This thread is dedicated to all the franchises we lost in the jump from the Seventh Gen to Eighth Gen...
The ones that hurt the most are Dead Space, Jak and Daxter and Sly cooper.
I still play the original dead space every now and then on 1440p with mods.
ME: Andromeda was good though
My fucking sides
It wasn't, though. The story was all over the place. The RPG aspect was just, gone. The combat was GOOD. Graphics were 'meh' while still being unoptimized to high hell.
I really, really, really wanted to see what Dead Space 3 was originally going to be like.
>We lost all these great Sony games for Sad dad simulator and Sad dad with an axe simulator.
I could imagine them doing another Infamous some day. SS had more sequel potential than the good ending of 2 had.
They were good games.
And in the case of TLoU, they initially started out planning to make a Jak and Daxter sequel. They just realized their hearts weren't really into it and scrapped it for something entirely new.
With all the complaints people make about unnecessary bad sequels, you'd think people would appreciate when devs choose not to force a sequel for brand recognition, for an entirely new IP no less.
It's not that good compared to 2 or even 1. But still, fuck you EA you cum guzzling niggers for killing Visceral Games
Its funny you say that when they're making a Last of Us 2, a game that did absolutely not need a sequel.
I would if what was given instead was on the same level as the previous IP. I still do not know how to this day Last of Us got so popular, even the story aspect is underwhelming the majority of the time.
BBBBBB-B-B-BUT MUH LESBIAN PROTAGONIST.
I honestly enjoyed the gameplay. And it gets unfairly shit on for being a "movie game" even though there's plenty of gameplay.
I can't deny that though.
The times where you have the stealth gameplay is fair enough, zombie apocalypse shit usually is a safe way to do it. However I hated the human only sections, just turned into a generic cover shooter. Not to mention how many puzzles are "bring ladder here" or "Bring thing for ellie to float on here"
It sounds like they had a neat idea, but it got scraped to high hell and beyond.
>Naughty dog is too busy shitting out """cinematic masterpieces""" to simply remaster and port all the Jak and Daxter games to PS4
But it was the best Mass Effect, far above & beyond 2
Deus Ex.
Only good thing about it was Vetra.
ME1 is still the best and needs a remaster.
They already ported them once.
I remember this game looking a whole lot better when it came out.
Ninja Gaiden
Didn't they port the Trilogy to PS4 ?
We lost a hell of a lot more franchises moving from sixth gen to seventh.
>Ratchet And Clank
You know they still make R&C games, right?
InFamous were ok. Not great, not horrible. Best one is the PS4 one
what kind of mods?
Does Halo count? The only good Halo games have been the remakes.
Hold up let me think of some.
>Metroid
>F-Zero
>Star Fox
>Timesplitters
>Devil May Cry (Dante got better)
That's a whole lot of forgettable mediocrity.
Halo definitely had the biggest fall from grace but I'm cautiously hyped for Infinite. Had that game not been announced I'd definitely put it on the list.
More like gaylo
There are better ways to beg for(You)s user
>wanting NuBioware to remaster Mass Effect 1
They'll just remove the "problematic" parts and shove some more identity politics in it. Ashley to become a white nationalist and Kaiden will be trans, Ashley will always die in Virmire.
Don't forget
>Killzone
>De Blob
>Mercenaries
>Red Steel
>Command & Conquer
>Twisted Metal
>Medal of Honor
>Brothers in Arms
>Prince of Persia
>Lost Planet
>Make a sub series that has two games both of which received great critical and commercial success
>Just fucking stop making more
The hell happened? Did EA lose a bet?
Sly 4 did happen though.
>Red Steel
This fucking hurts. The second game is one of the few games that made really, really good use out of the wii's motion controls. The first one was mediocre but the idea was there.
There were a lot of decent to good one off wii games that will never be revisited again because that console dead and the motion control fad is over. It's a real shame.
I enjoyed the gameplay as well, but I definitely felt the game was also overly pretentious with trying to be the whole "cinematic experience" shit and constantly shoving cutscenes or pseudo-cutscenes (those constant bullshit segments where you're forced to slow-walk down an empty room so characters can talk to each other) into the game and interrupting the flow.
And you just know in TLOU2 they're going to crank the "cinematic experience" shit to 11 and have the actual gameplay be an afterthought on the backburner.
What? It's true, Andromeda's story is better than the OT, the combat is much better and the DLC was great
>tfw don't give a fuck about any of these
Feels good not being a retarded zoomer (and xbox kid on top of it)
Don't forget they straight up asked why people loved BC2 so much.
