Are you happy about the switch lite anons?

I'm almost considering buying one alongside my regular switch
I use TV mode too much to have not bought this one, though.

>Modding is unknown just wait on that. maybe they could add tv mode back
That an interesting observation. I never thought of that.

>real d-pad
I guess it's okay
>No joycon shit to deal with
A fine sacrifice to lower the cost
>Portable only
Worst part. Should be able to dock, even if dock isn't included.
>more battery life
>lighter
>smaller
Good
>A majority of games will run on it. Only shit like 1-2 switch and mario party won't work but they suck so who cares
Yeah that's why it's fine that they drop the joycons, they are unimportant and gimmicky.
>100 usd cheaper
It better be cheaper yeah
>Modding is unknown just wait on that. maybe they could add tv mode back
don't know

>100 usd cheaper
$50

As a switch owner with a hacked and unhacked switches im happy that its not a “pro” switch and don’t feel the need to buy this.

>No joycon shit to deal with
You do realize it's going to have the same design flaws, but be built into the unit, right? It's gonna suck when your handheld starts drifting

I would sooner expect Nintendo to have gutted all possible data outputs
The only way to do something like that would probably be tearing off the casing and connecting to the motherboard, so there would be no point in buying it.

>can't replace the joycons so when they start to drift it's GAME OVER

Attached: 1514653542998.png (1200x800, 263K)

If it's a Switch Pro controller-tier d-pad, it would still be a downgrade even compared to the JoyCon "d-pad"

I replaced the little plastic 'buckles' on my Switch with metal ones and the attachment is massively more 'positive' and solid now. No idea why they weren't like this to begin with. Gets rid of all the play, it's as good as one piece now.

Attached: s-l300.jpg (300x300, 22K)

what do they even mean by not supporting tabletop mode?, that just the little plastic thing is missing?, surely we can still lean it against something?

Attached: VJffp1B.jpg (432x360, 35K)

Chances are they wont patch games that look or run like ass in handheld mode like xenoblade or doom, no.

>build your whole console around a fucking gimmick
>literally drop support for the gimmick halfway through through the life cycle
When the fuck will console makers learn

Attached: C1E66402-35F4-4B6D-9386-621D891C36F9.png (645x773, 49K)

Does it always run downclocked or is there a less powerful chip now?

>muh dpad
autism
switchlite is overpriced shit

It only has portable performance profile, but it'll be on a new smaller (more effecient) process so it might even be passively cooled.

I think those colors are shit. Other than that, it looks pretty cool, I was holding off from buying a switch until they made a handheld/lite version of it. How is warframe on it? I wouldn't mind grinding on it for stuff.

Do we know the actual hardware specs its using yet?

>The only bad thing is removing tv mode.
That's a pretty big thing for a platform called Switch.

Attached: 1551974578104.gif (380x318, 3.67M)

>real d-pad
Gross. I prefer the dedicated directional buttons, but it would be nice if they were slightly closer together.
>No joycon shit to deal with
You just took away half the fun of having a Switch
>Portable only
Half the fun
>more battery life
>lighter
>smaller
>100 usd cheaper
These are positives, fair enough.
>A majority of games will run on it. Only shit like 1-2 switch and mario party won't work but they suck so who cares
You make this sound like a positive. This is a clear negative.
>Modding is unknown just wait on that. maybe they could add tv mode back
Just build a pc or hack your phone if you want to mod. Why would you get a Switch to play a poorly optimized emulator

>vocal group requests thing
>company gives them thing they want
>LOL WHEN WILL THEY LEARN
It's amazing how every single wojak poster is, without a doubt, completely fucking brainless.

Because it doesn't have separate controllers. I don't know if it works with that switch pro controller, but if it does. Then I guess you can lean it against something while playing.

Still no phone jacket

more like
>real d-pad like it should've been included in the first place and Nintendo is giving the bare minimum here
>No joycon shit to deal with so you have to send in the whole console when the inevitable drifting happens because Nintendo still uses cheap Taiwan parts
>No TV port which is a fucking joke
>No IR sensors which is funny as hell
>No HD rumble which is stupid
>even smaller screen because apparently the already outdated WiiU tablet wasn't small enough, and that'll look like trash with the downscaling of graphics in some games.
>too expensive for what it offers

Why would I buy a worse version of what I already have

It's using a 490 teramark bench with a fourth generation nykon chip and a die shrink radius that benefited from two years of advancements in silcone technology. Runs at 1080 fps.

>literally only reason i wanted a switch was for pokemon, odyssey, and xb2
>got to play odyssey and xb2 at a friends house in their entirety
>both pokemon games for it are dog aids
I'm still not buying it

Attached: 1541087784764.gif (280x235, 946K)

>vocal group requests thing
>company gives them thing they want
Why won't this work for Virtual Console on Switch??? In fact it's the majority, not just a minority who want this

>Yea Forums actually defends a gutted version of the switch
>their only argument is SNOY SNOY SNOY!
I've been a nintendo fan since 2000 and now I know why people hate these fucks

Attached: 9075921.jpg (919x720, 59K)

it just dawned on me that future switch games will have to take into consideration the fact that they'll have to run on an even WEAKER switch, instead of a stronger one. Hell how the fuck is TW3 even gonna run on it?

Attached: D-sWXNVU8AA4Qb3.jpg (480x578, 35K)

does this toy support Bluetooth earphones

Well obviously you don't have joycons to take out
Even if you used a separate controller, the SD card is covered by a much smaller plate
Evidently the exact same stuff as the standard model
Don't quote me on that, though

Modding is confirmed dead because the entry point is now gone with the joycons being built in.

Attached: 1525600031540.png (893x960, 491K)

>wanting to play xb2
terrible taste you fucking weeb

Please tell me more, I'm interested.

>vocal group requests thing
Literally never saw anyone request this shit besides ONE fucking autist on Yea Forums that laughed at by anyone with a brain.

>that feel when nintendo still wont let anyone but their indies in seattle on their console

I have to get a publisher which is stupid af. They take 30% of your profits

>not a single snoy/sony post itt
atleast make a shitpost your self before looking dumb

Pray tell who requested the Kinect on the Xbox one? Who requested Joycons on the switch? I can’t believe you’re this retarded

It apparently performs identically to the present Switch undocked.

They'll just start pumping out games that are dock/pro only. Thus completely fracturing the userbase and sabotaging the whole thing. It may sound outlandish, but they clearly have given up on the original switch premise, and I mean, it's Nintendo. I love their games but they make the most pants-on-head retarded decisions in the industry.

It's not weaker. It's the same tech with just less features so it's cheaper and more portable. It's the 2DS to the 3DS

>I want a switch mini
>Get switch mini
>No I don't want that
Make up your minds retards

i WANTED to play it because xcx was an interesting single player mmo
unfortunately xb2 is one of the most dull games i've ever had the misfortune of playing. the acting is trash, the animations are trash, the tutorials are egregious, party members are locked behind fucking gacha mechanics, 80% of the combat is not touching the controller, its fucking awful
just because i wanted to play it doesn't mean i liked it when i did

Why do whites make this face?

There'll still be some way to put it into firmware recovery mode, so Nintendo can fix them, but as with newer Switchs it doesn't matter since it's encrypted.

This isn't for fat 20/30 year old manchildren who already own a switch

It's for boomers to buy their zoomer kids to play Pokemon and Fortnite on the way to soccer practice, just in time for the holiday season

We already went through this with the DS Lite and 2DS. Yet here we are again, Yea Forums is so enraged that a video game company would DARE design a cheap device specifically for children

100$.

They did this exact thing for the 3DS, what were you expecting.

I even have a Switch and I can fully admit it's the worst of both worlds. It's an underpowered, under-featured console, but it's too big, bulky with trash battery life to be a portable as well. If this thing can run for more then 2-3 hours, it will probably be the better product.

Since you fucks don't understand, I'll make it clear. People wanted a Switch mini that is DESIGNED to be a handheld, to be built around the idea OF A HANDHELD.

