What's with all this auto chess games hype? It's starting to feel like the next card game hype type of deal. There is even talks of Yugioh and Pokemon making their own.

Are these games fun? I've seen people stream it but I have no idea what's going on. Half the time it looks like they are just afk and the game is playing itself. There also seem to be auto-queues so it must be popular.

>the game is playing itself.
That's exactly what's happening.

I tried them they all suck its just hype and shit taste. This fad will pass.

Autochess is popular with Chinks because the Chinks HATE playing video games, but they love cheating and gambling. You can't cheat in Autochess so they swarm to it, and it's basically just an RNG machine.

>Pokemon auto chess

I'd play it. Would make sense also Lvl 1 Charmander into Lvl 3 Charizard. They'll fuck it up somehow though.

once the round starts it plays itself but the gameplay lies in picking champions/heroes and positioning them.

It's just a minigame, very relaxed and partially AFK. It started as a DOTA 2 custom game, and the league version is just a bonus game mode on the main client. I can't tell you why it's so big on twitch but outside of that it just sort of is what it is. The standalone versions are pretty weird though. It'd be like a CSS/Gmod custom game getting its own release.

WHY NOT TRY IT AND NOT GIVE YOUR WORTHLESS BASELESS OPINION YOU STUPID FUCKING DOLT

i had a feeling this was the case. it's probably the perfect streaming game since you don't do anything and can interact with your chat.

A Trouble In Terrorist Town standalone would be neat.

They're the most boring shit in existence but that suits the hyper casual normies that have infested online gaming. It's the same reason auto clickers are popular.

its actually already starting to deflate in popularity.
i wouldnt worry too much about it my guess is people will try it out for a bit and then drop it. it doesnt seem to have the staying power. atleast thats what i am perceiving right now.

Of course it doesn't. They're shit games with zero depth. There's nothing impressive to watch.

Pachinko has more depths

That's what the original was when it was a warcraft 3 mod
It's pretty much just a card game where you do drafts throughout the game and against 7 other people

Why is it so boring though, even after 1 game I don't feel like playing for days.

Because it's mostly RNG.

The only standalone that seems necessary to me is surfing/bhop and Momentum Mod is nailing that. The closed alpha is fantastic.

>Autochess is popular with Chinks because the Chinks HATE playing video games, but they love cheating and gambling
> You can't cheat in Autochess so they swarm to it
what did he mean by this?

I didn't properly express my thoughts. Chinks love cheating and gambling but hate being cheated, so all that leaves is gambling. Autochess is good to them because they can't be cheated but also it's just RNG gambling nonsense that they crave as a race.

I remember some user shilling in-dev standalone surf_ game here a while back (like a year or two ago).
I wonder what happened.

They usually implode and are run by idiots without technical skills. Momentum is the first that goes far beyond that thanks to based gocnak

You know how in playing a card game you have to memorize all the interplay between mechanics against your opponent's mechanics and then have them play out basically instantly as each of you is dishing the cards out.

This is the same except the "cards" are alive and play with each other on their own.

>I can't tell you why it's so big on twitch
It's big because all the former hearthstone streamers and some league of legends streamers have jumped into the autochess train because their main game sucks ass or because they treat TFT/autochess as a relaxing game to end their stream with. And these people get viewers no matter what they're playing.

it's a lot of RNG, but the 'skill' comes with making the best of what hand you are dealt, character positioning and adapting on the fly

fps platforming mods like surf and bhop are dependent on a map maker though, a standalone would be relatively worthless unless it had additional features like changing the gravity or acceleration mechanics

I'ts just the flavour of the month minigame like custom hero arena or survival chaos wc3 maps.
People love it, spamm it, next month it will die. It's shit easy to produce and excellent as fast cashgrab
