUSA is having multiple faggasms with his cucumbers and mannipples at this moment
There is though
>Make cheaper, handheld only switch
>Pokemon comes out this holiday
>Have a cheaper alternative parents can buy to their kids.
Also Japan will probably gobble it up.
Those colour choices are bad and I'm concerned about the stick drift. If they haven't fixed it it won't be as easy to fix as it is with the joy cons
the fact that this doesn't support tv is really telling
of course they'll omit that from the 200 bucks switch to keep selling that 300 dollar switch for anyone wanting regular console play
Switch pro is coming later
>and all multiplayer I've done has been online.
Exactly. Being online works best if you're on a stable connection via the ethernet adapter. Which connects to the dock. Guess what the lite can't do?
I remember people argued the original switch was sold at cost
>remove expensive shit from joycons like rumble and ir shit, that's -60 bucks
>no dock, that's -80 bucks
this shit should be 150
It's puzzling, the Switch Lite completely removes the TV-out (and its ability to function as a home console as a result), and welds the joycons to either side so you can't break off a controller to play multiplayer anywhere. It defeats the point of the system's original gimmick.
I'm rather impressed they managed to downsize the Switch AT ALL because of its existing performance-to-size ratio.
Off the top of my head-

Golf Story
Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Ultra SF2
Mario Kart
Tetris 99
Didn't the leaks say the switch Pro got delayed?
The drift issue is tied to the Bluetooth antenna, right? These controls are wired into the console so I doubt the issue will be present
So is Switch Pro still happening or what
>no detachable joycons for multiplayer
>only portable
>still no basic features like bluetooth
Oh wow, another piece of shit console made with only commuting friendless Japs in mind.
Theres literally no reason to get this shit if you live in the west
even cheap phones have more processing power now
Are you remarded?
On paper, but to avoid the phone melting in your hands it's never using the full extent of its available processing power. Phone specs are a meme.
It isn't designed for people who already own a Switch. It was marketed to people on the fence.
>this 720p lcd 2015 SoC shit costs more to make
>I can play the 3DS literally 12 hours straight
Too bad you have to charge it 3 times to play that long.
Wow that’s really bad
Ultra SF2 really isn't worth bothering with especially when the Anniversary Collection exists on the same system.
Spla2n
I also find most indies that are on PC and switch feel better on the switch, something about being able to play games like Hollow Knight on the couch feels right.
nah I'm sure they can maintain higher performance too, especially brand new 7nm SoCs
the current switch uses a 20nm Tegra X1, it's years old now
It looks cute desu
>retailers sell the peripherals they bought from game companies at break even costs
I ask again. Are you remarded?
>Don't give a fuck because it won't replace my switch
Original switch fags seething hard. They were in denial that a better version would come out.
Now that it's out they don't care anymore? Lmao.
>real d-pad
>No joycon shit to deal with
>Portable only
>more battery life
>lighter
>smaller
>Fits in your pocket
>Possible switch lite dock
>Sleek and sexy like the dslite
>A majority of games will run on it. Only shit like 1-2 switch and mario party won't work but they suck so who cares
>100 usd cheaper
I fucking love this thing. Nintendo listened to the criticism and made this. Good on them.
I've got both, if you're strictly looking to play SSF2T then Ultra is simply the vest versiob of the game. I use 30th for hyper, alpha, and 3.
I just want Nintendo to release a separate joycon with that d-pad for a reasonable price.
This. One of the main reasons I don't want a switch is because I have no desire for portability. Fuck the dock, fuck the joycons, fuck the screen, fuck the battery, and fuck having to pay extra for all that shit that I have zero desire to actually use. Just give me a cheap stripped-down version that's just the box with an HDMI-out and a bundled pro controller. That's all I want.
no but all those drones claiming the piece of shit and peripherals were sold at cost are
>retailers pay the same price as consumers
looks like gayer vita
>They were in denial that a better version would come out.
If you already have one it's an objectively inferior version because of the missing hardware features, I don't think the people you're deriding are the ones seething
Can you hack it?
For the last fucking time NO
the drifting issue is a stick issue, they're poorly sealed and their components are literal china tier. It's a complete manufacturing issue, that renders any switch purchase as a game of russian roulette where you hope that yuour sticks won't be THAT garbage
this shit probably costs nintendo less than 100 bucks to make
>limited edition console version
>looks fucking disgusting
Not a fan of the colors it comes in. Luckily i've got the old switch model, so I don't have to get this (even though I do play mostly in handheld mode) but some more common, conventional colors would be nice for gifting reasons.
Either falseflagging or a console-warring retard.
>real d-pad
that's good, but you can replace them easily on the regular switch
>No joycon shit to deal with
now you have to deal with drifts permanently
>Portable only
isn't the regular switch already portable?
>more battery life
by 30 minutes
>lighter
are you that fucking weak?
>smaller
so?
>Fits in your pocket
do you even go out?
>Possible switch lite dock
that's speculation
>Sleek and sexy like the dslite
That's your opinion
>A majority of games will run on it. Only shit like 1-2 switch and mario party won't work but they suck so who cares
are you forgetting tons of ports and first-party games that runs like ass on handheld?
>100 usd cheaper
you can get a regular switch for 220-240 these days. Are you that fucking poor?
I've had the drifting issue on my left joycon and fixed it by removing the cap and blowing under it, I heard some other user say a drop of mineral oil on the exposed stick head and then putting the cap back on fixed his permanently. Getting the cap back on properly is an absolute bitch though.
One argument for it I've seen is it's for people who can't afford a switch. First off, it's only $100 cheaper so if an extra 100 really breaks your bank, maybe you should invest in groceries or your savings instead. Secondly, you can find a switch for cheap on craigslist or these seller apps, cheaper than this thing and most include games. No idea why someone would buy this beyond being a massive Nintendo cuck and you feel obligated to buy anything they shit out.
It's a great budget system for kids and women who play Pokemon and little else. I don't see why people are upset about it when they can literally just not buy it.
the target demo is kids and japanese. Local wireless is popular anyways with these demographics.
The portable aspect of the Switch is indirectly worth it for you because no Japanese devs would support it otherwise
I play my Switch docked 99% of the time. But, I will buy this to play around the house. I just don't like to undock and dock my Switch, because the dock feels cheap, and I think it will scratch up my Switch. I will probably also bring the Switch Lite with me to friends' houses and when I travel, because if it gets stolen at least it was a bit less expensive, and I still have my main Switch at home.
Why does Nintendo constantly do this shit where they refuse to make handhelds with a proper video-out. Not talking about some retarded dock design. Literally just having something like a mini-HDMI port on the top. Is that so fucking hard? It was bad enough when the 3DS didn't have any option along these lines, and it was bad when the switch required you to use some 90 dollar proprietary dock adaopter for HDMI out rather than just having a port. What the fuck is their continued excuse on this?
