It would need to have no casual mode, make the story mode paced differently. During the main story the war with a Pelagia is the main focal point. No separate arcs, just Pelagia war. As the war rages on Chrom becomes to aggressive and becomes more and more like his father. The civilians that he orders his army to slaughter lose hope and willingly join Grima’s cult as the story slowly builds up straight to Grima. Robin slaps some sense into Chrom, and they go into a long arc to power up Falcion. When they return to the front line of the war with Pelagia the revival is almost complete and we have the battle of the minds with Robin and Grima. Just would be better that we didn’t have 2.5 different arcs you know?

Shipping people has also existed in this franchise for a long ass time, and the shipping wars back then were a lot more cutthroat than now.
