Depends on what you want to get out of it

If you're going to learn and improve at the game, as well as meet good players, then yes it's damn well worth it.

honestly? if you're not decent at the game you will get raped, embarassed, and feel shamed knowing you put money into coming out there and paying entry to get into bracket only to get destroyed. if you are good at the game they are awesome because its a giant crowd of hype people spewing memes over everything in the game you could imagine (the one youre playing). i went to mvc2 tournaments alot back in the day and still try to when i have the free time. if it isn't a smash tournament, it won't smell which is great. melee locals that i have been to around my state all smell like shit and have no standard. i re-iterate, if you're good at the game you'll have a ton of fun. if its your first time going to one because 'you can beat all your friends' then good luck and try not to cry when your anal sphincter gets widened. peace out OP.