Why such ugly colours tho?
Why not just Black White and Red?
Switch unit cost around ~200-250 smackers to produce for a $50 profit going by disassembly appraisals from the console's launch, a Switch Lite probably costs ~100-150 to manufacture one unit in a similar vein if they're making similar profit margins on it.
Literally my point
And Nintendo selling at a loss has nothing to do with the prices of a good in store. They can sell this for 200 and still potentially be selling at a loss. I’d wager the reason they the peripherals are so overpriced is because they're selling the hardware at a loss.
>Haven't been paying attention
>Notice that the lite version has an actual dpad
>Buttons seem sturdier and assumed to be more "clicky"
>Only mistake is they kept the dpad and left analog the same place instead of fixing it for greater ergonomics
If you can't hack it and put homebrew / pirate games it's worthless though.
Those are temporary fixes, it won't magically make the sticks materials better and unable to deteriorate as fast as they do. It's really just cheaply made
Doesn't the Switch have games that have local multiplayer but only in docked mode?
That's a big nono there if that's the case.
Are the savegames on the Switch cards or the SD card stored?
lmao what about this shit makes it so expensive? you find newer SoCs on cheaper phones with better displays
>If you want to use motion controls to catch monsters in Pokémon Let’s Go, or play a game like 1-2 Switch that requires them, you’ll need to purchase an additional pair of Joy-Con separately.
What the fuck
you have to literally be a tranny to buy this with all that inenvitable stickdrift after a few months.
If yours is internal deterioration then I have no solution, mine was an odd issue related to some dust inside the cap or something fucking it up.
Did he ever pay the $200?
There's nothing that only works in docked mode, but yeah this isn't designed with local co-op as it's main target, that's the regular switch you want.v
Nintendo could really run away with this is they were smart.
3 versions:
Switch pro (same as now, just upgraded)
Switch lite (handheld)
Switch TV (TV only console that comes with a pro controller)
Pokémon drawings are so fucking ugly. The box art for Sword and Shield is disgusting, and I hate that I have to look at two shitty box-arts every time they put out a game. Fucking kids and their lack of appreciation for dynamic line weight.
Nintendo's good at leeching money off of consumers, I'll give 'em that
Phones are designed to survive ~2 years and have garbage cooling systems.
they're not selling this shit at cost you fucking dumbo
you have to be incredibly retarded to think that a device with a 720p lcd display made out of plastic and powered with a years old mobile SoC cost them that much
even apples brand new SoCs cost less than 30 bucks
This, but the exact opposite. I dont take my switch with me when I leave my house, but even at home, I do 99% of my switch gaming in portable mode. Its (in the literal sense), more comfy.
Most likely you can't, last I heard only first-gen Switch models haven't had their SoC e-patched to reset the console instead of going into Nvidia's panic-mode when some pins are shorted.
>fatass NEET
Opinion discarded. We're all gamerchads here.
Save-games are system specific and stored to either internal storage or the system's flash-memory
>yeah that tiny ass fan and ten grams of aluminium make it expensive
breathe through your nose
Don't give a fuck. So long as it doesn't render my Switch obsolete, then who gives a shit if some retard version comes out? I felt the same way about the 2DS
I believe they're stored on the internal memory, though I may be wrong. I assume we can use the same Nintendo Online account for both consoles, and transfer via cloud.
what the fuck is your obsession with new phones being more powerful
>Switch TV (TV only console that comes with a pro controller)
Frankly I don't expect Nintendo to try this after seeing the Vita TV flop so fucking bad you don't even remember it.
I think they should have designed them with mini joycon. My issue is that you can't replace broken components as easilly as the original switch, since you'd just buy a new joycon.
Then lead with that instead of some asinine bullshit about how an 80 dollar stand means the switch just saved 80 bucks on cost and price.
No reason for this not to work in the dock, what the fuck Nintendo
I said nothing about power
Well fuck you plan than.
unless there are cloud saves too like she said
I like the concept, but I value multiplayer and TV too much. So I'm not gonna buy it and continue waiting for the pro.
I don't see why people are saying they'll have the drift with the sticks, they replaced the d-pad, you really think they won't fix whatever was going on with that?
The only reaction this news got out of me is that I hope they release joycons with a D-Pad like the Switch Mini's.
If you go outside you shouldn't be playing video games, I can understand if you have an easy job like a night shift position that has a lot of downtime but the shit they always shove in their trailers is retarded, going rockclimbing/touring/camping etc no let's fuck all that and pull out the switch and play it! But hey it's portable! God forbid you don't play your video games 24/7.
To be fair, that is literally every controller ever made.
Yeah, yours is still in a state where you can fix it and pretty much enjoy them longer. All i'm saying is that joycons are of a questionable and inconsistent quality
>can't dock to tv obviously
>shitty joy cons that barely anyone uses are now fused to the switch
It looks slightly smaller too. With it being a dedicated handheld surely there are some positives right? Like is the resolution and framerate better than the regular switch undocked? If not then why would anyone ever get this fucking shit if it is just the switch but with joy cons you can't take out?
The system does have cloud saves but you need Nintendo Switch Online.
there was a huge drone movement trying to push the idea that the switch and the peripherals were actually sold at cost, I entertained that retarded thought
Already got a Switch, so I don't care either way.
They have garbage cooling systems because they’re cheaping out across the entire platform. Same shit with the 360 and why it RROD’d. Cramming in a bunch of stuff in a tiny space is cheap but short term focused design.
the worst part is the majority of future limited consoles being the lite version instead of the main one
IT CANT DOCK????? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Fantastic but that’s a really retarded foot to lead with.
who the fuck would buy this. just wait for a fuckin sale on the switch and get it for 20 bucks more than this actual toddler toy
Guess I'll just wait for the Switch upgrade since hardware revisions are on the table now.
they're phones you fucking retard, now what the fuck does this have to do with the fact that switch is cheap as fuck to manufacture?
your high quality console has stick drift issues and still uses a regular old lithium-ion battery like everything else out there, there's really nothing about this that scream longevity
This is for children and poor people. I think they’ll make lots of money due to the price and general good value.
>No reason for this not to work in the dock
It's smaller, so it wont fit in the dock. No reason for them not to make a lite dock for it though, but you can probably take a risk on a third party retailer doing that, assuming it wont brick your switch like they do on the non-lite version.
I played my Switch 100% docked so far, I couldn't care less
>real d-pad
Who has given a shit about a d-pad since 2005?
