Of course we all know the Azshara cinematic is tomorrow. Nothing I can say about the cinematic itself will convince anyone this is accurate insider information since the cinematic is really predictable with no surprises there.
After you defeat Azshara, though, the world will turn dark before of the rise of N'Zoth and Nya'lotha. Every zone in Azeroth (Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, Northrend, Pandaria, Broken Isles, Kul Tiras and Zandalar) will become dark and spooky, though there's a way to disable it for a bit. This will last until the end of the expansion and will be turned on for all accounts in 8.2.5 whether or not they've defeated Azshara yet.
8.3 is the Dragon Isles and Nya'lotha, two different end game zones. The Dragon Isles has a new medium-sized dungeon and Nya'lotha hosts the N'Zoth raid where we defeat Sylvanas. Baine will become the new leader of the Horde and immediately make peace/practically dissolve the faction beside Anduin who calls for the end of the cold war once and for all.
Xal'atath and Azshara fight on our side against N'Zoth.
The next expansion is NOT Old God themed nor based around the Void. Nor is it that 'Awakenings' leak. The next expansion does not have an official name yet.

The thing with wow is that it's only good right now if you're really pushing content, as in, mythic raiding, high mythic keys and high pvp rating. PVP is ass right now tho, but raids have never been better.

It's more that people are fishing for (You)'s, at least I fucking hope it is, but the game is not even close to fixing the issues it has. And while we can't know for sure the current state of how bad WoW is, there was that incident with an addon that looked like it leaked an estimate of WoW's sub numbers (Mind you not concrete, but Blizzard was a little too quick to put the lid on that) Plus they have already promoted 2 Mounts that asks people to stay subbed for 6 months straight each and BfA isn't at the "end of expansion content drought" phase yet. The state of the game and what they've been promoting doesn't seem to be showing that it's doing well.
Was never a fan of Mythic dungeons, I preferred Challenge Mode way more, but PvE content like raiding, dungeons, ect, mean fuck all when class design is so fucking terrible that even WoD, which already went overboard with the Ability Pruning, meant what content they did had was more enjoyable. Feel free to disagree, I won't put up that much of a fight over it because it's basically a discussion over who is wearing the crown of Worst Expansion and both deserve a swift kick over being such shit expansions that charged more money compared to the good ones.

I quit WoW today. I've been playing FFXIV and WoW together for almost 5 years now, but I've been slowly getting more and more tired of WoW since 7.2. The AP grind and treadmill just feels too much for someone who just wants to raid. I can't raid log anymore and haven't been able to for a couple years because I have to do my weekly islands, AP world quests, warfront turnins, weekly M+ and all that like.
And the worst part? When I'm "done" I have to do it a few months later because of the fucking Diablo style "seasons" the game has now regarding gear and shit. I really wish AP had a weekly cap that could be reached however you want instead of it feeling like you could never have enough. I do genuinely enjoy WoW's gameplay, but its the systems that have worn me down over 15 years of playing. I just logged off mid Nazjatar quests today because I just couldn't be fucking assed doing this shit again - it's even MORE stuff on top of all the other world quests I feel pressured into doing.
Also for anyone curious for a completely unbiased opinion, 5.2 and MoP is peak WoW.

This is the saddest part of my WoW career. I adored MoP but the insane levels of shit flung at it just for the Kung Fu Panda meme really tanked it. Pandaren were the worst part, I agree with that, especially since they could've been great like the old concepts. But the Mogu, Mantid, Yaungol, and Zandalari were golden. We see now that Blizzard is perfectly capable of making a fat yet built character model (Kul Tiran) so then why are Pandaren just fat? The whole playable race is built on this, they're fat so they must like food. Their cooking is increased, they take less damage from falling because of their fat bellies, and they get more from stats from, you guessed it, eating! Their fucking language is even nom nom nom. Base ARR content is up to lv50 and then some dungeons and a final boss, then credits roll and you need to do some more quests, here the story starts to pick up, the quests will get you from lv50 to maybe lv55, which will lead you to unlock Heavensward. I would say you are more than half way.

It's not good. The only decent content is raids/mythic+ like another user said. The rest of the game is nothing but time-gates and rep farms so that Blizzard can keep their skinner box alive. All the classes have been stripped down to the bare minimum so that if you even have a couple of functioning brain cells it'll be simple for you to stand out from the pack of retards that are face-rolling their way through the content. The community has long since been ruined. People either don't talk to each other at all or just shout at eachother like retards in general chat. Even most guilds are just full of people who joined for the perks and never talk. But trying to run content is like pulling teeth since a lot of the people making raids are usually asking for an ilvl that would mean the person would have no reason to run the raid at that point, while they themselves are a shitter and want to be carried. Or you can be a LFR hero if you really want to hate yourself and everyone that plays the game as well.