This one however, is basically a lesser version of the Switch permanently in Handheld mode. You'll still get the issues of it, still get the drops, still get lower resolution, and worst of all, have no improvements whatsoever. Fuck you and your consumer culture

Attached: 1454043733231.jpg (303x311, 63K)

>No IR sensors which is funny as hell
>No HD rumble which is stupid
haha wait you actually care about these features?

portablefags have been used to decent d-pads and the Switch just shat on that idea. As much as I dislike the idea of a "Switch" without detachable joycon, it will hit big with certain markets. FGC and retro players to name two.

>It's the same tech
It has a weaker processor so they could reduce the fan size.

nigga it's the same tech on a smaller screen

>they make the most pants-on-head retarded decisions in the industry
I think launching this in particular is a good idea for driving sales, but where they go from here could screw with certain developers. Worst case scenario is that some games don't bother to support handheld, which could have already happened. I think it's a lot better than spitting in the face of people who bought the first model, by releasing a NEW™ one.

imagine playing doom on switch

Source: dude trust me

I'm kinda considering getting one, but I've played on a friends switch and the performance in portable mode is borderline unplayable for me. Unless they up it a bit so it can maintain a stable fps (don't care about the resolution) I'm not getting it.

I'd buy a d-pad official joycon in a heartbeat.

It doesn't matter. What REALLY matters are the games.

Attached: 469623969.png (2450x1472, 3.29M)

You stand to make so much on the eshop if you're content is good. 30% will not be missed.

Crippling disappointment of having to coexist with nonwhites

That's just how the business works, especially when it comes to Nintendo. A new console needs something new to justify the purchase. After people are hooked and a decent library of games has built up, then you can drop the bullshit.

This is how Switchfags cope with no d-pad, they gaslight themselves into believing some small shitty 3ds face buttons are better than real D-Pads.

Absolutely pathetic and quite sad to be honest.

As far as anybody knows, it has the exact same SoC. Using anything else would cost quite a bit more, the work has already been done for this one after all.

>The Switch Lite uses a more efficient processor that enables smaller heat vents on top of the system
cnet.com/news/nintendo-switch-lite-is-smaller-cheaper-and-handheld-only/

No joycons no buy. That's the only reason your switch will be usable in 10 years, the fact you can replace aging sticks and buttons with new joycons. The switch mini looks nice, but it lacks the inherant advantage the switch offers.

no. that's too high-tech for Neokiketrashitpisstendo stuck in 1989

It's the, "Ohh..you're a poor, angry minority. Sheesh.. uhh how's that working out for you? Oh, that's not good. Better luck next time, right?" face.

Have you ever actually played with the Switch d-pad extensively? I genuinely love it. The ONLY thing it's bad for is fighting games because rolling between buttons is shitty. But for anything else it's beautiful.

I'm getting one just to play in bed. Feels good being so rich that $200 is pocket change

>BotW and Mario Rabbids share tier with pokemon lgbt
Disgusting

They're saying significantly longer battery life. Could be just the smaller screen, but very very likely there's been a process shrink.

>no joycons
Etika is turning over in his grave

>People wanted a Switch mini that is DESIGNED to be a handheld, to be built around the idea OF A HANDHELD.
mmhm yes that what this is
>This one however, is basically a lesser version of the Switch permanently in Handheld mode. You'll still get the issues of it, still get the drops, still get lower resolution, and worst of all, have no improvements whatsoever.
yes that's a handheld? not sure why you're expecting an absolute powerhouse, or for them to add more powerful hardware on a cheaper model. 3DS had framerate drops, PSVITA had low res games, they're both handhelds, get over it.

Thanks for proving me right. It doesn't say it's weaker. More efficient just means better energy usage, which improves every year.

>real d-pad
ye, i guess that's ok, didn't really mind about the "d-pad" that was used for the joycon.
>No joycon shit to deal with
Drifting should hopefully be sorted with but it's a fine sacrifice.
>Portable only
FOR WHAT REASON
>more battery life
>lighter
>smaller
These are good.
>A majority of games will run on it. Only shit like 1-2 switch and mario party won't work but they suck so who cares
1-2-Switch I can agree on but I thought Mario Party was alright. NOT GOOD but alright.
>100 usd cheaper
Am britfag, this means nothing to me.
>Modding is unknown just wait on that. maybe they could add tv mode back
I dunno about that.

3DS didn’t have stick or d-pad issues, there’s no reason to think this one will have the same shitty build quality of the OG Switch, Nintendo understands that it’s handheld audience actually has standards, unlike their home console counterpart who just love buying joycons to replace their old ones.

I'd rather just get this

Attached: 61AXbLylGWL._AC_.jpg (1492x580, 61K)

Considering they reduced the fan size, I don't see how the processor itself won't be weaker too.

This exactly. I don't even undock my Switch, but this will be for around the house + friends' houses.

So its the handleheld version. I like it but would rather the regular switch.

The system has no Video Out for TV mode.

Also the swtichs joycon and a extra set means I always have 1-4 controllers on ready for others.

I like the idea of motion controls

If your a person looking at the switch as a side console like alot of people, want something cheap, a child or a person who travels alot then the Lite is PERFECT

Keep saying it.

>Nintendo stopped giving a shit about designing games with the Switch's promise of having multiple control options starting in late 2017, so a bunch of games will be gimped/annoying/impossible to play now
>missing TV play as an option (ten bucks it's still intact but lazily dummied out)
>if the drift issue persists from the Joycons you're screwed
>perpetually weaker performance
Fucking yawn. Call me when the Pro happens.

>It doesn't say it's weaker. More efficient just means better energy usage
lolno, can't change physics, if a processor produces less heat, it doesn't magically retains it's processing power. The years when processor had massive heating issues are way behind us, a reduction in fan size can only mean a weaker processor.

>trusting a JOURNALIST to be able to differentiate between efficiency and performance
I’ll wait until it’s officially announced and come to my own conclusion

Because it'll be a smaller process. So it'll so the same work using less power. That's how moore's law works (basically), and the current Switch SoC is on an old (large) process.

Scaling down the IPS panel should have a very significant effect on battery
I'm not ruling out the possibility of a more efficient processor, but I strongly doubt that Nintendo would want to re-optimize for a weaker one. A significant amount of the games already tread a fine line for what can be done on the hardware with adaptive resolution and the like.

>Yea Forums bitches and cries that there is no cheaper dockless Switch with a d-pad

>Nintendo announces a cheaper dockless Switch with a d-pad

>Yea Forums bitches

This is why the industry doesn't pander to us anymore.

>joycon drift
>when there are no motion controls

literally have to throw away after 6 months when sticks start to drift lmao. nintendo is the new apple

>>real d-pad
Neat
>>No joycon shit to deal with
I use mine unattached sometimes so eh
>>Portable only
I play docked more than handheld but it's good for people who do the opposite
>>more battery life
I would hope so considering it's focused on handheld gaming
>>lighter
>>smaller
Preference. I wouldn't mind a smaller switch though but I'm ok with my current size
>>A majority of games will run on it. Only shit like 1-2 switch and mario party won't work but they suck so who cares
Fair point, but that leaves me wondering if they'll have games that can only run docked/don't support handheld
usd cheaper
Don't really care
>>Modding is unknown just wait on that. maybe they could add tv mode back
Don't really care
>The only bad thing is removing tv mode.
I play pretty much only docked so this thing is not for me. It will probably the 2ds of the switch so it will still probably sell anyways, but I know I won't pick it up.

I'm happy because since it's not a portable-only one I have zero reason to care about it. Had the released an actual improved switch in general I might have been annoyed. I only play on the TV so this is useless for me.

It's cheaper. Everyone understands that things must be removed for a cheaper price. Keep up with the rest of the class.

>Source: DUDE JUST FUCKING TRUST ME OKAY???

It's the sticks that drift you mongoloid

Consume.