>No joycon shit to deal with
Yeah. Removing one of the best features about the original system. Nice.
>Portable only
Less options. This is good how?
>more battery life
Hardly
>lighter
The Switch isn’t already light enough to hold?
>smaller
Not that much. I can see some people liking this but it’s not that big of a difference.
>Fits in your pocket
If you have nigger sized pockets then yeah they probably do.
>Possible switch lite dock
And how are you gonna play it without... JOYCONS?
>Sleek and sexy like the dslite
It’s just a glued together Switch. The design is basically the exact same.
>A majority of games will run on it. Only shit like 1-2 switch and mario party won't work but they suck so who cares
Less options are never good.
>100 usd cheaper
For an inferior product.
You’re retarded.
people with tiny hands aka kids but some adults fail to realize they've grown out of the target audience
>my console
I don’t own a switch but you’re comparing mass produced yearly cycle androids made to die with something that’s supposed to live for 10 years.
And for me!
>I could care less
So, you care a little?
>switch is supposed to last 10 years
oh lawd
I have never broken a smartphone by the way, I have a ten year old smartphone that works just fine, apart from the battery giving up on all of these devices after a few years, switch is not safe from this either
but from all the arguments you can make, you choose the retard one
Such a poor limited edition design.
Sad we couldn't have had a design like the Limited Edition Dragon Quest XI switch Japan has.
Slime light blue with DQ monsters in white sketched around it.
>Who has given a shit about a d-pad since 2005?
Not everyone plays shitty third/first person shooters like you user.
seething
read again
I've used exclusively joycons since I bought my switch in 2017. Ask me anything.
I play my Switch almost exclusively portably but the lack of rumble and not having the option for docking at all is kind of lame.
I mostly play 3D platformers and I’ve never used a d-pad since probably the PS1. Who the fuck uses a d-pad on modern consoles? I don’t understand why people make a big deal over them.
do you use those plastic straps that go on the rails?
They need joycons that have the analog sticks placed like playstation analog sticks, and have an actual d pad for fighters.
>If not then why would anyone ever get this fucking shit if it is just the switch but with joy cons you can't take out?
It's cheaper
It not being able to dock to a TV will most likely be modded out
it can't
not if the USB-C port doesn't have the specs to support it
>no more console warring
>give an easy cop out answer like "i don't care" so that nintendies don't have to criticize their god
Hey kiddies, in the business world, if you don't care about a product, it means it's shit.
Being a few dollars cheaper does not sell me on it at all lol. You need to bring more to the table other than just being an even more gimped switch when the switch is already gimped to begin with.
God you're stupid.
Nice capitalization and punctuation you got there, Einstein.
Retard trying to be clever can't even read properly.
I mean obviously most people don't give a shit. it's just another option for people. just like if they create a home console only version of the switch. the actual original switch will still be the best of the 3. The only reason I'd buy another switch is if it had exclusive games or was significantly more powerful and devs were willing to go back to old games and improve performance. It's not like this switch lite or eventual switch home are fixing the inherent problems with the switch like shitty joysticks, constant overheating, no bluetooth, etc
ah yes, im sure the .02 seconds of delay in monster hunter is going to matter at all.
>now have to wait 2+ years until an actual hardware revision comes out
Atleast my switch isn't nullified yet
it makes sense though
they want this console to last for many years to come and with next gen consoles coming up they have to answer with at least something to make their console seem new and hip again
I hope they release those colors as joy-con colors. I'd love a cyan/yellow set.
But I won't be getting it. I'd swap up for a dockable Switch with better battery, though. Too many games I don't want to play in handheld, but for the ones I do I'd like to have better lifespan.
nintendo is overpriced, underpowered fucking garbage for toddlers
It should be segregated to a kids/v/ board just like pokemon
the next-gen is one year away, and all they have to show it is a GIMPED switch. It's fucking retarded
You aren't the target audience for this, this is for moms buying their kids a Pokemon/Animal Crossing machine
I mean they will show the pro one after those are released, to make it seem new and hip again
and it makes sense to do it then rather than now if they want many more years out of this
I guess
Of course I can read. I was merely pretending to be retarded to rustle the jimmies of person #1. It appears I have baited you in to white knighting like the faggot you are. You are beneath me.
reminder smartphones have more chip power than the switch
Whateva
I have L4T HOS and soon Android on my switch. It's much more useful as a multimedia device until I get another Metroid.
No need for this retarded cash grab. We have no hacks, mods, accessories or PIRACY.
Normal Switch is modular. Non modular products must die.
I just wanted a home only version. Im not an autist that needs to take the game to the bathroom or cant pause the game when i need to get up.
>all they have to show it is a GIMPED switch
If and when it sells like hotcakes people will develop for the system.
>Nintendo made a PS Vita
Nani the fuck. Handheld-only I can get behind, but omitting the joycon concept felt like an especially dumb move. This thing seems to undermine some foundational concepts of the Switch.
Poorfags gonna poor, this is to make the Switch more affordable.
>switch product
>can't switch
>tfw you can still find parts and service old PSPs because they were modular in design
China WILL keep popular devices going with aftermarket parts as long as they are modular.
>Ultra SF2
lol pathetic
Get a regular switch and a hori stand, even if you don’t have a tv table top mode is very comfy, that’s how I usually play it while I browse here and youtube
The PSP is a real piece of work. Mine lost its L button contact pad, screen and battery atleast 4 times but I just replaced all of them.
that's the point. same with the 2ds not being able to fold yet still having 2 screens instead of one large screen. it's just a cheap version of the switch
It's a downgrade retard
>>Still no dock only version
What's stopping you from just buying a normal switch and leaving it hooked up to your TV?
What are you doing to your 3DS that makes the battery last so little?
>Even smaller screen
>Still can't watch Netflix or Plex
>Still no proper browser
wtf Nintendo. I don't want another PSP. I want an iPad that can into games.
>Netflix
Jesus fuck user, not everything under the sun needs to run fucking netflix.
i very much want one. but i might still keep my regular switch. actually, now i fucking wish i never sold my hacked one.
OP here. From the looks of 500 votes, the consensus is that it isn't necessarily a bad addition to the family, but it doesn't do anything spectacular, especially when you already own a Switch. It's probably aimed for either the poor or for kids.
Agreed?
Maybe I'll have a reason to buy Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and a few other things.
$200 is a reasonable price.
I don't get it. It's not anymore compact than the original switch. Even the ads show people putting it in their bags just like the original switch.
I’m not getting it because it won’t be as comfy as playing it like this
Boy you picked the wrong game for a handheld only console.youtube.com
tl;dr its the worst performing game on handheld mode
a tablet PC should. Switch would be the perfect replacement for my ancient broken iPad if Nintendo embraced its tablet potential.
