Is evil within 2 any good? I heard Shinji Mikami wasn't much involved in it which is really why I'm hesitant on getting it. Also fuck Re7 I'll never play it
Is evil within 2 any good...
It's a clear gameplay improvement over the first one but westernshit writing is extremely apparent and painfully obnoxious. There's still some good bits here and there but the game has lost the entire allure of the batshit insane fever dream it had in first installment. It becomes even worse after the first third of the game.
It's good, ignore the weebs.
thanks for saving me dosh
what do you have against RE7?
It's worth a buy and play I'd say. The first is still better. It goes overboard with the muh daughter shit though, western writing as always
>first person
>enemies are only oil zombies+rednecks from what I saw
>literal who mc
It's great AND contrarian
fuck off plebs
Much better gameplay.
As one of the 5 people who played and enjoyed TEW and its DLC, the second I couldn't even finish it (I almost always finish games I buy so this actually means something from me).
The gameplay feels like a step down and the less linear segments are cool but with the style its going for it just doesn't work to me.
I'd avoid it.
If you're itching for an open(ish) world horror game, it's got you covered. Good game if you really like gathering journals and audio logs to learn about the world you're in.
Encounter design sucks.
Don't play it 1st is better in everything way.
>>literal who mc
He's just James from SH2 but more hopelessly lost in his retardation
And he says fuck a lot.
Maybe he's sexually frustrated at his circumcision
i thought it was pretty good, but it's clear Mikami wasn't involved and the first game is better as a result. 2 is still worth playing if you enjoyed the first.
>Also fuck Re7 I'll never play it
that's your loss, it's a great game and is the closest we've gotten to the formula of 1-CV since.
The open world really fucks it up in a bad fucking way. When half portion of the game is unscripted shit and just you going around shooting boring AIs, you fucked up getting the fun out of horror.
I just get really annoyed that the game is centered around ammo conservation, and at the same time the common enemies are bullet sponges who can take a headshot and keep coming
>As one of the 5 people who played and enjoyed TEW and its DLC, the second I couldn't even finish it (I almost always finish games I buy so this actually means something from me).

>I'd avoid it.
It was really painful for me to get through the first game and I thought the second was a huge improvement.
First game is superior in every way. Anybody who disagrees is a casual who couldn't beat it on akumu
The open world also makes it lose it's horror factor, because the AI are on set paths. If you just sprint past them eventually they will give up on following you and return to their path
>he lists why its a great game
It's really not that open world. I put off playing it until it was heavily reduced in price and was surprised to find there were only like 3 areas that were really open and it was never more than a few square blocks.
2 is far better. It's actually scary, it has survival AND horror instead of just survival, and the gameplay is much better. Ignore Mikami dickriders for they could never get over the fact they paid fullprice for the underwhelming and disappointing first game, which tried so hard to be a new Resident Evil game.
Also, fuck you OP, 7 is good.
i enjoyed 2 but i don't see why you wouldn't play 1 first honestly
while i agree that 1 is the better game user, there's no need to turn a discussion on 2's quality into a dick measuring contest. like gee, congrats, you're hardcore man!
only mikami nuthuggers will tell you it's bad. The difference is that it is not RE4-3 and retards are mad as fuck about it.
Gameplay is much better, not as horror though. Decent setting still. Got it on amazon for like 12 bucks last week, might still be on sale.
Because TEW2 skew closer to Silent Hill. In terms of pure horror it's far better than the first one. But both games are great honestly, they just do things differently. TEW2 has a great story but a lot of it is that it expands on TEW1 instead of being a barely connected sequel. It's really great seeing characters develop.
>Re7 I'll never play it
well fuck you then
>those critics
the type of people who are creeped out by trypophonia
don't listen to the ones saying the first is better, when you play both you will see how better the sequel is
some people don't like to play shit games like outlast, amnesia, layers of fear etc
How did you get that comparison?
2 is nothing like those games?
I agree that the writing wasn't great, but the voice actor strike happening during development was the bigger problem.
Westernized.. So, trash.
>7 is good
2 is literally the closest a series has been to a Silent Hill experience. You don't know what you're talking about
He’s referring to RE7.
Where the fuck do I find ammo or resources in this game? I’m on chapter 3, I have to end up running away from those four legged things because no ammo anywhere e
I can’t spoil it but there’s ONE good part about the game and it will shake you. I know it shook me. The combat is okay, there are some interesting encounters including the one I mentioned but that’s all. Like I said, the aforementioned thing saves the whole fucking game until she gets removed. Also don’t get the game on PS4 it controls like shit, I don’t know if they fixed it or not but I had a terrible time with it.
But those games aren't also like fucking 7
It is though, you have to avoid the dad for parts of the game. I liked TEW2 but you can’t deny that parts of it felt like Outlast because you literally can’t fight back in some key levels.
Nigger, you’re actually retarded.
What? Is that not what he’s implying from the games that he listed? That he prefers games where he can fight back and shit? I know RE7 has guns if that’s what you’re saying, it still has that hide and seek shit for the first two hours. TEW2 has that shit too, unless you’re telling me you can shoot at “it” without dying instantly?
The Evil Within 1 is a Resident Evil 4 knockoff for people who think RE4 was good. The Evil Within 2 is a Silent Hill: Downpour knockoff, for people who recognize that was the best Silent Hill.
It made sure we'll never get The Evil Within 3.
Because its not a shitty third person nostalgia blast
Resident Evil 7 is the only actually scary Resident Evil game on account of its superior first person perspective. I notice a strong overlap between weebs and people who think third person is a good perspective for games.
Evil Within and Evil Within 2 seem to produce different reactions in almost everyone I've seen. I can't seem to get any clear consensus about which one is better or if either are even good. Seems interesting.
how so? they dropped hints that there might be more to the story, and unless it sold poorly their new ip might help them make the final game
It sold less than the first one.
Re1 was the scariest and best plebs
the overall atmosphere, setting, and the ost were so good and made it truly terrifying aside from the monsters. Horror games now just overuse or solely rely on gore especially the fps ones. Re7 best Re? fuck outta here plebs
I liked both of them, the 1st one a bit better. The thing is, the first game is a linear game while the 2nd one is a modern open world game, although with a fairly small map and no respawning ennemies.
Nigger what
I really enjoyed it. It didnt feel like an unnecesaary cash in sequel and improved enough about the first game. The story was kinda cheesy but it was fun.
If it was any good they wouldn't have to plaster ratings on every inch of free space
