It was okay, I enjoyed the new minigames and the characters were solid. But the boss fights were lackluster as hell and combat felt 10x easily cheesable.
8.5/10 for sure, the ending was fucking amazing though
I like that enemies are more aggressive, and the wound system, but they still make the protag stupidly OP, which ruins the fun. Still much better than 6 or K1/K2 though.
Its great. I'd love a sequel of some sort.
PC when
It really needed more minigames and areas. Other than that it was above average for a Yakuza game, especially the main story. I was actually feeling for and relating to the main characters, and that cutscene towards the end where he sees all of his allies on the street hit me really hard for some reason.
pretty much this.
nothing outside of the final fight stood out (final fight was real cool though) and the detective elements like the taling sequences brought the game down a bit.
i bet shin has more effort going in it, so even if the story is worse, i think it'll be better as a game.
Yagami>Kiryu
Best girl
I was tearing up at that scene too, also when yagami was in the courtroom I couldn't stop grinning
The scene with Okubo got me senpai.
cute dorky autist
Is he dare I say it, our guy?
sick shades brah
best substories (cases) since 0
Agreed.
Are the Yakuza games as good as this? I really enjoyed judgement.
This was fucking kino.
Yakuza 0 is.
yeah
It did some narratively interesting things with those two first-person moments, I don't remember Yakuza doing something like that
ludo right here
>they killed him off screen
fucking fuckers.
i was hoping we'd see him in a judgment 2 or shin
can't believe he got hard off a man
The most annoying thing regarding this game is the main story quest was literally full of side quests that had no relation to the main story
Is there any actual reward to beat Keihin bosses instead of pyroxine that can only be used alongside rainbow one? I really hate this.
the sense of accomplishment
There is no sense of accomplishment for bullying them though. It's just really annoying that every corner has enemies walking until I beat them.
then a sense of justice
Are Yakuza 3,4, and 5 worth getting ps now for? Or is 0 and the Kiwami games sufficient?
just wait for the ports to get localized
The chat with Okubo is what hit me hard. He had such a hard life with no one believing in him and losing hope that he would get to live at all that he was going to die for crimes he didn't commit, he lost his girlfriend to a vast conspiracy, and all his info was doxed meaning even if he did get out on another acquittal chances are he'd be murdered on the streets.
Most of them aren't going to be this serious, but yeah, this is the general vibe and gameplay you get from them.
Never knew DF made a video about this.
They're big fans of the series, one of the guys even did a test on the Y6 demo from Kiwami.
youtube.com
He also did one for 0 when it came out on PC and Kiwami.
why was that outfit removed
it's not fair at all
this made me really appreciate the lighting
Yeah, damn shame. At least it's neat to see what they were going for with Ed and Satsuki early on.
>isn't even a premium adventure outfit
a damn shame too, since it's a top tier outfit.
it should've been in the ending when he walks off with the iconic suit sticking out of a bag or something
>scrotum totem
shin news sometime tomorrow, though it's probably just the result of the audition.
i do hope they give us something more though.
I was losing interest in Shin until I played Judgement. Hope we get a bit of gameplay at least. Even if it's tacked onto a short trailer.
>didn't know it was a man
>lost all fighting spirit upon hearing the truth
Hard evidence that traps are gay.
it's already the 10th in Japan
By the looks of things it's really just going to be the audition. Here's a screenshot of the main page's tab for the event and here's what the tab leads to:
ryu-ga-gotoku-audition.com
There doesn't seem to be a stream link on the official Youtube channel or anything.
HEY YOU
EXCUSE YOU?
OH LOOK
NO, FUCK YOU.
my favourite part of 6 was laughing my ass off at nerd Yuya, like I had the fucking pause the game
Can I change outfits? I like the default costume but the white shoes are killing me
Unless it was a translation error, they said new info in addition to the audition winner
please give the writer for judgment a raise and get rid of the other retard
Outside of specific points, nope. You can't even wear disguises in Premium Adventure for some insane reason.