>7" or 8" screen
>browser and apps
>joycons so you can keep them off when using it as a tablet
Playing games. Face it, 3DS is absolute shit tier.
I don't care because I'm not the target demographic. Waiting for the New Switch XL or whatever the fuck they call it.
>a tablet PC should.
Then buy a tablet PC. The Switch is a game console.
Trash poll, here is a better version:
It’s a cool piece of hardware that looks gorgeous. It’s gonna make Nintendo win this gen in sales for sure. I already have a Switch that I’m happy with but glad for people who get to have another comfy knockout handheld from the company that has always made the best handheld consoles.
Also
>all these people itt with weak wrists who can’t hold the regular switch for long periods
someone's jelly
Is this real? Does the game really run that poorly on Switch?
Jelly of what exactly
>Just give me a home-console only version
Unless what you're after is some sort of "Pro" model I don't quite understand why you can't just leave the Switch docked.
yes
I really hope nintendo makes the switch pro just a pro dock. It’s gonna be fucking annoying to be an early adopter if I have to buy another $300-350 console around the time the PS5 is coming out
The Nintendo Tax. They've been pulling these jewish tricks since the Wii era. Before then, their consoles had very good value (gamecube launched at 200, for instance, and was commonly available for 100 including pack-in game)
then starting with the Wii they just repackaged a gamecube with a gimmick controller and slapped a 250 dollar price tag on it. And they tried initially charging 250 for the fucking 3DS, but that one was so high that even nintendo drones didn't budge, and they had to slash it down to 170 (DS started at 150, for reference). And things weren't any better with the Wii U or Switch, as we all know.
And they keep getting away with it because of their legions of drones who will pay out the ass for _anything_ so long as it's got that ninty logo slapped on top.
Because you’re talking to literal children who don’t have their own money to buy a PlayStation so they want the Switch to be able to run third party AAAs
Paying extra for a screen, battery and joycons that won't be used is silly.
Having to use a USB adapter for ethernet is sillier still.
I played this game at release on the Switch and it never run this bad
this is some weak bait
Fair enough, actually.
watch the video then
Trash poll, use the one in OP instead.
I think this is super fair but I can’t imagine a price point for that that would make it worth nintendo to make such a thing. If you take those things away you’re talking like a $75 console, and producing that at scale for a small segment of their demo just doesn’t seem realistic
oh fuck
those joycons are mine i don't care how much they cost
What the fuck are you talking about? Playstations have been dirt cheap for the last 2 years.
I don't have the Switch yet, when is the Switch Pro?
My point exactly. The only people who don’t just buy one to play AAA third parties and Sony exclusives are children or people who own gaming PCs and don’t complain about the switch being an obvious supplement system
For the Vita version at least, they just repurposed old inventory for depreciated models of the console.
If the Switch Pro becomes a thing that replaces the base Switch model, I could see them slapping unsold Switch basic electronics in a little box the same way.
>>Possible switch lite dock
Cope.
>heres your switch that can't switch from tv to portable mode bro
youtube.com
All this video proves is that the PC version can run it on a higher resolution and more effects which shouldn't surprise anyone. The game itself runs fine on Switch.
>>Still can't watch Netflix or Plex
Your opinion shouldn't be taken seriously by anybody because you pay for streaming services.
It's 30 fps vs 60 fps footage slowed down. The Switch version of Octopath Traveller is just fine.
it also shows it running like shit
It's half speed. You don't notice that the Windows version is updating with duplicate frames?
Using Vita TV as an example of pricing isn't the best though. That launched at $250 for the OLED models and they had so many left over and unused parts that they wrote them off in their financials and reporposed them to make the 2k and Vita TV models. It launched at $100, or $150 with a memory card and controller but they sold so very poorly that 6 months later they were dropped to $20 or $40 for the bundle with the controller.
So if you're remembering how super cheap a Vita TV was to buy that's only because that first shipment of stock was sitting on shelves for years and not moving.
>colors are shit
>handheld only
I would consider buying one if there was a way to connect it to the TV with a cable or something since the price is really good.
I pay 2.50€ per month for Netflix and do you even know what Plex is?
A dock only version would presumably come with hardware upgrades since it wouldn't need to worry about making sure it's lightweight & portable.
>Giving Netflix money
I shiggy diggy
NO MOTION CONTROLS OR HD RUMBLE
CERTAIN GAMES WILL BE FUCKED
MARIO ODYSSEY WILL BE FUCKED
THIS SHIT IS THE BIGGEST BLUNDER OF THE CENTURY
NEXT VITA TV
>>Still can't watch Netflix or Plex
>>Still no proper browser
All of those are solved if you hack it.
It has gyros but not IR or rumble.
Wake me up when Pro comes out. Until then I see zero reason to get this thing, especially when it has a smaller screen.
Brainlet on the verge of buying a Switch here. What are the pros and cons of this thing compared to the original?
No, I was just subtracting components from the Switch price. I didn’t realize Vita TV existed before this thread.
People are going to buy the piss out of this thing are you kidding me. This is the 2DS cheap shitty model for literal babies and girls who want to play animal crossing.
Also Nintendo created a home console that justifies multiple purchases, your 2 kids won't stop fighting over the one switch? Great, get the younger one a Lite.
It's gonna sell like crazy in nipland, but I doubt that will be the case here in the west. This might be beneficial because the games developed may be more handheld focused, meaning that the regular model gets a good benefit being docked.
>I don't want another PSP
PSP could still output to a TV at least.
Mario odyssey no waggle for spin jump patch when
>no browser
What complete faggots are browsing the internet on their PS4s
It's probably more comparable to the PSP GO but it will fail
Just wait til the sticks start drifting
So does it fit in a pocket now? Requiring a case or backpack isn’t portable
12 year olds who only have a shared computer and haven’t figured out incognito mode.
so many nintendies on Yea Forums
the lite doesnt have tv compatibility, doesnt seem to have a stand, and the joycons cannot be separated from the console. it's just all one thing. in other words, get the normal switch, cause the lite is for retards.
Seems like the perfect console for 99% of switch kids. All they ever talk about is how the game is the perfect handheld, and never say a single positive thing about docked mode, just mobility and playing on their bed and shit. I expect it will sell like hotcakes to current switch owners. No real reason for a person on the fence to buy one though. Great way to double down by nintendo though.
I just want a portable to replace my 3DS so I'll probably get one.
Already exists, but can only be used handheld. Google it.
Why is everyone talking as if Switch isn't portable? the fuck is going on?
significantly bigger than the original PSP and that didn't fit in pockets either.
