I've only played the first 15 minutes of Chrono Cross. I just make bait threads like this to force actual discussion of games (I like trigger as well). Most people don't really reply to threads that don't piss them off so this is what I do.

Chrono *Igger is exceedingly overrated. The plot consistency is nice but the rest is very stereotypical. Cross combat mechanics and OST are better and character cast is amazing

Well let me explain further. Crono, Marle, Lucca, Frog, Robo, Ayla, and Magus all have detailed backstories. Every bit of that 20 hours is advancing the plot while also being a substory for each of the characters.
Chrono Cross will throw a random baby dragon into your party with absolutely no story, and does absolutely nothing unique because it only specializes in one of a handful of elements in the game.

Factually incorrect, the entire game is developing the characters. Usually one at a time, but still developing. Each one goes through at least two development phases.
The exception is Crono who is basically a self-insert. That's one thing Cross gets right, Serge is an actual character. But you basically have Serge, Kid, and Lynx being developed and that's it.

Chrono Cross is objectively superior to Chrono Trigger in every category.

Especially music, CT has a good OST but CC’s is the greatest in all of vidya.

No fucking way. CT automatically gets points for not having PS1-era jank like load times and ugly 3D models. Not to mention it doesn't waste your time on some 20-ish hour tropical island adventure only to shift the tone entire and dump the plot on you in the second disc.