Why do people keep posting that autists chart? I BTFO him personally with a bunch of anons before he added the "official" banner. And despite the edits other anons made, why the hell is lets go eevee and pikachu on different tiers? They're both equally shit

So basically wait a few weeks/months to see if the joycons start to drift, if they improved the build quality then Lite is objectively the best version.

It's the opposite of what I wanted, so atleast I'm saving money and can continue to wait.

>DS Lite
But that one is superior in every way to the original DS.

Have you ever actually played with the Switch d-pad extensively?

It's fine
Pros
>only $200
>more battery life
>smaller
>d-pad
>looks sturdier than the original
Cons
>no TV output
>no HD rumble or even basic rumble
>some great games are objectively better docked like Mario Odyssey and Hyrule Warriors
>kind of defeats the whole purpose of tabletop play
>hackability is up in the air
If I hadn't had a Switch by now I'd get it, but I'm more than happy keeping my original

Attached: 1524873566164.jpg (1280x882, 57K)

Which games will be hard to play now? 1 - 2 Switch?? I mean, I actually like that game, but most people are happy to sacrifice that. The Lite does not replace the Switch.

I can't even sell a friend on this because its gutted so badly. The only thing I could tell him is its $100 cheaper and it has a real d-pad, but even then you may as well just put in an extra $80 for a used Switch to get the best experience possible from the console itself. No dock support at all, no freedom of joy cons and some games may feel awkward because of that (Mario Odyssey for example), and say goodbye to having any sort of good online connection at all because you can't use ethernet because again no dock and you'll be forced to play in 720p handheld mode or god forbid even worse resoultions like something in Xenoblade 2. Seriously what the fuck

ur mom drifts cuz she fat haha

>undocked so games run like ass
>they haven't fixed the dead joycons so you have to replace the entire console when it fucks up
>sub 720p
>white buttons
>calls itself portable but still has no ergonomics and is made for people with tiny hands

>Because it'll be a smaller process. So it'll so the same work using less power
Please don't tell me you typed this with a straight face.

Attached: 1562194960366.png (500x416, 257K)

How does nintendo keep getting away with this jewery? What reason do they have for not including dock and joycon support? Having the dock and joycons be separate would be fine, but they can't include a pass-through and and a bluetooth sensor? They literally get a free pass for all this bullshit.

>defeats the whole purpose of tabletop play
There is no tabletop play at all, the Lite doesn't have a kickstand.

Yeah, I mean I don't think releasing a smaller, joycon-less revision is bad in and of itself, but power should be on par with the original (which I don't think we officially know yet) and it should still be able to dock and you know... switch.

As a day one Switch owner I'm honestly okay with a pro version maybe like a year from now. The lite version doesn't bother me either since it provides nothing I don't already have. I mean there's going to be either an upgraded version or a new platform entirely, so why get upset? It's just the way of things. I personally like the idea of the Switch, so I'd be cool with a Switch 2 or whatever. I have my PC for everything else.

H-he's big!!

>>Modding is unknown
Modding is never ever. It's well after they started patching out the RCM exploit and the only known exploit that doesn't require you to have a Switch with the RCM exploit was patched out in 7.0.1.

Yes, it’s not a real d-pad, stop gaslighting yourself.

Attached: vbOnElO.jpg (1944x2592, 2.68M)

I don’t think it needed to exist but whatever. I just hate that all future games now have a cheap excuse to not have HD Rumble.

>basic bitch tetris version (b-b-but it's battle brapyale!) being god tier exclusive
sad

>if they improved the build quality then Lite is objectively the best version.
yeah nah

>release cheaper version of the console for a different demographic
>wtf why is it different!?

you can just buy the regular one, you know?
or even buy none at all and wait for the switch pro?

I dunno man, I used my DS Lite for years and never had any problems with the D-Pad.

>if they'll have games that can only run docked/don't support handheld
Nintendo has good support for resolution changing. DOOM runs at something like 600p on average for handheld mode, so a lot of games could take advantage of it just to appeal to a wider audience. It would look even worse, but at least it would play.
I would prefer that Nintendo release Metroid, Bayonetta, Pokemon, et cetera before moving to new hardware. That way, we get what we were promised without the caveat of having to buy a new system. I'm fine with a revision after that happens.

When is Nintendo going to make a Joy-con Pro that doesn't fucking break after three months of normal usage

Why do people care about rumble anyway?

>Nintendo circlejerks themselves over the fact you can play both on the go and on the telly
>release a revision that only does half the job
ok

>HD Rumble

IT BOOMMS BOOMS IN MY HANDS IT FEELS FUNNY AHH I LOVE RUMBLE BROMMMM BROMMMI LOVE HOLDING A CONTROLLER THAT SHAKES AND VIBRATES

Battery life is only 20-30% better apparently.

>Nintendo stopped giving a shit about designing games with the Switch's promise of having multiple control options starting in late 2017, so a bunch of games will be gimped/annoying/impossible to play now
retard, games like BOTW, Mario Odyssey, Splatoon, ARMS, etc. have optional motion controls, meaning that they can still be played fine with buttons and sticks. the system itself still has gyro anyways.
>missing TV play as an option
correct, so stick with the classic switch, or this """totally better pro version""" you people keep talking about
>if the drift issue persists from the Joycons you're screwed
>if
>perpetually weaker performance
>perpetually
and plus, i'm pretty sure it's just the same tech on smaller screen

They did, that'll be 79.99 + tip

Sorry but Lite doesn’t require a yearly 80$ pay to buy new joycons, cope and seethe AND dilate.

I see, that kind of sucks. I'm surprised at how many times I've actually used the Switch during outings for a quick multiplayer game of Mario Kart.

Werent nincels gloating about HD rumble back when the Switch was brand new?

seems retarded to have no dock support at all, even at 720p with something like pic related

Attached: innoaura.jpg (355x355, 14K)

Yes I am very happy with it and I’ll buy one. The only problem is the 60$ price point for games, but I can borrow a lot of games from friends and family.

Cuz I'm gonna make your whole life crumble.

Directional buttons > Single button
You have objectively more precision when you input directional buttons instead of rolling across one button hoping you get the right direciton and that your d-pad doesn't break after a while. PS3 had the best 'd-pad' because it wasn't a single button, it was multiple directional buttons you could press separately. With PS4 they threw all that out the window to give us a shitty single d-pad, just like Xbox 360. As of now:
>PS3 'd-pad'
>Switch directional buttons
>Xbox One d-pad
In that order. Everything else is trash and serviceable. The only thing that needs to be fixed with Switch's directional buttons is to move them closer to each other and/or make them the shape of the d-pad similar to PS3 but making them still be separate inputs. The single-button D-pad ruins all of that. I hate fight sticks because of this, and it's also why hitboxes are better than fight sticks, you just have objectively more control over your inputs. More control/More options > less control/less options. This isn't even a debate. Separate input buttons are objectively better than a single input button with multiple points of potential failure/error. NO DEBATE.

Attached: 100939457131.jpg (1000x667, 212K)

No?

Fuck it I'll pay, better than paying $40 every other month. Where is it

Real witty response dumbass, here's your (You).

Tendy defense force out as usual.

Is it actually smaller than a regular Switch or the same size? I can't really tell in the video about it. I find the regular Switch horrible as a portable device since it's just too big. Anything that needs a case to take around is shit to me. (and yeah you might be able to stuff it in your pocket anyway, but you can hardly sit down then) 3DS XL already was a little bulky, but it still fit comfortably in a pocket. I know this thing isn't that small, but much bigger is still shit.

>he thinks nintendo is going to let them use this and not just block output with software

>3D games
>New revision doesn't have 3D function
Who cares

I'm not gaslighting myself, I'm just describing my experience with it. I've owned a pro controller since day 1 and I still play 2D games with the joycons in the grip because I like the d-pad on them. The exception is fighting games, which I play exclusively on the pro controller. The one advantage a cross d-pad has over the 4 separate buttons is the ability to make half-circle and quarter-circle rolls much more easily, but for everything else I genuinely enjoy using the separate buttons. They're small and close enough together that I can move from one direction to another very easily, and the separation means I never have accidental inputs. Even on really good d-pads you occasionally get accidental up or down presses, it's just the nature of the design; not so on the joycons.