>In Shin you run into Yuya.
>He's beating people up in his nerdy outfit.
>Then Ichiban befriends him.
Or
>In Judgment 2 you take on a side case.
>It's someone trying to pin something on Yuya.
>You help him out and he ends up having to fight people in his nerdy outfit with you.
>game has dating mechanic
>best girl gets constantly shoved into your face, but you can't date her
>game has multiple outfits
>you can only wear them in certain missions
A sick and twisted mind designed this game.
The shoes don't bother me, but I could do without the world's tightest skinny jeans.
WE'RE GOING UP AND DOWN YOU KNOW
WE'RE GOING UP AND DOWN YOU KNOW
Isnt it always Nagoshi?
Don't forget the worst sin of all.
>Can tell best girl you like her.
>Best girl even sounds flustered like she'd be down for it.
>"Haha jkjk"
I was so mad. At least Hoshino has good taste.
Did they redeem themselves after the shit fest that was 6?
In my opinion, definitely. I feels like 4 after Kenzan.
cane man was the only remarkable boss
So are they actually gonna make judgement 2? Isnt the main protag like some big shot actor in Japan or something?
The whole dating part felt pretty weird because Yagami has a cannon love interest, so hooking up with other girls just felt off.
Wait you can recruit cane man?
it's his twin brother you meet in a bar in the champion district
*Yokoyama
It's great seeing Yagami getting his shit pushed in during cutscenes. I was really sick of untouchable Kiryu.
If the gameplay is why you didn't like 6 then yes and no. It's still got the frustrating bouncing block mechanic where you get staggered after an enemy guards but they did introduce guard breaks as well so sometimes the guards break but most of the time they bounce you and it's still just as annoying. On the other hand the styles offer a good way to mix things up, you can air juggle if you know how, there's more Heat Actions than 6 for sure, EX Boost is way more balanced than Ultimate Heat was and runs out quicker even with the upgrades and because the EX gauge is harder to fill even when using Flux Fissure you can't really spam it either, there's a set difficulty and there's almost no way to get yourself overpowered outside of spamming extracts which cost a decent chunk of change, and like other spinoff games you take more damage than in the mainline games.
If the story was what bummed you then yes, it sticks more to a serious but grounded side of things. It still has moments of levity but not as often as you tend to see in Yakuza games and it's way more relegated to side content now and they even put said side content into the main story just to hand you some money and offer a break from the seriousness.
If the performance was what bothered you then not really. On base PS4's it's apparently a bit better than 6 considering the screen tearing is gone as far as I know but it's bad in cutscenes and it's not as good as K2's was for those models. On Pro I feel like I'm seeing way more framedrops in cutscenes than I ever did in 6 but in side cases and gameplay it's a steady 30. Cat Cafe destroys the framerate though, as soon as I get to the floor it's on my framerate tanks to Dead Souls levels for no reason.
we need intros like this to be staple and not just something that pops up if you stay on the menu screen for long enough
Yes
Any news about Judgement sales in the West? They dumped a bunch of extra money into the dub and extra translations, so I'm curious.
only thing i saw was that it reached top 5 for physical sales in the UK.
>”oh look a judgement thread”
>can’t read half of it due to spoilers
I need to finish the story but I’m already 20 hours in and just hit chapter 4 I’m just having too much fun with side cases, mini games and dating.
too bad they didn't put anything into marketing - just sending influencers a bunch of swag
based
can't wait to get some beer and play it tonight
I wish they kept Judge Eyes the name in the west
same
It wouldn't have been a bad move considering they essentially title drop it in the game and it relates to Yagami's character, but I guess they choose Judgement before even knowing that.
>I've always wanted a degenerate mess of a girlfriend l
It won't really make sense for the next game considering it ties to the themes of this game and I doubt the next one would revolve around eyes being removed from people again. It was probably a good call to switch it to Judgment, particularly because the latter implies the justice system in general which Yagami is a part of which would work on any sequel whereas Judge Eyes is pretty specific.