Pros: cheap, aesthetics, comfier handheld
Cons: incompatible with some shovelware, some games will be stuck at lower resolutions and frame rates without flexibility the dock provides, no tv compatibility
It’s basically if you only want it to be a handheld. The flexibility of the dock is great. If I were buying this now, I’d pick a Lite but regret it later. I played exclusively handheld for a couple years but since I bothered to set up the dock recently, I’ve been really enjoying daytime couch gaming and nighttime bed gaming. Also games like Dark Souls Remastered are fucking horrible handheld if you’re in a dark area. This screen is even smaller than base Switch so I could see large portions of games like that being unplayable
Have you got real pockets or just tampon holders?
Admittily that's undocked.
Though given the system we're talking about is forever handheld...yeah, expect that if you play octopath. Also the fuzzyness of Xenoblade 2, and Hyrule Warriros runnign like crap.
was any of the leaks real?
Literally what handheld since the GBSP fit in non-autist cargo short pockets
This one will likely be slightly better in handheld mode than the switch, if in design if not spec wise. It will almost certainly not be any worse. For people balls deep in the handheld mode, I fully expect them to buy it.
You can connect an ethernet adapter with a usb c to usb b converter through the usb c port
Wristlets whining that their tendie tendons can’t hold a handheld for more than 10 minutes
i probably wont replace my switch, but i can see this selling a lot. a ton of my friends that dont really play games but want a switch for zelda smash or pokemon would probably pick it up
Looks neat on paper, but unless they fixed joycon drifting for good then there's gonna be huge problems for owners in the coming future
I'm mixed. On one hand, it's an affordable alternative to people not looking to spend $300 on cheap plastic shit. On the other hand, you lose local multiplayer support, TV connectivity, and you play at reduced resolution and graphic settings for $200.
I'm hoping another version of the Switch comes around with upgraded hardware, cloth-lined dock, glass screen, and better remote clips. Even if it sits around $300-350, I'd consider it. Default Switch just feels so cheap.
>remove joycons from normal switch
>put the main unit in one pocket, it alone is smaller than the lite
>put the joycons in another pocket
>litefags don't have this option at all
Y I K E S
>no local multiplayer
Are people just talking about tv couch multiplayer with this, or is this incompatible with multi-Switch local multiplayer? Don’t get me wrong, I agree that the multi-switch multiplayer is barely real multiplayer, but I’m just curious
Is the screen glass, or that cheap-shit plastic that scuffs? I returned my original Switch because the screen scratched the same day I unboxed it and slid it into the dock.
I meant local as in sitting on your couch with 1 or 2 friends trying to play MP. Without TV connectivity, it's safe to assume this feature is excluded as well.
You're going to want a case because of the analog sticks.
PSP GO but I get your point.
>dock scratching
I have a day one Switch. What were people doing with it that it got scratched? Holding it like 45 degrees off center and smashing it down like an angry retard? How did you scratch this system?
>*shatters*
Epic.
Why did every manufacturer fall for the shitty glass meme? The worst thing that can happen to plastic is scratches.
Plastic screen + glass protector is the best combo. You can just change the protector if it shatters.
>PSP Go
Ah, fair enough. Forgot about it cause I never had a PSP.
How will you play local multiplayer? The kickstand for tabletop, stand for TV is gone and the detachable joycons are gone. You will have to bring two extra controllers and have something to prop the system up when playing.
I honestly just slid the thing into the dock. Pulled it back out maybe 4 or 5 hours later to go up to my room with it, and it had a big ass scratch going down the screen. I've always been really good with taking care of my stuff, so I was really disappointed.
It's safe to say that this model will sell like hotcakes in Japan and do well in the west, right? Maybe devs will focus more on handheld mode, making docked games run and look waaaay better.
>glass bad
Firstly, all glass used on phones or devices is typically tempered. Second, plastic is more susceptible to surface scratches and damage than glass is. Third, screen protectors.
I frankly can't fathom how you manage. The first night I got my Switch I got absolutely wasted and slammed the system upside down into the dock, wondering why it didn't insert properly. Zero scratches btw.
I have a normal Switch and won’t be changing over. I was just curious about multi-system wireless local multiplayer that the Switch technically has. I get that the other two modes of multiplayer, the ones I actually use, will not exist with it.
I play smash online via wifi just fine. Get rid of network noise and don't sit 500 feet away from the router and you dont have to be a good goy and buy an adapter.
Every handheld except DSi XL, 3DS XL and 2DS, assuming you're not some fag in girlfriend jeans.
You people need to step games immediately and work out. Holy shit
Along with Pokémon, this will make the Switch another 150 million seller long-term
If Nintendo were smart they would just make a smartphone
>implying any of the original Gameboy or PSP models fit in jeans
>the ones I actually use
Exactly. Tabletop mode is frankly the best way to play the system when portable, alone or with friends. The fact that the portable only system doesn't have that is the worst deal breaker, but people who have never experienced it won't probably mind.
They do if you're not wearing fag jeans.
>offer a niche attractive product with enough killer apps to demand consideration as a primary console and basically a necessity as a secondary
OR
>make another smartphone in a market where two companies have endless capital and brand loyalty to outsell you
Wow I wonder why nintendo went the way they did
Unless the Lite is going to have significantly better performance than the normal Switch does in handheld mode, it's worthless. I would've preferred a TV-only version of the console instead.
This is great for me because now I don't have to worry about buying their shitty ass home consoles. I can get the better handheld.
With a screen protector on the front it's really nice. Stopped keeping it on me once I got a smartphone though.
>wearing school shooter jeans
I’m talking about like Levi 501s, regular fit jeans for adults. The only pockets that I’ve ever had that fit those systems are like dress slacks, and I can’t think of a situation where I would be in dress slacks and need a game console with me
>watch reveal trailer
>90% of reveal trailer is what it can't do
>looks like a cheap toy
Holy shit how is Nintendo so out of touch?
They’re gonna move 150 million units lifetime. Screenshot this and see you in ten years
This. I am honestly baffled as to how people are still not getting this. This isn't made for people that already owns a Switch.
lolno
The DS managed that by 1. Being a handheld and 2. Having Pokémon.
>dock-only version
>still less powerful than a base xbone
What's the point? The portability is the only thing that justifies the existence of this thing. May as well just make Nintendo a software-only company at that point.
The Vita TV flopped because the console version would have had appeal for the western market and Sony completely refused to market the Vita in the west.
Don't believe their lies. 3DS ended up having the most revisions of any Ninty system
Same, undocked most games have tiny ass text fonts and even when it's undocked I prefer tabletop so I can use my pro controller.
I have only heard of the drift issue happening to people with first wave joycons, like with the switch pro dpad issue, so I'm guessing these won't have that issue
It flopped in Japan too.