>BotW gyro Shrines
>Super Mario Odyssey's better moves
>Super Mario Party

So is this worth it if I'm a poorfag without a switch?

How well does it sit in a pair of MAN hands?
Once had a 3DS but my hands cramped up after 10 minutes of use.

Attached: 1431508287296.png (546x432, 283K)

I hope it sells well so we get more third party stuff

>Let's go shares a tier with xenoblade 2, mario rabbits, AND botw
I'm not sure if the retard who made this list is shilling lets go or shitting on the actual good games on the console.

>Nintendo in charge of system security
How many times did they "fix" the 3DS so that it would definetly be absolutely 100% impossible to modify this time pinky swear?

Didn’t read lmao, noone that thinks the joycons d-pad is acceotable is worth reading anyway, get back to playing Fortnite, retard.

Too late, user.

Almost everything people wanted only to be ruined by no TV mode.

that's what I'm saying, it's retarded that you wont be able to do that

They did though, i remember all the hype for that Senran Kagura spinoff that used HD rumble

unserviceable*

yeah you only have to buy a whole new $200 system when things go wrong you fuckin retard

Keep saying it.

Seems like it yes.
You're going to be missing out on some notable features that I personally really like but for only $200 it's a good tradeoff.

2DS made sense because children with underdeveloped eyes could get to play on a 3DS just without the 3D effect's health risks. This is just "oh let's make it cheaper because it will sell so so well, thanks Pokémon!" I mean, you could just leave the Söy-Con attached and play in handheld mode in the existing model, but apparently people have woman-sized hands even worse than Drumpft, so.. here's this.

Kek, it doesn't help there are a fuckton of games on Switch right now that have small text sizes in their UI and they'll look hilariously tiny on this 5.5 inch screen. This is why I constantly mocked the people who wanted such a product by saying this would be a Switch for ants. Those faggots should be glad they have a Zoom function added in the latest firmware version, because without it'd they'd be fucked.

Attached: 1552144711676.jpg (236x237, 10K)

I mean I'd probably have bought this over a standard switch if both had been available.
That said, I'm glad I got my standard switch since I've cracked mine and can play everything Nintendo for free.
>inb4 online meme
Yeah, Nintendo sucks donkey balls at online. Like I Want to use a fucking smartphone to talk to friends or pay a fee to play via peer to peer. A fucking joke.

Yes I am.

Why are original switch owners so fucking mad about this though?

They all knew this was coming but denied the hell out of it because"Nintendo would Never sell the switch without the gimmick" despite the 2ds doing exactly that.

This doesn't devalue the original switch unless you wanted a true portable.

The switch lite will be a hit. The original switch isn't a true portable, it doesn't fit in your pocket. It also has a dpad. They fixed the problem. That's all that matters.

If you want to play 2 players with those tiny joycons on a 7 inch screen the option is still there. But for those of us who think the waggle gimmick is stupid will enjoy this.

>Different people have diferent opinions

WHOA, I'm sorry you are too used to reddit echo chambers.

it'll be more to the tune of the 3DS XL so just don't be a lard ass.

Nintendo true handhelds never break, dilate harder and remember those rails at the side will eventually fuck up too, cope.

I use portable 99% of the time anyways, but not having the option there for the handful of games that are just objectively better docked kind of sucks.

It's smaller but not by a whole lot. Just google it, I don't have the image.

This, the screen is too big for the undocked resolution it has.

>calling people children when he wants a portable to play pokieman on the bus
Uhhhhh

>The only thing that needs to be fixed with Switch's directional buttons is to move them closer to each other
I disagree, they're close enough as it is. If they were much closer to each other then I could get accidental presses due to my thumb bridging over multiple buttons too easily.

Are you stupid? I play Fortnite with keyboard + mouse.

What the fuck is this shit? When will Nintendo give up on handhelds? Zoomers care more about the Zombiepads than any handheld console.

>why is it missing features?
To save $100? Are people retarded? They can't change the actual hardware because it needs to run the same games in similar quality. The only way to decrease the cost is to cut down on features. Don't be poor and buy the regular version.

>all the people on Yea Forums who said "THEY ARENT COMING OUT WITH A SWITCH LITE ANYTIME SOON DURR HURR I NEED TO DEFEND MY PURCHASE!!!"

I will say, it being portable only kinda sucks though. Would be cool ONLY if its resolution is quite high and you can easily hack it to play different emulators, like the PSVita.

Attached: JC.jpg (500x500, 144K)

You can't be this stupid. This is literally what each new generation of processors does.

>Nintendo Switch
>Switch
>can't switch between portable and TV mode

???

Attached: What.jpg (459x351, 17K)

How comfortable is this shit in your hands? I'm asking about the regular switch not this one. I'm considering getting one, but it looks uncomfortable as fuck to hold.

>can't buy physical games
Idk about this one boys

I'd buy it if it's hackable but I'm almost sure it won't be

I feel really sad for you and your closed-minded approach to life.

I don't think anyone with the OG switch is annoyed by this at all. Maybe some hardcore portable fags, but I'm guessing no docking is a huge turn off for a majority. This thing is targeted for getting parents to buy in conjunction with pokemon.

fuck no

Attached: Screenshot_2019-07-10-09-20-41-055.jpg (1236x313, 150K)

What will happen to all games that suck major dick undocked? Xenoblade 2 and Hyrule Warriors come to mind

I don't understand who this is for or how it can even be called a "switch" either.

Agreed, they should rename it to the Nintendo Brick™.

As it is now, it's too far away for me. On PS3 I had a way to input the directions easily by rolling my thumb over them. I have to move my whole thumb now since they're too far apart. Try playing King of Fighters like that. I have to rush which makes me not press the button hard enough so I mess up the input. But I wouldn't have made this mistake on PS3.

So with this it appears they're finally dropping the 3ds. What my question is why would they drop the support of HDMI out? It seems like a pointless cost cutting measure like when they didn't include a power adapter with the first batch of 2ds's

Attached: ugvZ0FK.jpg (3604x5406, 1.81M)

I was holding back form buying one just because of this, now I can just buy the regular one and not feel like I missed out

>dilate
>look mom i said it again!
>cope
>oh mom i said this one again too! mom i'm so witty, right?
>aren't you proud of me?
>mom?
Disgraceful. Your family hates you and whatever friends you have want nothing to do with you. Come up with your own shit, you brainwashed bitch.

ouch user you know the power of meme magic, imagine if the name catches and those things actually start bricking.

Attached: sonic 3.jpg (466x717, 45K)

These are my feelings on it too.

People wanted to keep the TV mode to enjoy HD games, but wanted a newer design and better specs, and maybe a few bucks off.

For shame, Ninty. Though I guess there is a market for "portable only".

>Nintendo 2ds
>2d
>the console isn't a two-dimensional plane that's invisible if you look at it from the side

???

Keep saying it baby i love you, keep saying it.

They will continue to suck major dick.

Weird, i’m playing Xeno 2 50% docked and 50% handheld and still plays great.

pretty uncomfortable for adult hands, i had to buy comfort grips. they're cheap but still..

Attached: SwitchComfortGrips.jpg (1500x1500, 135K)

I know rumble and IR are gone, but it at least still has gyro, right? It seemed a little unclear.

>he actually thinks this
There's been high quality pictures these faggots have put out and the analog sticks seem to have the same fucking mechanism as the existing Joy-Con, the same shitty useless rubber cap and everything. So you're fucked over there.

when are they making real d-pad joycons to match the minis?

OG Switchfag FUMING lmao

>every month
How bad so you treat your fucking controllers?