Here's why that doesn't make sense, the Old Gods are literally the entire point WoW is even a thing to begin with. Sargeras sperged out & launched his burning Crusade to stop the Old Gods from corrupting the universe, specifically a planet with a Titan soul. To not have an expansion focused exclusively on the rise of the Old Gods and end the game with the Void Lords would not only be anti-climactic, but would render everything else in WoW pointless. There is no other enemy more final than the Old Gods/Void Lords, period.
Blizzard absolutely NEEDS to end the game with the Old Gods/Void Lords because they've been the primary threat from the very start. As Asmon has stated, the smartest thing would be for Blizzard to do would be to have the Old Gods actually fucking win & spread their corruption all around Azeroth, ending WoW on a bleak note before making Warcraft 2, which would take place in a post-apocalyptic Azeroth, which would in place lead to WoW2.
Subverting expectations and having the heroes bring about the "end" to Azeroth would actually be great for the game. It'd also give Blizzard a chance to reboot the game properly.

There shouldn't be, WoW needs to end with the Void Lords. They have been the entire reason that the events of WoW took place. Rather than creating a new threat after the Void Lords, Blizzard should do a proper reset, or "Cataclysm 2.0" except done properly, and have the Old Gods corruption spread all across Azeroth for the rest of the game, leading into WarCraft4/WoW2.

Yeah after void lords I would want there to be peace that ends WoW. Get Warcraft 4 which takes place some years after WoW and peace between horde and alliance. And then add either an entirely new threat to disturb the world and set the factions against each other, or make it based around a return of the black empire. And then build WoW 2 after Warcraft 4.

The fuck is wrong with zoomers. I will probably play it but it's going to have that phasing shit in it which will suck. Phasing or laying or whatever the fuck they're calling it today is actually the worst thing they could put in an mmo. It's just an excuse for them to reduce server costs. I've been playing retail and walking around the underwater zone only to get phased into random areas with heaps of horde or heaps of alliance. There's clearly people coordinating to find suitable phases but it seems stupid that I have to join a discord to be able to find a shard that I enjoy. Not to mention all the other buggy shit that happens.

It's not though, everyone at the highest level hates the fucking game because it is so shallow. You have to grind to death to get anywhere. The mechanics on fights are much better but class design is by far the worst it's been and it's not fun at all. Me and my friends are forced to juggle multiple characters because half of them are useless at certain things but godlike at others, yet they all need to have hours upon hours of grinding to keep them relevant. Which might not bother me if the class design was actually good. They know they fucked up and drained everything out of the classes post legion and because the expansion gimmick isn't about spec focus they cannot juggle having that much shit.

There's 3 main reasons why OP's post is bullshit. First and foremost is OP clearly being a Sylvanas soiboi who's trying to redeem her, when she's literally pure evil. Sylvanas is simply a petty evil bitch out for her own good. Secondly Aszhara shouldn't become our ally either, she's the one that caused the sundering of Azeroth by trying to become Sargeras' wife & then swore her allegiance to N'Zoth. She's about as selfish as Sylvanas is. She'll either die by our hand later or get consumed by N'Zoth, that's the only proper end. Finally, to not have 8.3 be a major Old God expansion that deals with how the heroes have literally fucked everything up and played along with the Old Gods plans would be remarkably shortsighted of Blizzard. Old Gods/Void Lords are the final enemy. All the remaining expansions of WoW need to focus on the Old Gods/Void Lords & the players fixing their mistakes of being their pawn.
If anyone is going to end up becoming our ally it should be none other than Sargeras, who will have been vindicated in his burning Crusade. Sargaras, despite the planetary scale genocide he committed, is still less evil than Sylvanas or Aszhara. Both of those Elfs did what they did for vanity. Sargeras did what he did to literally save the universe. Sargeras isn't really evil at all, he's simply extreme in his methods because he fully understands how fucking horrifying the Old Gods/Void Lords are. WoW absolutely cannot end without us in some way teaming up with Sargeras to deal with the Void Lords.
There's no better way for Blizzard to continue this games story.

I played wow for a long time but at some point you really have to wonder if you can keep at it forever. I've already done everything there is to that game a million times. I've done raids in every difficulty, grinded reps, items, cosmetics, achievements.. I've explored countless zones and leveled many classes. I've done pvp at every skill level and had my fill.
Everything they can possibly do for another expansion, I've already done in some capacity, as long as they keep using the same template provided by the base game. That's the truth, wow has simply been squeezed out of all the juice it could possibly give and become a victim of its own success. They best they can hope for is to keep adding shiny new zones and hope that the next time they tinker with the game's systems, they will fix more things than they break and appease the people that cry out at every change just a bit more than before.
There is no innovation to be had, no new exciting and revolutionary social mechanics, because nothing can interfere with what's been established by the base game. The visuals are still vomit-inducing and the armor design is the worst in all of fantasy, the character customization is the worst in the industry. They are still using their spaghetti-coded mess of an engine that runs like shit even on modern computers. They still use those awkward and stiff scripted events with jerky transitions. The combat is still straight out of the early 2000s and hasn's seen any major overhaul. The game is just OLD, it's just fucking old and decrepit.
But we will still not get a sequel or a meaningful update that overhauls stuff because the game is still doing well financially. I'm SOOOOO FUCKING READY for the next thing in MMOs, but they're so expensive to produce and so hard to get right that nobody is willing to step up, we will only get mildly adequate wow clones with some aspects that are better and some that are worse. I love MMOs, but I'm so depressed about their future.
