According to what chapter? I've only read that the memories Eren inherited have affected him since the timeskip. The part about the attack titan "influencing" him in itself hasn't been mentioned anywhere in the manga.

He gets better, the show kinda drags, you havent gone very far at all into the story

the strings are there just for show, its basically jetpacks, point where you want to go and the game will take you there, auto swinging and all
when locked onto a target your dude will automatically circle around giving you time to choose the target, when you attack you auto zip towards it giving you a QTE and thats basically it

They don't outright say that the attack titan influences it's user, but Kruger does say that the attack titan has always seeked freedom, no matter the day and age. It can't be a coincidence that every single attack titan user just so happens to be so focused on freedom, the titan influencing the user is most likely what is happening.
And look at how Eren is obsessed with freedom after the timeskip as well.

But Eren and Grisha have always been curious of the outside world freedom. Way before they got the AT. It's more like they gained it BECAUSE of that curiosity and ambition.