I would unironically be fine with a handheld called The Brick. It would stand out at the very least.

nope.avi

this
glad it's just the standard "cheap piece of shit so kids can play pokemon" revision like the 2DS so I don't feel burned on buying early. That feeling will come next year instead when they announce the Switch Pro

I have little hands and I still find the joycon, both handheld and detached, uncomfortable without the grip. It's fine for short rounds of gaming but if you're going to be at it for a while, you'll want the grip or a pro controller. That said, for what they are, they aren't terrible until they start drifting.

Hori put out a d-pad Joycon though it's missing some features of the full thing

>t. seething sixaxis fan

it should, it's needed for BotW, right?

It does have gyro, retard.

I still have no idea how the Switch sold so well. Expensive, crappy graphics, boring design, garbage tablet resolution. Was there really a market for TV-to-mobile portability? Guess so.

Attached: 1485727372008.gif (254x196, 1.8M)

Faggots, basedboys, trannies, women/feminazis, etc. The appeal of Switch was to play however you wanted. With this that idea just goes away and you're left with... a modern rendition of the GBA. It'll sell like hotcakes for sure, but what problem is this solving in the market exactly?

You're right that it's not great for fighting games, but I prefer a cross d-pad for those because they're just generally better at rolling motions anyway. I stick with the pro controller for fighting games and I'm okay with it. If the buttons were closer together they might become better for rolls but I'd be worried about accidental presses, and the inability to make accidental presses is exactly why I love it in the first place for things like precise platformers.

HD Rumble is legitimately cool as fuck in the games that use it well like Gunvolt, shame to see it go.

call me when its hacked to hell and back

Attached: 1482948728762.gif (256x192, 267K)

When they start drifting so much, it'll make you go mentally ill and pull an Etika. JOYCONBOYZ!

Mind elaborating a little bit on this?

Attached: 1561388398853.png (112x112, 16K)

Without shitting on the original model, I welcome a handheld-focused model. I didn't want the original. This is basically a NIntendo complement to my Vita. Unfortunately, Splatoon is dead or dying, so one of my main incentives for getting the Switch is going out the window, but I might pick it up later for other titles.

How big is it? Vita size would be the ideal dedicated portable Switch size imo.

I don't care about it for myself but it's nice for others I guess.

50 ports and 3 new games WOW

The Switch Lite coming out confirms rumours of the 2 different models so yeah pretty happy for now.

nope post proof otherwise Nintendumb

Attached: Screenshot_2019-04-05-21-37-16-024.jpg (331x437, 66K)

The handheld mode is a good idea in theory but I hate holding the damn thing like that. It's the most uncomfortable way to play. Playing Smash in handheld mode is the most retarded feeling thing ever. This is made for poor kids and ramen eating NEETs.

>Was there really a market for TV-to-mobile portability?
It's more the idea of being able to play mainline games on the street, I never thought I'd have to consider that retarded idea for myself until I learned I'd start to have to go out of my dungeon.

Remind me but didn't a bunch of Switch games had drops of performance on handheld mode?

Attached: 1562536685532.jpg (1920x1080, 203K)

the screen should fill up the whole space but besides that its perfect.

Dilate and re-stitch, retard, look it up yourself.

I disagree, I'll always prefer a GCN controller but I actually spent most of my time in Ultimate with portable and didn't have any problems with it.

Imagine the hate that's going to come nintendos way if this version still has drift.

Depends on the game. Some actually perform better in handheld. Others are better docked.

Not everything revolves around Yea Forums, dipshit

If I remember correctly the metal bit ruins the plastic overtime im not sure if its a great idea overall, but it may be different for each person.

I've got bad news for you, kid. The Dualshock 3 has a single piece of plastic for the d-pad. They're only separated above the casing. See pic related from this video: youtu.be/-1ndPbM6VGY?t=423

Attached: Capture.png (894x533, 766K)

The gimmick was not retarded enough to turn people off and actually sold it for some. Unlike the Wii-U which was so shit it was forgotten immediately. That and it had a pretty decent game library and most of them were exclusives.

>neet shaming
imagine being this unaware of what board you're posting on

Attached: Screenshot_2019-04-28-14-37-54-896.jpg (520x430, 137K)

Why did they keep the uncomfortable shape?

Not that I would ever do it, but the original package having 3 lithium batteries made it a nightmare to ship internationally, you had to split it into separate packages.

Less batteries to worry about is nice.

Great so NO ONE asked for this.

shameless. shill pls go.

Yes this is literally what I wanted.

>some perform better in handheld
How the fuck does that work?

Splatoon really isn't well suited for handheld play to be honest. You'd be better off with a Pro Controller for that.

The 3D on 3DS could be restricted with parental controls.
Nintendo said that the primary reason they made the 3DS was simply the price point for people who couldn't afford the more expensive models (or later on, the Switch itself).

I hope people don't waste money on this.

Totally aware. Hence why I said it.

out of all the marketing posts on this board you choose to attack the sketchy hardware mod that's probably $2 on Ali?

There's a handful of games that are just outright better in docked, though mostly nothing gamebreaking
>Mario Odyssey's Joy-con moves are just way easier to do with detached Joy-cons
>Hyrule Warriors drops to 30fps because the morons at Koei didn't bother actually dropping the resolution in portable
>Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is ridiculously low resolution in portable and has a disgusting sharpening filter on top of that
Some games actually run a bit better portable and the smaller 720p screen can do a lot to hide downgrades made for portable mode, it's something you have to take on a case by case basis.

I just wanted a cheap pokemon machine, and now I can get one, so yes I am happy. too bad there is no good looking pokemon game for the switch coming out anytime soon, maybe the second series this generation will provide something worth buying

>no proof
>zoomer meme words

Go out more

I'd get it if there was tvout

I'd get them if they didn't have the faggoty branding desu

>Was there really a market for TV-to-mobile portability?
Yes. I hate to be the guy that brings up Snoy but if PSPs were still a thing it would have some kind of screen mirroring which is more useful than a dock (although more battery consuming)

Modded mine and pirated the shit out of offline games, so I will definitely get this for online games, but only if it's confirmed the stick drift problem was fixed. Hopefully someone does a teardown soon after it comes out.

Overcompensating for the drop in system performance

>Some actually perform better in handheld
Which ones?

Why would you hate to bring up Sony the kings of console hardware?

I'm 100% sure it will be possible, they just didn't want to make a new dock sku

BOTW

meanie

Attached: 1534567520864.jpg (748x1024, 103K)

>Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is ridiculously low resolution in portable and has a disgusting sharpening filter on top of that
That pisses me off and the fact they haven't bothered fixing that shit. Its low resolution would be perfectably acceptable for a 3DS game, but with 720p being Switch's native resolution and there being increased horsepower you'd think they'd use the additional processing to make it look better. Fucking idiots at Monolith. But hey the titties (we all love them) and VGM, so good!

Programming and optimization, especially with ports. Like for example, and I'm just throwing random numbers out here, if a game was designed to run at 720p at a core clock of 1000Hz, trying to force it into 1080p at 1300Hz might be asking to much. It's way more complex than that and a lot of other factors come into play, but that's the simplest way I can describe it.

Most recently, off the top of my head is Red Faction.

They took every pointless feature out with the Switch Lite.
I love it.

who the fuck asked for this piece of shit? kill yourself retard

Attached: 1555964324035.jpg (554x555, 20K)

>That pisses me off and the fact they haven't bothered fixing that shit
how when the console can't handle the game?

What's the price tag? The yellow one looks cute.

It does support Joycons though. They mention it in the trailer.

I do not understand not including Bluetooth headphone support in their extra-portable version of their console though. That's fucking retarded.

Based handheld chad, let’s dab on these TV cucks.

Will the Nintendo peripherals still cost $70+? Or actually, I guess I wouldn't need a controller...

Boy I hope there's a bundle deal with Astral Chain + New Switch Lite.

