So the Pro version will simply be a home console, right?

There wont be a pro version
It will just be the switch 2
I fucking hope so, they better make a home console edition too because nobody will even bother taking the Switch Lite outside and they'll all complain about it becoming a paper weight while begging for some kind of TV mode
Pro is not happening
It would be really fucking dumb of them to release a version with exclusives games that you wont be able to play on the lite when the lite is going to sell quadrillions in Japan and its going to be the standard from now on.
Its over, buy a switch now or wait for the switch 2
>Nintendo fucks up both revisions so badly that the shitty default switch is still the desirable one
I'd believe it.
>exclusive
Why would they add exclusives to it?It definitely didn't work for the N3DS.
Better resolution and performance it's what it should offer at a higher price.
Lite for just handheld.
Normal Switch for both at a lower performance
So then whats the point of having a pro at all?
>Better resolution and performance
Nah thats not happening they would not fracture their fanbase like that they would not make the original switch looks worse like that
Enjoy waiting for the switch 2
>Pokemon, Fire Emblem and other 3DS titles
>home console only
(lol
Nintendumbs claimed that Nintendo won't make a cheapo and portable Switch, yet Nintendo did it
They'll call it the "new Nintendo Switch"
New games won't be compatible with the old switch so you'll be forced to upgrade if you want new games, and it won't come with a charging cable
>fracture their fanbase
Like they're doing with Switch Lite?
hint:they're not
Same games across the same ecosystem.
Do you only care about portability?Get Lite.
Do you a home console, get the Pro.
Do you want both of them as originally intended?Get the Switch
All that changes is resolution and performance for the Pro.That would be the best option imo
>Like they're doing with Switch Lite?
No because lite plays everything regular model plays and its aimed at kids
There is not going to be a pro
Screencap this
No. It would be completely retarded. It could be an improved dock with additional power.
no you'll get dock that play 3ds games
>you cannot adjust brightness
>you cannot adjust brightness
>you cannot adjust brightness
>you cannot adjust brightness
>you cannot adjust brightness
>you cannot adjust brightness
>you cannot adjust brightness
You would have to justify the additional cost of manufacturing. It's arguable that the majority of Switch buyers don't care THAT much about improved performance.
What do you think?
Is he legit of just fluke?

They literally did that with the New 3DS, original 3DS and (New+old) 2DS. A higher, mid, and low power model. Why not the same for Switch?
1080p screen, smoother fps, runs identically in handheld and docked mode. Uses pro controllers docked to each side instead of joycons.
of course it's happening
the original wall street journal article mentioned both a handheld and a "pro" version, and it specifically stated the form factor was surprising
home console switch is pretty much guaranteed
Don’t forget it has a 3D screen and natively supported go into game machine.
If they knew lite was undockable how the fuck would the pro not being a handheld be surprising?
>form factor
that's because it's a new Switch dock with gpu inside.
You know they did this so they can claim it has "better battery life" even though it's just because the brightness is locked to a lower setting.
USB-C is too slow for that.
They're just waiting for a Tegra revision.
>lite plays everything regular model plays
Have you guys not been paying attention? Lite doesn't play all Switch games
>exclusive
it wouldn't though, it would just be better suited for fully-clocking the GPU.
That's like saying there's an 'exclusive' game for GTX 1080 as opposed to 980
The N3DS is literally a regular 3DS that has a CPU running at a higher clock speed. It's the same hardware. If you want a more powerful switch, it will likely need new hardware implemented.
It's the equivalent of the 3DS not supporting all DS games, like fucking Guitar Hero DS. The 3DS and Switch Lite can only NOT play like a couple games, ever. I think this revision looks like shit otherwise, but this part is a non-issue
I doubt it.
Given that any game that's on the Switch inherently has to use ARM architecture so that all the optimization work on past titles doesn't go out the fucking window, that means it will still be using chips and chip sets designed for mobile devices.
Which means that it will still have hand-held capability, it'll just be more powerful in handheld mode too.
Can't.
The issue is how the console would manage to maintain the game when you take it out of the dock. Unless Nvidia figured out some witchcraft wherein they build a Tegra that can SLI into some other GPU such that they're both playing the game but the external GPU provides an auxiliary boost, then I doubt it'll have an extra GPU
It is a minimal issue, not a non-issue. Also, this was directed at people who think a pro would not happen since it would potentially create a rift in which games are available on each, yet the mini already creates this problem with the standard swich