Learn to read.
>giving consumers more options is bad
Just because you aren't the target demographic, which is clearly trying to make an easier sell during the holiday season for parents, doesn't mean it's a bad product. They did this same shit with the original 2DS, you think that shit was intended for the hands of adults?
501s are skinnyfit jeans for twinks and Levi has been using Asian sizing for decades.
Men wear 505 and Americans wear 541
it flopped because it couldn't play half of its own library
>Every single thread that I talked about it there were "YOU'RE STILL TALKING ABOUT THIS? KNOCK IT OFF ALREADY. IT'S BEEN A RUMOR FOR A YEAR!" autists.
>Even after the accessory leaks they were still unconvinced
Just incredible.
501s are literally “Original Fit,” you fucking hick. You’re thinking of 510s
Read my post again and comprehend it this time.
They never updated their website from launch so if you went through official channels you'd think it only played a dozen Vita games. Also nowhere on the box of either the stand alone unit nor the controller and memory card bundle does it state that it can play Vita games natively, only that it can remote play your PS4 from another room.
It failed because nobody in the west wanted a Vita in the first place, especially a gimped Vita with less features. Actually since the Vita didn't have built in hardware for upscaling an image the Vita TV would always perform worse than a Vita would outputting at 720p instead of the 544p the handheld did, and that was on top of the Vita versions of games almost always running like shit.
Price was never an issue for me, but I never bought a switch because I didn't like the idea of something halfway between portable and home console. I wouldn't like a half assed portable console as much as a half assed home console, so this is actually more appealing to me now that it can just commit to one function well. If it has a much better battery life and is more durable I would consider buying one.
But is there is a dedicated non-portable more powerful hardware coming later? If there is and they actually have cross compatibility in terms of cloud storage and player data, I would likely get both.
Nintendo making a switch redesign in vein of the GBA/DS/3DS consoles was inevitable seeing it's a successful system and one that can be considered part of their portable systems lineup, the thing that people were actually dismissing were the constant fake fucking twitter nobodies that constantly get spammed to no end every time they tweet how many times they involuntarily farted in a day. We already get mod-sanctioned e-celeb threads clogging up the board, we don't need 5 fucking threads talking about the same """""industry insider"""""" who have little worth showing.
The original switch is a good portable. But glad you finally have an option you’re 100% on board with
I don't think anything with Nintendo on the box is intended for adults user.
"Original fit" for twinks and Asians, sure.
The actual original 501 from the 1930s, with the cinch back, is a cavernous fit compared to the modern 501.
Absolutely SEETHING, this nigger can't even pay $200, ha!
>Actually since the Vita didn't have built in hardware for upscaling an image
The 1000 version had an internal upscaler, it was never used and it was removed in the 2000 revision.
I find it visually appealing. I kind of want one, but I have no real use for one. I feel conflicted, but I like the concept.
I'm gonna say it!:
P O O R N I G G E R ! ! !
You can switch it from being on and off.
That picture was pretty close, but by the looks of it now was just a decent re-creation from memory by someone in Blender3D rather than an official image
Err I am sure someone asked before, but where is the light sensor? Shit would be annoying as fuck to use out in the sunlight which is fucking stupid.
You change the brightness manually.
Sadly that's exactly what nintendo doesn't care about doing.
Should've added one that has a dock, or have the dock sold separately. If Nintendo made it still compatible but optional I would've commended them, not everyone wants to play in tv mode, but what about those who play in tv mode but wants a more portable option for on the go?
W-where is the knob? This is going to be annoying as fuck if I would need to push+hold the home button to adjust it there.
>This is going to be annoying as fuck if I would need to push+hold the home button to adjust it there.
Yeah it will.
Yeah, it would make too much sense. Gotta keep the bullshit portability around even though 99% of the time it's not being used. Gotta keep all those gimmicky expensive pieces of hardware in place to justify the over-inflated price tag too.
The entirety of the Japanese market disagrees though.
That's because you're a literal retard that only plays one type of game.
I'm a thinass NEET who barely leaves the house, and I love handheld mode for lying in bed. I'd never use it outside but most of my time with the console is handheld.
Everything you own is China tier garbage user
Honestly I don't get it either. I occasionaly play the old NES games on Switch and the buttons in place of the D pad work just fine. I keep forgetting it's not there.
if the games ran the same as docked mode on the lite it would be a buy for me. i've already seen how shitty games look in portable mode first hand and it's fucking disgusting.
And scalpers will lap it all up and sell it for a fortune
the ds didnt have to compete with anything other than the psp. phones have took a huge chunk of nintendos handheld sales.
Do you think they will do the pro in the next year? I don't want to buy a switch if the pro is gonna come out.
Don't care. $80 joycons at retail means the $300 Switch is the better buy at the end of the day. No HDMI is marketing move to make the $300 look much better, not a design flaw. Switch Lite is a 2DS, no biggie.
So will it play games at a higher resolution than 244p? Because Xenoblade Chronicles 2 looks like absolute horse shit undocked.
Where is a switch pro? Base switch is garbage and this looks like japanese bait.
Nope. It's basically permanent handheld mode
Nope they even state that it will support all games that can be handheld but restrictions may apply. So if a game looks and plays dogshit now it will still be dogshit.
Vita TV actually flopped because there wasn't any way to do the touch screen/backtouchpadthingwhatever on it and for some fucking reason there were Vita games that you outright couldn't play on it at all even if it only used the buttons and sticks (apparently something to do with devs needing a separate license/dev console to publish on it but I haven't seen any confirmation).
Also Sony was killing the Vita off in the crib by that point, it didn't immediately beat out 3DS and they were too focused on making the PS4 look so amazing that the Vita was demoted to being a $300 accessory for it.
Howdy pawtner
>No HDMI is marketing move to make the $300 look much better, not a design flaw
>it's just jewish tricks, not a design flaw!
oh gee, that makes it so much better
Call me when they release a dedicated home console version with all that gay ass portable shit stripped out and with a lower price point because it doesn't need the cost of joycons, battery, screen, etc.
>there wasn't any way to do the touch screen/backtouchpadthingwhatever on it
You can use the Dualshock 4 touchpad for all front touchscreen operations. The backtouch can still be emulated by clicking the sticks but it's less than ideal.
Not him but it came with a Dualshock 3 and as I recall it didn't have DS4 support until well afterwards, so it didn't really help that much.
Nintendo Online "servers" are complete dogshit anyway, reducing milliseconds of lag isn't going to do jackshit. You either get a good connection or a completely unplayable one in my months of experience.
It was added before the western release, but yes there were no Dualshock 4 packs, only Dualshock 3 packs. We both know why.