Seems like they're just making an affordable option to allow the Pokemon players to make the jump from 3DS more easily.

200usd

It should be able to. No excuse.

Sonyfags would get mad if he pointed out the others.

I just hope there's a good bundle with Mario Maker

$200

It looks like a portable fighting game machine now. If the price is ok in my country fuck i'll bite

whites people love the office

That's nice. Don't see much point to it having a Switch, but some people I know deem theo riginal a bit too heavy.

the dpad is terrible for diagonal movement. i sold my normal ds for the dslite and it was really bad in comparison.

I'd buy these if they still had gyro and HD rumble, both of which DxM makes use of

strawpoll.me/18299588
vote your thoughts

It's not for me, it's the cheap version for children.

It has gyro. The lack of HD rumble sucks though.

My 10 year old plays on the thing in handheld for hours when I let him. Actually he's been doing it since he was 8. If an 8 year old can handle it, I would hope a full-grown adult can. Comfort of the joy cons is another issue, but still. It's not a bulky system.

I think it's great but have no intention of getting one

There were threads for weeks, months ago, talking about ideas for the new version and tons of people were describing literally this design.

where is the 'i don't give a fuck because switch has no games' option?

I hope they don't ruin the BOTW sequel so that it runs well on this thing.

would have got it just to have a smaller more comfortable and solid handheld but i use the tv too much so I'm not interested

They're not all necessarily grown adults, but some of them do have had repeated problems with their wrists.

All the press releases on it I've seen specifically mention it has no gyro

Yes, I pretty much just play handhelds so this is exactly what I wanted.
I fucking knew they were going to release a revision someday. Glad I waited, I just want to play Animal Crossing and a few other games.

Well, put yourself in Monolith Soft and Nintendo's position and it makes sense from a resource perspective
>Game already sold as well as it will, the only people who would appreciate performance bumps are people who will bought it but haven't beaten it already
>Monolith Soft is being redirected to work on BOTW2 and new projects
>better to optimize new games than old ones

On the retard bus where it belongs.

I mean, it's the same chipset as the normal Switch
So if it runs well on the Normal Switch handheld (which BOTW1 did I think), then I can't imagine the performance would drop too significantly on this

>Nintendo made a Vita
>Suddenly it's an amazing achievement that everyone has been waiting with bated breath for
It's not fair vitabros...

so it supports external joycons, but doesn't seem to have a stand to prop it up. you just lay it flat on a table and bend your neck over it? seems uncomfortable, but i guess if you really want motion controls you can deal with it.

BOTW runs fine in portable already so I'm not sure what you're getting at here.

>Get called a retard by nintendo fans for insisting this could be announced soon after e3 because that's exactly what they did with the 3ds xl
>It happens

Nintendo fans are stupid and I'm enjoying the hell out of this.

Now, what sucks about this is that it doesn't have removable joycons but STILL doesn't have positional offset for the controls. That's shit ergonomics.

No Nintendo actually included real L2/R2 buttons lmao

No, you'd prop it up against a book or something, I imagine.

I mean that's fair, but that's got to be a large minority, and there's also the option to play docked or tabletop. The point is, you either have to be a real pussy or rightfully disabled to complain about the "bulk" of the Switch.

I don't know why you would get this if you can't even play it on the TV.

Attached: 1562676473620.gif (301x312, 831K)

I'm indifferent to it.

>Switch lite
>can' t switch

Whats the point then?

How will you catch pokemon with stickied d-pad?

If you don't want to play it on the TV and save $100

sure, anyone would use a wall or something. but i figure a stand is a weird omission when tabletop mode is still an intended playstyle.

>2ds
>No 3D
Same deal. A lot of people don't play their switch on their tv.

You use the adjustable charging stand for the original. It has the same hole at the back.

>mfw the Switch Lite is basically my vita with a trigger grip
I'm not even mad. Vita had a nice ride.

It's just smaller and no tv support

>its not a handheld!
>nintendo completely drops the pretense
where did those posters go? it is a mystery

The only thing that really bugs me about this is seeing people who were ragging on the vita for having a lot of ports just gush over the switch getting almost nothing but ports.

I don't think they even like video games.

ah-bloo-bloo

I just wanted a home only version, i dont need the portability and never will.

>people shitpost for the sake of shitposting
Wow color me surprised

You can just get a cheap kickstand, you pretty much need one for the original model anyways since the included stand blows.

Where can I find a cheap l2/r2 grip for the phat Vita? It'd be perfect for playing PS1 games if I didn't have to do weird touchscreen workarounds for some games.

this ffs

>The only bad thing is removing tv mode
I play almost exclusively on handheld mode, same back then with my Wii U, so for me this is the perfect Switch.

To be fair, a lot of Vita ports from home systems are just straight trash while the Switch's are at least last gen console quality. It hurts to say that as a Vitaboi for life but it's true.

There's a ton of them. just search l2 r2 and your vita model.

I got my grip for the slim for about 20 bucks. You're not going to find a trigger grip for the 1000 for less than 30 dollars, and you will be paying for shipping on top of that. You can search eBay or Play-Asia.

Only a few were straight trash, like borderlands and jak and daxter. The vast majority were fine.

It's no different from the switch, which also has a TON of shit ports.

Oh wait, I just found one for 30 bucks. Yeah, that's probably the lowest price you'll find. Just search ebay for one.

>removing features and gimmicks that make it interesting in the first place
will be shit just like the 2DS

Even more joycon shit to deal with because you cant even switch them out once they start drifting after 2 months

>new switch that doesn't have anything to switch
Uh, wtf Nintendo?

>buy this
>get cucked once Nintendo announces Lite Pro aka Switch's New 2DS
ISHYGDDT

>The only thing that really bugs me about this is seeing people who were ragging on the vita for having a lot of ports
Except that never happened.
People shat on it because
1) it had no system sellers
2) it was an ergonomic nightmare
3) it's games were ported leaving it only with nip shovelware, not the other way around

I was in hundreds of vita threads on Yea Forums.

It happened, a lot.

oh no

oh no do you guys see whats happening? its pokemon red and blue all over. its gonna be the same fucking console, but with features removed from each one so each one can only be used for hand held, or portable

and then the locked to "console type" stuff is gonna creep in...the pokemon go version of pokemon on the handheld, that youll need to take around to physical places, but then theres the console only with a more features to make up for that "loss"

theres gonna be on disc dlc. and on console dlc. on console dlc and your gonna have to buy two consoles to get your whole game

Attached: terri-schiavo.jpg (260x195, 7K)

Nice "portable" bro

>I was in hundreds of vita threads on Yea Forums.

god what a depressing sentence

Every single "HD" port from PS2 except for MGS is straight up abysmal. The downgrade for games ported from PS3/PS4 is much larger compared to Switch too, just look at the horrid RE Revelations 2 port.
There are some pretty good ports but even they're heavily compromised in ways that Switch ports usually aren't.

Oh no, I like video games and talking about video games, how terrible.

just buy it gaijin!

So if the joystick or button stop working you have to get a new console? Sounds great

Nintendo could literally shit in the ground and nintendofans would eat it up and love it. "For iwata" lmao

This is almost exactly what I wanted but it's just too big still. I feel like they could've gone all in on portability since it's not flagship but I guess this is a compromise for poorfags who just want a cheap switch.

Attached: skelly.jpg (125x125, 5K)

no dock functionality makes it useless really. I mean I use my switch portably, but I use the dock frequently.

Can this play movies/netflix

>except for MGS is straight up abysmal
But Sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank were fine? God of War would have been better with less sound compression, but the game runs well enough. The only actually poor port was Jak and Daxter.
>they're heavily compromised in ways that Switch ports usually aren't.
Isn't it often the case that Switch ports run worse than other versions? How is it not compromised?

Does the lite still have gyro for splatoon for example?

fucking skelly
yes

Yes nigger, it does

Of course you'd complain about it being portable only, your weak bone hands probably can't hold the Switch for very long

unironically if you actually want to discuss games, your seriously better off at reddit or something. if you come here for anything but shitposting i dont know what to say.

