Berseria is very different from most Tales games in terms of gameplay. Don't worry though, keep playing, kill all optional bosses/code red monsters you find and you'll learn the ins and outs. Eventually it'll start feeling really fluid and fun.

you play one tales game you've played them all. Besides the story everythings the same with the same character archetypes and combat. At least you picked one of the best

The ability to crit will always make physcial attacks stronger than magical attacks imo. Also you should have really leveled luck dude, it affects some magical things like hit and aliment rates

Playing this, and I really get the sense that Momo was someone on the dev team's waifu. Game forces me to switch to her constantly and she's arguably the best character in the game, but I don't want to use her.

Anyway, if the game didn't feel so slow, I wouldn't hesitate to call it the best game in the series, and I've played all the others except DQ, which I never gave a fair shot

Playing FF7 for the first time, beat Disc 1. This glacier place seems to be absolutely fuckhuge and I'm probably going to get lost eighty-seven times.

Third gets memed on way too hard for by Covenant fags, and while they're right about the story and characters being worse than Covenant, it's still a fun game with a decent cast and fun characters in its own right. The difficulty cranks up to 11 though, my memory serves, prepare your fucking anus on those early game bosses.

smt isn't hard once you get it, but it's got quite the learning curve compared to other games. If you come in from standard JRPG's your going to struggle in the first smt you plat.

Put Nocturne on home because I realized I had to backtrack a bunch to get a key or whatever to progress and it is just frusterating after beating Thor, going into the room with the floors you can fall through. Playing old Rance games if they count as JRPGs. Also going to play Digital devil saga 1 and 2 then raidou 1 and 2 and basically all the Megaten franchise games on 3DS as well plus need to finish .hack GU vol 3.

I just started Romancing SaGa 2 not too long ago. I have no idea what I'm doing, and I like it that way.

The plot and characters are substantially worse in 3. It does have the best combat in the series, though, so it's still worth a try.

DQ is the only game in the series I really enjoyed. There were elements of 2-4 I appreciated, but the constant random encounters and long, flashy combat animations ultimately killed my interest. DQ is one of my favorite games in the genre, though.

Medarot R is the first Medarot game to have a full english translation so I'm playing that now. To be honest, it's pretty disappointing so far-Metabee is so overpowered that nothing in the first 2 hours game is close to a threat.

The first disc I find to be really bland and generic, very standard JRPG stuff. The second disc is where all the interesting ideas are, but the problem is that so little of it is actually playable.

Gameplay also feels underdeveloped, like they had a neat idea with the deathblow system but didn't flesh it out at all and so it's just kind of there and feels like it's missing something it needs to be actually interesting

It's an okay game, but I don't even remotely understand anyone who calls it a masterpiece.
