Hey guys so I have sources that work for Square Enix and they have told me that they are considering remasters of the previous mainline games specifically 1-3, well 3’s a remaster and 1,2 are full 3d remakes.

Anyhow, the first game to be released will be Final Fantasy 3 Remastered Edition with 1 and 2 following afterwards with their releases being combined just like the gba release, and I currently have a test build for 3 on the 2ds, and yes the remaster is coming to both 3ds systems and switch as well as PS4 and Xbox one.

The reason why Square have chosen to release on the 3ds was mainly done to send off the console before its complete support is finished and since Square is a third party developer, both Nintendo and Square have decided it would be a great choice to release.

However, the release for the other platforms have features that are found in the 3ds version as the reason behind this was solely due to making the others specifically the switch, marketable as if this was no the case then both consoles would be competing each other, but the 3ds does have some interesting features to compensate this and are exclusive to the system, more of this will be shown in 3 weeks from now.

For now I can only show the logo on the 3ds (2ds) and I can’t show any further.

3 at least has a good enough story to warrant it, but considering the DS remake was pretty fine I would say remastering it isn't really needed.
Now why the fuck anyone would ever want to replay the piece of shit that is FF 2 is beyond me. They would have to change so much of the gameplay, pacing and story for it to not be utter shit that it very well could be a new game alltogether.

The NES version ff3 is unironically better than the remake. Easily the best nes rpg, nothing really comes close.

Last game to have any good sprites was FFIV Complete Collection on PSP 8 fucking years ago. I would love to have that on console and be done for FFV and FFVI as well