>no dock functionality makes it useless really.
>I mean I use my switch portably

Attached: 1556954494748.jpg (246x304, 22K)

It's like being angry that mini-disc died

>your

Sly Cooper is passable, but R&C and especially God of Sub-20fps are far from fine.
>Isn't it often the case that Switch ports run worse than other versions?
Yes, but at least they actually resemble their console counterparts more often than not.

>"The Nintendo Switch will not be a 3DS replacement, it is our next mainline console replacing the Wii U"
>by the way the 3DS is now obsolete
I only used my Switch as a home console anyway so I don't really care, but it's bizarre how much flip flopping this thing does between the "it's just a console"/"it's just a handheld" argument. They should have settled on this from the start instead of being a weak console or a battery limited handheld. It's smarter to compete for the handheld market where nobody else is trying.

>no TV out for no discernible reason
pass

informal setting, level your grammer nazi skill up and try again later

That's not true. Sly and ratchet were fine, some of the jak games were okay, and then tons of other ports like disgaea 3, 4, odin sphere, muramasa, and ninja gaiden were fine.

There's more ports that run closer to how borderlands 2 did on vita on the switch than there are on the vita.

For someone who doesn‘t have a switch
>nice dpad
>nice pokemon edition
But I don‘t like the non tv thing. Hopefully there will be a pokemon switch version

based take, kike cucklassa.

It's objectively a handheld that is able to connect to a TV and increase its clock speed when doing so.

Sounds like a great product, if it had been released 2 years ago when the Switch came out. The hardware is so dated at this point that paying 200 dollary doos for this shit is a straight up scam.

Only played R&C1, but I'm pretty sure that ran at 30FPS.

>informal setting means I get to be an illiterate who can't use proper English

>nobody else is trying
You kinda forget that mobile swallowed this market up. Japs don‘t buy handhelds they play gacha on phones

30fps and horrible input lag is not good for a platformer.

>but at least they actually resemble their console counterparts more often than not.
The vita ps2 ports, aside from being not even all of ports it got by far, all easily resemble what the console counterparts were. Pretty much all of them run at higher res than the console version.

Ratchet also runs and looks fine, so I really don't think you know what you are talking about.

>kike cucklassa.

Attached: D4Ux-AaUwAAbU_t.png (327x375, 146K)

>I was in hundreds of vita threads on Yea Forums
Do you really believe you were the only one here in a vita thread? For the most part you guys were left alone in your own threads anyway, you didn't get shit unless you invaded a 3ds thread and even then it was never insulted for the fact that it received ports.

>Switch Pro misses Splatoon entirely
It's not a complete waste to get in early.

that's an opportunity for $60 HDMI out + charging dongle ;^)

>Pretty much all of them run at higher res than the console version.
Barely, and it's still subnative.

and a number of the ports got major performance downgrades, ratchet and jak being the obvious ones.

30 fps isn't a problem in ratchet and clank and I have no idea what input delay you are talking about. It's definitely not there in 2/3 from when I played those on vita.

i was hoping they would really go the other way, so it could just be a tv only, cheaper switch. I mean who the hell unironically plays videogames in public. I go out in public to be a functioning adult, i save my weeb degeneracy for the basement.

No
I just bought a switch last week. My heart jumped a bit when I first saw this announcement but reading further into it I’m glad I bought the regular one

The Vita port of 1 has horrific input delay.

>Barely, and it's still subnative.
>They don't resemble their console counterparts
>Okay they run at higher res than their console counterparts but they still don't count!

You need to stop.

>its not proper english
>as he types informally, using a > to imply an implication, which isnt proper english, literally discrediting himself in the very same...not a sentence.

yeah

Still can't backup my saves. Still not buying.

Ninja Gaiden is borderline unplayable if you've ever played any other version. I mean on a technical level getting the nice looking Sigma version running at 30fps on the Vita with minimal cutbacks is impressive, but 30fps for a fast paced action game is a hard no-go.

Switch Lite is made for children. Being more light weighted so they can handle it..

Call me when there's an docked only Switch with higher specs.
I don't give a fuck about this portable cuck shit.

>charging port still on the bottom
For fuck's sake Nintendo, you had one fucking job. It's incredibly awkward trying to play with my switch plugged in while laying in bed.

I've played all 3 on the vita and if there is delay in the first then it's not really noticeable to a point I'd classify it as horrific.

That's also 1/3 of those ports.

ffx and x-2 were also dandy.

I made the original argument, that's not me. I'm talking more about ports from PS3/4. Of course ports from PS2 look about the same, even though they run worse in almost every instance.

you need to stop if you think 30fps with dips ratchet is at all acceptable

What about past games that have been released like Guilty Gear A Core RX or Monster Hunter G XX?

Will they take a hit from being handheld only?

I agree but it's great to be able to play in bed, the bathroom, or any room really.

If you are this extraordinarily anal about ports then almost none of the switch ports are playable to you either.

Yea Forums is reddit jr.
the last time I visited this board after years hiatus I was in a 'best of Yea Forums' thread full of redditors unironically bragging about how their site is better

Maybe if it performed better, but it doesn't so I don't particularly care.

Nintendo already won Christmas though.

>Switch Lite is made for children. Being more light weighted so they can handle it..

same argument applies for basedboys with no muscle mass because their wife-enforced vasectomy robbed them of testosterone production.

>over 20
>buying a switch
top kek

>I'm talking more about ports from PS3/4
Like the Atelier games? As far as the PS4 is concerned, nothing was ported from it, only to it.

3ds kids invaded every thread we ever tried to have about soul sacrifice.

Every one.

Not really. I'm only interested in the games and not the portability, so this does nothing for me. I would much rather have had an upgrade which could run all its games at 60FPS or if that were impossible at least at 1080p 30FPS instead of

I'd buy one if it weren't for the fact that your account is locked to only one Switch at a time.

>over 10
>playing with video games
Lmao

>defending Nintendo even when you don't own their console
It will be a pain in the ass to fix the drifting.

well, yeah. the introduction of the catalogue and being able to sort by reply count basically turned posts into upvotes. no one checks half way down the page, and most people go to the threads with the most posts, so a post is an upvote.

before reddit got rid of it, they even had a better gore section than Yea Forums, which is depressing, when you consider people used to flood reddit suspected posts with gore. that shit was labelled and dated and links to sources provided for all

The d pad is cool. I really never play in portable mode so I'm a little let down and probably wont be picking one up though.

so why is this as same price as 3ds

>Why do people keep posting that autists chart
Any time you see a chart like that it's always the same guy posting them.

Makes no sense I can buy a used switch cheaper why should I buy this lite garbo also everyone who ever wanted a switch has two already

>It will be a pain in the ass to fix the drifting.

turn left to go right.

>being able to sort by reply count
Didn't know that was a thing.

Yes, but playing splatoon handheld with gyro is a fucking nightmare

That isn't true

Me neither and i've been here for over a decade

if it can run emulator's well i'd pick it up since my vita has the wrong firmware, but think that's gonna take a while JC.

jesus christ user. it says it right there in the drop down

But I already have a joy con with a dpad

How are you going to deal with Mario Odyssey's waggle shit?

wrong

You can't seriously tell me that Ninja Gaiden at 30fps is a good experience. And that's the first game, 2 is really more like 24fps.
Maaaaaaaaaybe passable if you really need your action game fix on the go, but Bayo 1+2 on Switch have long since taken that crown.

Happy for others, but this serves no purpose for me. No TV move, not small enough to be pocket size and can't remove controllers to make it pocket size like I can currently do with the Switch, no kickstand means multiplayer is non-existent and buying joycons for IR/motion stuff is a joke since you'd have to sit the damn thing flat on a table or your lap, and it's only $100 cheaper.

I hope they can add TV mode via modding. I was hoping to mod my release switch and buy whatever pro refresh, but now that seems uncertain.

