Why do you hate trpgs? Are you that much of a brainlet?

You just posted the best one. Thread over I guess.
Been playing the One Vision mod. It's pretty cool. Finished up all the routes, went through CODA. Only character I don't have is Cressida, because fuck doing that again, and I prefer the generic necromancer portrait/sprite anyway. Maybe in a year or two I'll play through again with some classes I didn't use. Maybe 1.0 will be out by then.
Any good recent trpgs/srpgs? There's Fell Seal I guess, but it looks like shit.

Remake it once more
I love them. My problem is that I played FFT first and haven’t tried any that surpass it yet.
It’s not the story or OP classes, in this case it’s the individual unit turns that I can’t seem to find. I’m not sure why but every other TRPG I’ve tried has ‘this team goes, then this team goes’. It kind of ends up making them more of a puzzle game where you maneuver your party around the fight gimmick or whatever. I liked individual turns and trying to adjust your per-unit strategy on the fly should shit happen, and the potential of using turns to give other units turns (see haste, though other games have done similar with bards and dancers). FFT is horribly imbalanced when it comes to speed but I like the idea iof slower units or mages being more of a powerhouse but at a turn cost. It just wasn’t ever realized.
Tactics Ogre is unit-to-move.
I enjoy all kinds but it really feels like the genre is dying out. Can anyone name some trpgs/srpgs that have come out in the past 2 years?
FFTA > FFTA2 > FFT
god wars is recent but its shit as well
I am a brainlet but I still play TRPGs. They're my jam. I like using Paladins and White Mages and pretending that I'm a Holy Knight.
Oh shit, it is? I remember trying Knights of Lodis and that was phase based. After that and not liking Ogre Battle very much I never tried the rest. Thank you.
No one here hates SRPGS. The only people still making good ones now though are Larian unless you have the stomach to put up with Disagaea's worthless anime bullshit.
90% of TRPG combat is too slow and boring as shit.
I rather spent time play brainlet genre like moda
TO is the kind of game that seems fun until you go for all the completionist post-game shit. Then you realize how obtuse and grindy it is.
>brainlet
I'll have you know I'm a complete fucking moron and the only SRPG I ever had trouble with was Vanguard Bandits, and that's probably because I was like 10. It's not like they require actual critical thinking.
Put them both on Steam and I'd play them back to back. Like when I was young lad.
They take so fucking long to play.
The postgame isn't even any good. Palace of the Dead might be a slog (even though you only have to go through 2/3s of it), but at least it has some cool story tidbits. All the postgame stuff is actual time travel shenanigans. Completely out of character and non canon. Call me an autist, but I'm all about canon. It did make me want to go play Knight of Lodis though, just so I can get some more backstory.
I love them though
Disgaea and all of the NIS ones ruined the genre. Now all people care about is big numbers and grinding the same level over and over for even bigger numbers with no challenge or actual strategy needed.
Then you get amazing ones like Wild Arms XF that get ignored because it's not Disgaea and actually challenging.
>no challenge or actual strategy needed.
This is rare in general. Even in regular RPGs. I think the key is difficulty. Without difficulty, there's no reason to really learn or utilize the mechanics to their fullest potential. Do you know of any such games? Wild Arms XF has been on my list for awhile. The only thing I know about it, is that it has interesting classes.
I love them but I am unironically a brainlet who can't beat a single one.
Cool art. What game?
SOUL Nomad
Also, if there are no SRPGs that are naturally difficult, what about ones that are difficult if you avoid grinding? Like maybe FFT using only basic classes, or Fire Emblem without exp milking.

See
and fuck off
