RDR 1

Even the most well written Rockstar game is a C-Grade film and a D-Grave vidya for failing to take advantage of the medium in meaningful ways.

RDR2 no contest

not a chance, characters in that game are tropey and annoying, they overstay their welcome after 5 minutes of meeting them

Well just in terms of writing... RDR 2 definitely hit the highest highs but RDR 1 was more consistent so probably RDR 1.

It's close. I also think Arthur is by far the most interesting rockstar protag to date, or at least the most fleshed out.

san andreas is the best game
the best movie is rdr2, i really felt like i was in a movie playing it because i would not touch the controller 20 minutes every 5 minutes

Rockstar Table Tennis
serious answer is Bully

RDR 2 and it's not really close.
favorite is probably Manhunt because I like having Brian Cox whisper encouragement and nasty shit in my ear for a whole game.

L.A. Noire

it's bully, the rest of rockstars storyies is always parody/spiritual succesor to better media, usually film

my nigger

Bully is filled with weird inconsistencies and things that happen for no real reason. Gary being a nobody who's automatically able to manipulate all the clique leaders behind the scenes is just retarded. It's a funny game though.

rockstar is the tarantino of video games so none of them are really well written, its all shit

Bully, by a mile.

RDR2 unless you're a smelly fag

>Well written
>Rockstar
??
These are the guys who think calling facebook Life Invader is smart

Lemmings

>Can't have satire and irony in your game

Why are you so bitter? Facebook employee?

>That spacing
Yeah no wonder you love rockstar

Not an argument nerd

Gta 2

Back you go

I love RDR1, perhaps my favorite game ever, but anyone that says it had the best story of all Rockstar games is just wrong, I think people just say it had a good story because of the ending.
RDR1 story is basically just "I'll go help that guy by shooting people so he can help catch that other guy by shooting people" and repeat that 3x.
And then John dies and you avenge him, which is kino, don't get me wrong, but is perhaps the first time in the game where you get emotionally invested and not just a mass killing machine.
For me, RDR2 is a little better in the sense that it fleshes out it's characters more, makes you care for the gang, gives you insight into Arthur's thoughts since the beggining (through his journal, but still), and the entire Chapter 6 it's one of the most depressing experices I had in a videogame, because of how invested I was in the characters.
But at the end of the day you can choose to view both games as just one story, since of how much one depends from the other.
Also, fuck Mexico missions and fuck Chapter 5 .

Vice City

for me, it's gta iv

i feel like the narrative and gameplay are at ends in their video games.

muh deep conflicted protag in cutscene is jarring compared to shooty shoot gib me money i have no principles gameplay.

It's too obvious to be called social critique.

All Rockstar games stories are just copies of Hollywood movies
