FFVII is my favorite game of all time, although admittedly because Tifa is my waifu.
The soundtrack is not very good. All tracks have that shitty low quality midi sound. FFIX’s OST is so much more refined.

The tracks are better than 9's, and I much prefer the instrumentation in the original than from anything I've heard in the remake. For one, 9's battle themes are all garbage compared to 7's.

Really not comparable. The Fallout games have great ambient tracks while Final Fantasy has some cool jazz fusion inspired tunes. But you can't complain about 5 second melodies while talking up Fallout's OST. It's literally just short ambient loops with some stock background chatter.