Wait for the Switch Heavy that was also rumored to come along with the Lite version.
300 replies omitted.
>No you faggot, you're thinking of the wrong jeans
Yea Forums - Video Games
Get ready for even more laggy online you have pay 20$ for.
Nintendo online is fucking disgusting if you try playing with randoms.
I think it's an abortion, an entirely unnecessary product. A Switch Pro/a New 3DS-like upgrade is more exciting, but I recognize this wouldn't be my type of model anyways. I like having the option of docking it, playing in handheld and placing it on the table (tabletop is my favorite mode out of all three). It doesn't look too bad design-wise and I like that there's a D-Pad. The smaller 5.5 inch screen will be a massive dose for autism in all of us since there are games that literally have very small text in their UI, e.g. Fire Emblem. This is precisely why I often mocked the idea of this Switch model since "it'd be for ants." Be sure to have that Zoom feature turned on, or else you'll be fucked. The sticks look like they still have the same mechanism as the Joy-Con's, which means they have the same shitty rubber cap that's meant to trap dust and whatever and ends up doing jackshit, so drifting on here would be very concerning, even more so than on the Joy-Con themselves since the entire system gets affected.
Based tabletopbro. It's my favorite mode. I used the Hori stand until the adjustable charging stand came in. Both are pretty good though. Switch Lite has an indentation on the back just like the original does for the dock, so the adjustable charging stand should work on it.
>Yeah lets point a flashlight at the screen just think of all the waglan potential we'll never care about
seriously what the fuck
>all these retards getting the lite
200 bucks is not worth not being able to clamp the switch and play comfy on bed.
>was expecting it to be pocket sized
>barely smaller than the switch
Why would anyone have believed this, they do it for every single console since the GBA
This is the stupidest shit. They can redeem it with an optional dock but they just made a Switch that has none of the features of a Switch.
cannot connect to tv/10
its fucking trash and has no purpose other than giving parents a nice FUCK YOU present for their kids
NES and the Gameboy had multiple variations in the late 80s-early 90s.
They thought it wouldn't because most home consoles don't get one. IIRC the only one that did get a revision was the strictly worse wii mini.
What are the chances it has a 540p screen instead of a 720p?
Well that further pushes me toward the opinion that the Switch is a piece of shit. Wish they gave us a proper console and handheld separately.
You can still clamp it, you just need to buy an extra controller.
no they cant fag because of overheating, there are no fans
What is the screen on the current switch?
I think it's a nice idea to grab potential sales from people that haven't bought one yet, but since I already own one it's not that interesting
Low.
That is almost impossible, this thing would need its own personal dock and will rack up price back to where the current switch is anyway
the clamps depend on them being compact and rectangular. This lite is round and has the joycons conjoined so its gonna stick
The only advantage is that this has D Pad.
I dont have a switch but this might be my first
The switch does have a fan. A very small fan that vents out at the top.
I'm still waiting on a pro version before buying one. So I'm fucking disappointed.
Smart move from nintendo, they release a shitty gimped version for a lower price so they never have to cut the price of the original which will still be sold at 300 bucks
What if the Pro is TV only?
They both fit any universal tablet clamp, what are you on about?
Sneed
This would've been optimal. But it would make the current switch less optimal.
>Why buy a whole switch when I can have this neater, more portable option and plug it in with only an HDMI cable and use a extra set of joycons?
All they had to do was put a HDMI-out port on it.
The Wii also had the "family edition" which couldn't use GC stuff. The NES and SNES both had revisions as well.
>especially brand new 7nm SoCs
Nvidia doesn't have any 7nm chips out right now. RTX cards are 12nm.
will regular switch prices lower now?
it's nintendo - so definetely not
lol
"""7nm""" is just marketing. TSMC and Samsung 7nm lithographies are actually 10nm
Don't forget the Wii Mini
The point of Lite is being the cheap version; so, no. I doubt even bundles at 300$ will replace the default SKU. That'll probably happen when the Pro comes out next year.
Never use clamps that are vertical. They fuck with the vents of the Switch. Always use horizontal ones
> are actually 10nm
Even 10 nm is just marketspeak, there's nothing actually 10nm in the processor. They are just ways to discern generations of processors. Fact is AMD is two generations ahead of Nvidia and Intel, but that doesn't necessarily translate into performance.
It won't lower unless the Pro version is meant to replace the base version otherwise the Pro will be priced at 350-400 and the base and Lite will stay in price
Nigger just get a tempered glass screen protector. It makes your Switch much more kino and tolerable to deal with.
While it's good they're not following the Sony/Microsoft pattern of releasing a more powerful version every 2 years and forcing you to upgrade, I don't really see the point in releasing a stripped down portable version of an already very portable console. That said, It will still sell great because Nintendo.
>AMD
TSMC.
AMD's actual architecture still can't match Nvidia in performance per watt.
AMD designs the chips. TSMC makes the chips. They are AMD chips on TSMC silicon. Calling them AMD 7nm chips isn't incorrect.
Calling AMD's chips two generations ahead is incorrect.
The lithography is ahead, but the architecture is lagging behind.
>I don't really see the point in releasing a stripped down portable version of an already very portable console
Because it's 100$ cheaper. It's gonna sell like hot cakes.
so does this thing have gyro controls? How are you supposed to play games like gal metal where you swing the joycons ?
pls respond
>drift with super tight integrated controllers.
dumb ass
Nintende switch 330 eurobucks
Ns lite 200 (if it were dockable +80 for the dock) so really only 50 discount. Then you take into account that no detachable joycons and no hd rumble or IR so in the end is it still cheaper? (imo it schould be dockable cuz now it's the nintendo switchn't
You have to buy joycons separately, it doesn't natively support games that require joycons. Only games it natively supports are games with mobile mode.
It doesn't have joycons. You have to buy joycons separately if you want wagglan.
But user, even though we already own a switch, we were expecting this to be a more powerful version of the console with more features and at a lower price. Don't you get it? We are obligated to buy this, even though we already have one.
>Calling AMD's chips two generations ahead is incorrect. The lithography is ahead
By two generations. Intel is at 14++, Nvidia at 12. Neither have succeeded in pushing out their 10 nm products, and frankly Nvidia doesn't need to at this point. AMD is already at 7 nm.
>We are obligated to buy this
Imagine being this cucked.
Disappointed, aside from the Dpad everything else is a downgrade.
AMD is not at 7nm. TSMC is at 7nm.
Using TSMC's 7nm, AMD is only barely able to keep pace with Intel and Nvidia because AMD's architecture is inferior.
Exactly. Plenty of people still play 2D platformers, and the d-pad really can't be beat.
