Also arguably Metro 2033, the monsters were friendly and you were massacring them for absolutely no reason
This but literally unironically
Makin a lot of assumptions there bud
>monster reveals that video game is the real protagonist
Educated guess, pal.
>protagonist does what he needs to do and believes in his own self and tells everyone else to fuck off
>protagonist's mental health slowly gets worse and worse over the course of the game
Killzone franchise

Serious Sam 3
I know you're probably talking about Spec Ops: The Line, but at that point it's pretty clear that you as the player is very much disconnected to Walker and his actions. The game is blaming Walker, and you're only there for the ride.
>game starts with mc and his party in the final dungeon
>flashback to the beginning of the story
>the final dungeon that you see at the beginning is actually the first loop where the MC failed to beat the final boss and dies.
>the one that you play (the flashback) is actually the second loop where the MC did something different so he can beat the final boss.
Braid
>life railroads you into making fucked up choices
>as in you literally can not progress the country until you do this fucked up thing

I’m almost certain the story in Destiny is trying to tell us that we’re just the zombified death squad of a dormant god and somehow we’re the bad guys for not asking questions
>Protagonist is the antagonist of his own mind