You can buy d-pads to put on the joy con now.

seems alright. I don't really like downgrading in size. The normal switch was already small enough to take with me.

It will also be impossible (at least for a long time) to mod it since you obviously can't use the jig trick.

Attached: 1503089220575.gif (500x375, 371K)

I want joycons with a D-Pad like the Switch Lite.

Nintendo is reserving dpads for the pro controller. If you want a real dpad on your joycon the only option is chink case mods.

>Vitafags seething right now
bruh, look at these dudes
youtube.com/watch?v=Y7-ZQ2X2OH0

I actually detach my joycons and play with other people in table top. Mario kart or street fighter at work is the best.

No one's seething, and yes the Switch version looks and runs better. It's a more powerful system.

just don't drop it or you're fucked, a friend of mine dropped his switch with these metal things and just fucked his entire rail up.

Hori sells a cheap d-pad Joy-con but you can't use it wirelessly, it only works attached to the Switch.

Just like any other handheld?

Or you could just buy a joycon with a d-pad. Hori makes pic related. $15 and works like a dream

Attached: Joy-Cons.png (1280x720, 186K)

I dont want one without the other.

>It's useless without it
>you literally use it without it
>But I want both!
ok

It's a cheapy so parents can buy it for kids and boomers can buy it for grandkids when pokemon comes out.

Source?

>>A majority of games will run on it. Only shit like 1-2 switch and mario party won't work but they suck so who cares
Pretty sure it has bluetooth for procontrollers? So YES you can use other joysons and play those games -_-

>This is just "oh let's make it cheaper because it will sell so so well, thanks Pokémon!"
That's literally what the 2DS was

You can play those other games, they straight up said it in the video to require regular joycons. OP is just a retard

And Japan can buy it to play while spending 75% of their lives in trains.

261$ instead of 200$ in Russia

Greedy cocksuckers!

Attached: Screenshot (25069).png (739x665, 301K)

Would never buy it; doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.

That being said, it's good that this product exists. Very useful for parents with more than one child (or poor parents that still want to give some videogames to their children), and for people that just want a cheap Pokemon machine.

>using boomers unironically
Yea Forums needs more people like you

So, let me get this straight. There are no improvements with the switch lite other then the price and the d pad? No improved screen resolution? No improved battery life? Nintendo Basically slashed out all the cool features that set the switch apart and dropped the price by $100?

>-_-

Attached: 1557167631098.png (184x184, 80K)

The Senran Kagura guy did a presentation showing him holding a joycon in one hand and a baloon in another and they thought it meant you could squeeze boobies.

How will saves migrate between switches? Right now saves are locked inside a switch

How is the storage going to work?

there is better battery life

32GB internal flash, expandable with microSD

Better than Americans who spend 80% of their lives behind the wheel in standstill traffic.

flap on the bottom

The battery life is improved by 30%.

I think it's fucking retarded but it doesn't change anything about my Switch purchase so I don't really care.

yep i want both so its useless without having them both you fucking retard

Source

lmao go easy on the wagie he might slit his wrists

Pony up the $20 goy. If you can afford multiple Switches you can definitely afford cloud saves!
>inb4 muh sd card

They have to make up for the fact that everyone in Russia pirates their games.

I hope it means that the pro is real also

otherwise I don't give a shit one way or the other

I'm surprised Nintendo has never gone all in the Joy-con gimmick and included unique peripherals to attach to the sides.

I think the Switch Lite SUCKS.

Attached: coolsville.jpg (1280x720, 197K)

>yep i want both
>so its useless without having them both
you fucking retard

Does the online mode do cloud saves? Didn't know that

It's pretty much exactly what I was expecting a switch lite to be.

I play my switch handheld 95% of the time, and if I were to buy a new one for some reason I think I'd still buy the original version. Even if I don't use it that much, I still like the option to dock it. If the NSL could still be docked, I'd have gotten one.

have sex

suck my cock first

Now I just wanna buy a Vita amd homebrew it

Attached: u018.png (869x1266, 978K)

What Retard made this

Attached: 1476971400951.jpg (238x192, 9K)

the paid service has cloud saves but not for all games. Animal Crossing and I think Splatoon 2 don't allow cloud saves

Do you think we'll even get a switch pro at this point?

Well whip it out then big boy

Online is the only official way to migrate saves. Wii/WiiU/3DS/Xbone/PS4 all allowed local backups to removable storage but Ninty decided to go full kike with the Switch.

Same, though I met get this for my younger sister for Christmas or something.
Can you play games like Smash Ultimate and Mario Kart via ad-hoc on more than one system? That'd be dope.

who cares? what are you gonna do when the sticks start drifting? at least with the original switch you can buy new joycons. It's cool that we get a cheaper option but I already have a switch and it's arguably better. What we need is a switch pro that improves performance. The only issue would be getting devs to go back and fix games that ran like shit on the normal switch. also can we actually get some quality controllers? the current ones dont last. my fucking original 3ds still holds up and my joycons started drifting within months

Attached: fat_fuckert.gif (350x262, 339K)

These are my feelings exactly. It also appeals to the people that want a supplemental console but didn't want to spend $300

Warframe is surprisingly decent. Especially in handheld mode. But, it has its own ecosystem, so you won't be able to move your PC character to it or vice versa, and you'll only be able to play with other switch users.

this will be fucking awesome once you're able to install cfw and emulators, basically a worthy spiritual successor to the PSP

>illiterate moron doesn't understand how the diple is used on Yea Forums and desperately tries save face by projecting his own inability to use English by turning it around on user

I like the idea, but I've never really bought into the whole portability gimmick being worth a shit. I'd rather pony up the extra 100 dollars to be able to play on my TV.

instead of finally going with the times and releasing a Pro version which might not be limited to PS2 graphics they downgrade it further. I know why I have lost faith in Nintendo ages ago.

You're fucking retarded. Radiated heat has nothing to do with processing power.
A more efficient chip and manufacturing can reduce heat-output without damaging performance.

You don't know what the fuck you're talking about in the least.

i know how its used. however, its an informal use. which is my point. your absolutely allowed to bend the normal rules of grammar and spelling depending on the setting. in this case, i didnt care about the proper you, and it didnt matter because its Yea Forums: its not formal. the only reason it matters at all, is because its a deflection being used to hide your own seething. all over someone saying reddit is better.

Mario Kart can absolutely be played ad-hoc but I'm really not sure about smash. I actually think smash is completely local on one system, or via the internet in multiple only.

Someone feel free to correct me though, I'm genuinely curious now.

UNIRONICALLLY an upgrade, I am NEVER comfortable taking my switch to work because its so fucking huge and the detachable parts absolutely kill it

I fucking hope the lite is more ergonomic, no clam form is a big fucking yikes though, a case is a pain

How do you do the special moves in Odyssey now?

Attached: clvrgrl.jpg (548x451, 11K)

I'd be happy if they release a Joycon revision with that new d-pad.

That's about it though. Nicer for people with launch or near-launch Switches that are interested in jailbreaking those systems, though I think waiting for whatever the purported pro version is.

>I am NEVER comfortable taking my switch to work
jesus christ what a fucking loser

no, literally what's the point and who is this for?

you don't lmao

>here is your 3ds successor bro

Yes it is.

My gf...

he's not saying he's embarrassed dumbass, only that it's uncomfortable to carry around at all times

what is the internal storage? not fucking 8 gigs I hope

people who want a properly portable console?

It's no longer a gimmick if it's the only mode.

They all can be done with button inputs.

I hope none of you are going to buy it.

Attached: 1562763494907.jpg (750x703, 95K)

approximately 0.2 NBA 2ks.

32, like the regular switch.

Why would it be smaller?

i’ll be interested if it gets hacked and i can play old ROMs on it, at least SNES era stuff
looks like a comfy handheld

I'd rather have a PS2 2 than a PS4, tbqh.
Modern games are trash.
