Solo and multiplayer are two very different experiences. I would say solo is only really fun if you're barely winning by the skin of your teeth and you're thinking of phase based strategies. That said, I prefer solo. What's great about the game is that it can be both as a difficult tight arcade shooter or as some casual combined forces sandbox larp. Try to experiment more to find the best way you can have fun with the game.

It's very basic in it's core, as pure as games get. Basically hardly changed the concept since first game on PS2. But that's why we love it.

also on the steam page for a few hours when it was first listed the release date said "July 11". They changed it to "July 2019" shortly after but since the tweet said that it's coming out this week it's probably still july 11th.
steamdb just defaulted to the last day of july when they changed it.

260+ hours in both.
Yeah, I'd say so. 4.1 still has some better stages at times, but that's about it.

Also each time other classes get some of that armor and weapons, so you never need to start from blank.
Also you now have range of gathering weapons during dash or in vehicle (or using probe for ranger).