Lame. Didn't even sell a nice limited edition or anything, even though 6 had a massive fucking box and no one was excited for that game.
sega's marketing is garbage
>On the second playthrough everything Sugiura says gains a new perspective.
It's pretty interesting, especially in chapter 5 when Sugiura is grilling him about Okubo and Emi and faking how he doesn't know about the ADDC. The stuff with Kuroiwa isn't really that interesting though, even when you know he's the Mole you rarely see him at all and when he does appear it's just to basically act smug around Yagami.
>i should really sell this bitch of an Exs ring at Ebisu
That one always cracks me up
Dub Yagami > Jap Yagami
One is on sale for $10. Should I?
The Chatter comments are gold. The funniest one to me is just how often you see people asking about if it's normal for it to hurt to pee. How many people in Kamurocho have this problem to the point they feel comfortable asking people on not-Twitter about it?
Can't go wrong with Yakuza games for $10. You'll definitely get your money's worth if you do end up liking it. Just watch some no commentary gameplay videos to see if you like what they're throwing your way though, and know that there's going to be decently long cutscenes and discussion bits throughout. Not everyone's a fan of that kind of downtime.
Yagami is a canon cheater and you can't say I'm wrong.
It's true, the YAGAMI system he gives to the guy at the cafe to get his coworker to be interested's final step is something like "ignore them and don't talk to them again", if nothing else he ghosts on women.
>kuriowa reveal
>don't even remember who that was
But is he also a virgin or not?
holy shit an Always Sunny reference in these games?
FINALLY
Judgment has an insane amount of references, I'm amazed it doesn't feel like Ace Attorney 2 to me.
>Yagami
>imagay
>no music for completing a Side Case
lame
>gay
>virgin

just finished kiwami 2 lads
holy shit what a ride
I hoped you replaced the shitty new licensed music with the original music.
Repeating chapter 5 still has me questioning how in the world is Emi's outburst allowed at all? Not only should it be stricken from the record but it shows a clear conflict of interest in her testimony as a witness regardless of what she says to prop up Okubo's character. Yagami's argument would still work but it would be much harder to explain without another nurse backing him up because he'd still have to prove they enter the room in the nurse's training which is much harder to do with just a picture of the outside of the room.
Even the placement of the witness and how the lawyers are allowed to approach not only the witness but the well without being tackled by a bailiff boggles my mind. How does Japan also not see that having a bunch of judges is way worse than a randomly picked jury? The jury will always be harder to influence than the judges because they're randomly assigned, unless the judges themselves are also randomly assigned to each case, but even then you could bribe a majority of the judges to look your way whereas with a jury you'd have to know ahead of time who got picked and then start threatening them. If this is really how the system works it seems like a terrible way to do it from the outside looking in.
What is the money for?
There are no items to equip or anything like that
Quickstarter.
Buying Hug Bombs for the SP.
Buying food at restaurants.
Buying items at stores, particularly materials for the drone if you don't want to run around town.
Buying extracts if you don't want to hunt for materials (and some get to be in the hundreds of thousands, the highest one I've seen right now is 430,000 a bottle)
Buying chips/wooden tags if you don't want to gamble.
In the story have you pay Ayabe a couple times for information.
Buying stuff from Le Marce for Yagami's girlfriends which are anywhere from 4k to 640k per item.

over a month
so who is best girl and why is it aname?
She looks like someone who'd be pretty spunky and ragging on Ichiban. Considering TGS is in the middle of September I'm excepting that announcement to be "Look forward to our booth at TGS" more than anything else.
>I'm excepting that announcement to be "Look forward to our booth at TGS" more than anything else.
ffffffff
You know it's something they'd do. Look at how long they've been teasing us with Shin information, it's been since K2 was announced if I remember right and the most we know about the game is Ichiban's backstory, the setup, and the girl.
I can't take anymore..