>AMD is not at 7nm
AMD has 7nm products in commercial circulation. AMD is at 7nm.
i think it's a cool budget option, that said
>the colors looks like shit
>needs something to cover the sticks unless it's not meant to be put in pocket
Grasping at straws
Even with a job with downtime you shouldn't be playing video games except on your lunch or break periods, which are usually so short you don't have time to get much accomplished in a game anyway.
The og switch also looks like a toy, baka
Or it means I already have a switch
its lighter, longer battery life, and in general is a better portable console. So thats the point. If you intend to play the switch portably, this is a better option
They look like they use the same shitty mechanism as the Söy-Con, dumb ass.
>y'all
y'all y'need be gassed, faggot
AMD does not manufacture those products, nor did they design the lithography.
They're not even using their old spinoff foundry, Global.
>They thought it wouldn't because most home consoles don't get one
Nobody thought it wouldn't
i look forward to calling anyone who buys one of these a switchlet once it's out
>nintendo market search shows 80% of users play docked
>WE GOTTA MAKE A HANDHELD VERSION THAT IS EVEN WEAKER!
brilliant like always
Its the same specs as base model, but docked is clearly more stable and better performance in most games
The only reason i haven't bought a switch was because of it's terrible performance and i was hoping they might make something like a Switch Pro in the future. Instead they want to release something even weaker that misses the entire point of the system, being that you could SWITCH between portable and home console. Fucking why?
>statistics show people play on handheld mode most of the time in comparison
>Nintendo doubles down on a handheld-only Switch because people are more likely to play with that than on a TV
>Nintendo saves money on hardware
Early buyers who got the Switch just so they could play on handheld mode are probably a bit pissed but not enough to justify it.
If you're looking for a "pro" version of the Switch, don't hold your breath.
>paying 2/3rds the price for a version of the Switch that can ONLY be played in portable mode
>no TV hookup
>no wired controllers
>no IR/vibration so you'll still need real joycons for certain games
>if the controls on the unit start acting up you have to replace the entire unit instead of buying a new pair of joycons
>no tabletop play with detached joycons
This shit even gimps the features you have available in portable mode with the current regular Switch.
Rumors of a Pro version surfaced with the Lite, so it is possible
It's for households with 2+ kids. Not for any of us shit heads here.
You could get a third party stand and buy joycons or a pro controller to play
Seems nice, but I think giving up a bunch of features for 100 bucks less is a bad tradeoff.
We're in the same boat, user.
Pay $300 for a Switch that can do that with 2 joycons included that can be detached, or spend $200 on a Switch Lite, then another $70 for a separate pair of joycons. Wow, a $30 saved for an inferior experience all around.
Nintendo you FUCKS.
I'm waiting for the XL before I buy. Not the shitty 2DS version.
>needs something to cover the sticks unless it's not meant to be put in pocket
It's not. They announced a carrying case for it.
>Arguing about jeans in a Nintendo switch thread
This is bizarre
All Switch games are soon emulated perfectly on PC.
If you can afford a PC you won't ever have any need for a Switch.
Don't forget a cheap kickstand if you want versatility
Welcome to Yea Forums!
I hope you understand that the post was sarcasm.
why couldn't they make the og switch dock give extra power to the console instead of wasting money with the dumb camera and rumble that inflated the price?
switch lite is an admission of defeat "you win, market research shows switch owners prefer docked" no fucking shit idiots the thing is huge and the lite isnt that smaller either, Its also WIDE OPEN so its gonna scratch and bend the sticks whenever you try to put it in your pocket, holy shit what a dumb company
How do digital games work with the Switch?
Are they tied to a single switch at a time, or can I download them and be able to play them on both Switches? This would be a great gift for my brother, but I want him to be able to play them games I already have on my instead of having to re-buy them for him.
Games are tied to your account. No idea if you can have the same account simultaneously online across multiple Switch-like devices.
I don't understand why anyone would want to play it as a handheld. Playing a game on a 42" TV is vastly better than on a 5.5" screen. There just is no debate, why purposely make the experience worse for yourself?
They're tied to the account that purchases them, and anyone on that console it's downloaded on can also play them. But if it's an online game and the second account doesnt have online, it wont let them connect to the online play.
I been playing on my 24 inch computer monitor for so long when I tried going back to a 40+ inch screen TV the input delay was ridiculous even on game mode.
On the go
This kills the neet
>battery life
It's neat for those who don't have a Switch, but if you're like me and already do, there's not much point in getting this.
Holy shit that's small, I didn't realized that until now
There are different build qualities depending on materials, craftsmanship, and plain old quality control.
Poor materials break down quicker. Poor craftsmanship means it's assembled poorly. Lack of QC, means even if the first two are solid and not crap you can still have shit pieces get through.
>nintendo is updating the original switch with a new soc and storage
Is this our Pro or something?
Like a Switch Pro? But is it even a "Switch" if you can't switch it from a console to a handheld anymore?
So is it feasible to use two switches? I'm a boomer so I dont understand cloud saves, can I easily switch between two consoles if I choose to get a lite to use on the go? I love my switch but damn I really wish saves were still on the cartridges
Is it a "Wii" if you use a classic controller and skip the waggle?
NGL, I really like the yellow color. I'd buy a normal switch if it was yellow in color, but there isn't, so this makes the Lite really tempting.
I'm sick and tired of all my electronics being black. If they were wild colors, then I could find them easier.
Yes
because at best you're still a manchild with a small dick
I don't have a TV anyway, so... I'll be buying this I think. Unless they lower the normal switch to 250 or 200 around black friday but I doubt it
...
Nintendo is the most embarrassing shit company to ever exist. What kind of brain dead idiot is calling the shots at the top making this garbage? Can't believe nintenkiddies will eat it up too like the coprophiliacs they are. Japan needs another set of nukes
But wee is urination, unrelated to dicksize or even having a dick at all
Does anyone remember Levis Hard Jeans?
Whatever happened to the "we're totally not making a new switch version guys, we promise" lol. Nintendo is as bad at keeping secrets as they are at keeping their console's unhacked.
well they're right technically since this is a complete downgrade
Eh, if the switch mini came out at the same time the original, I definitely would've got it since it's cheaper and I play undocked 99% of the time anyway.
But I got the original around launch and modded it so no regrets here.
I used to have my DS Lite in my phone pocket all the time.
I was able to carry my 3DS XL around in jeans and bike shorts and stuff, but it normally weighed them down awkwardly, no matter how I sinched my pants or how tight I made my belt. Having it on-hand wasn't worth needing to adjust my pants every five minutes when on my feet.
Go back to work, Pajeet, it's not time for your lunch-break.
>Ds Lite
Same, now Switch Lite
