thinking of buying one of these terrible controllers. anyone here have one? is it any good? I want a quality dpad, analog sticks, face buttons, and nice triggers though I'm not as concerned about the triggers as the other aspects.

They're okay. Latency is similar to a PS4 controller, buttons feel fine, Dpad was a little stuff and had strange issues on older revisions, sticks are fine.
I have one. The D-pad is okay. Sometimes I get up/down presses when I don't mean to, so it's still far from perfect.
Fuck off Bob Wolfe
>I want a quality dpad,
8bitdo are known for their absolute garbage dpads. Do not buy it. I regret getting one back I January.
Its ok. I use it for emulators. Maybe wait for the one with grips.
The dpad is clacky garbage. The triggers are buttons.
if the dpad is shit that's basically a deal breaker. if you had to judge, is it about the same or worse than the DS4 dpad?
I have one and I love it. just get one, you aint poor right?
worse and i don't like the ps4 dpad in the first place. the best dpads to me are the older mushy nintendo ones. going from my gba to this is jarring.
>The triggers are buttons.
Why is that a bad thing?
Just get a wired 360 gamepad. It works for pretty much everything.
I've been looking for clicky stuff so I ordered this one, the wired version.
I actually wanted one of these for fighting games since they are small and not as big as x360, but if the d pads are bad then nope
I don't like the 360 dpad
the n30 pro 2 has great dpad, but the whole thing is just tiny and crap sticks
Switch Pro Controller is actually a very good PC gamepad.
>i want nice triggers
>they're not even triggers
gee i wonder how that could be a bad thing to OP
Oh I have one of those, the N30 Pro2 NES one.
It's pretty good, when I go to my buddy's to play smash it's my preferred controller. plus playing rpg's on my laptop when I'm out is pretty nice.
the rubber starters to wear off the analog sticks over time. I didn't even use mine much and it happened.
I've heard mixed things on that one. Some say it's the best controller they've other used, others say it sucks.
That wasn't me, however I don't mind digital triggers for many of the games I play. Actually I prefer the shorter travel for something like a fighting game. I doubt I'd use a controller like this for racing games or shooters in the first place.
OP.....don't if you want it for your switch. Confirmed major input lag as soon as a second player joins you and uses an official Nintendo controller (joy cons especially). No software update fixed that shit.
Bluetooth on mine is fuckin trash but it's good for playing something like an N64 emulator on my phone and it's small enough to fit in my glove box. The joystick is kinda wonky. Just know the controller is really small. Overall it's decent.
If you just want a good d-pad and don't need analog sticks, M30 is far superior choice.
I have the super famicom version of pic related. I like it fine, I'm not super picky though. I just use it to play emulators so it works for me.
always hated the sega layout, thats why they had inferior platformers
Why is it so hard for companies to make an all-around great controller? Just give me a good d-pad, snappy and responsive buttons, sticks with minimal dead zones, and decent triggers coupled with good shoulders.
Im not really a consolefag, explain the difference between trigger and button and why you would prefer one over the other
When I hold my x360 I don't have my fingers on the triggers, just the buttons, because the controller is just so big
Can I get one with a 4 bytton layout to the right
Get a Sega controller then.
>When I hold my x360 I don't have my fingers on the triggers, just the buttons, because the controller is just so big
I caoildnt return this thing quick enough, the ergo were fucking garbage.
Which Sega controller fulfills all of those requirements? It sure as hell isn't the Dreamcast's.
I love mine. Top notch dpad, all the features you need, long battery, lots of features.
bought them for mario maker 2. Ended up really liking it. Though to be honest I mostly use the analog instead of the d-pad
well user an analog trigger like the one on your 360 controller is pressure sensitive and allows the player to control how far they want to pull the trigger down. for something like a racing game this allows you to control your acceleration with your finger or in a shooter the spring gives a nice pushback making shooting feel better and faster.
with a digital trigger it's basically the same as a face button. you don't have the same kind of pressure sensitive precision but with the low travel distance it makes the triggers better for quick actions like using a dash or as an attack button.
saturn
Oh ok, too bad I suck at racing games
Isn't there a tape fix for it?
I got one and I love mine. not sure where the bad dpad meme comes from. Mine isn't the newer shit that doesn't look like an SNES, though. Maybe it was a later revision without a redesign?
either way, I fucking love this little guy.
Since this thread is up, i was considering this one for it's turbo features
I bought one of the NES ones, and the NES wireless adapter. The thing didn't even fucking work, don't bother with them
speaking from a purely visual standpoint it looks pretty cheap
just bought one, and it's okay. I'm gonna keep it. The dpad is passable, but just barely, wish it had a vita dpad
A Saturn controller with two analog sticks?
