I was holding out on buying a Switch because I had a feeling they would make something like this. I did not expect it to be the complete opposite of what I wanted. Guess I'm not getting a switch.

The entire gimmick is around the portability. The people that are thrilled about this are casual players who just want comfy handheld gaming. You're one of the few (and the only person I've seen) who is asking for a non-handheld Switch. It's not going to happen because there would be no demand for it.

I just want the Switch lite and a Switch TV that is just a box built to last, unlike those tablets that are slowly melting inside.

Switch Lite looks like a perfect handheld, OG Switch is one of the worst handhelds ever made, it works as a home console but it’s durability is obviously lacking.

For someone like me who mainly games on PC and just wants a switch for the occasional niche nintendo game or as a portable this is perfect

I play video games either sitting on my couch or sitting in front of the computer. I see no need in playing video games outside.

I definitely think we will see a pro version of the switch in time. But the line of thinking that they will release a non-handheld version of the console is just obtuse.

Great, you don't have to play it outside. You can play it wherever you want in your house or apartment. Or you can just leave it docked at the TV at all times.

The Switch Heavy would obviously be a beefed up version of the original Switch. Think PS4 Pro or Xbox One S. I don't need the docked/undocked meme just want a proper console where I can play the few good Nintendo exclusive games with better load times, a boost mode for increases fps, instant start up time, SSD and just more general improvements. Also a proper controller included.

Literally the only things that can fail from use in handhelds are the controls and the battery, neither of which matter with a switch since the controllers are detachable and exchangeable and th battery is irrelevant if you only want it docked anyway.
