This game is absolute horseshit. Who the hell finds any pleasure when playing this game? Thank fucking god I happened to stop playing with 2 minutes to spare to get that refund.
No objectives at all Shit tier combat Shit tier controls Shit tier graphics No voiced NPCs No music besides a 10 second loop that plays every 5 mins Every NPC is a husk and all the same
Even when you try and create your own fun and story like you would in a normal sandbox game, every task you end up doing is so god dam boring. It's like playing a shit version of runescape on single player mode.
I'm sorry, did you get killed while trying to mine some copper?
Lucas Nelson
Its pretty good but my only problem is the 'end game' How the fuck are you even supposed to beat Cat Lon when he has like 100 in every stat. Wiped out like seventeen guys I had with 50ish stats
>t. Narko slut who strayed away from the protective light of Okran You have nothing to blame but yourself.
Owen Stewart
weak bait, but still the game is not for you. It's a pure-ish sandbox game, unlike those that wear it for simulationist experiences.
David Howard
>No objectives at all Welcome to sandbox games, you fucking sperg. You're supposed to make your own objectives.
Never post here again.
Josiah Nelson
t. Fortnite Zoomer
Noah Perry
This game looks like it's more fun to read/watch other peoples stories than to actually play but I haven't tried it yet.
Blake Murphy
There's a demo of an old build and it's also on GoG. Just fucking try it.
Aiden Cox
I'm just not sure it's for me user, I like to have goals to play towards and I'm normally too retarded to make up my own. Like I'll start and then be paralysed with what the fuck now.
Ryan Collins
Go by needs first: find a way to make money and survive. From then, the game should open itself to you, if it clicks.
Gavin Evans
>118 minutes Lol, you didn't even played it. Just refund it retard.
Xavier Watson
Clear out the Ashland domes. There, you got an objective now.
Bentley Reed
As someone who loves dwarf fortress and mount and blade I really wanted to like this game. But as the OP said, it's kind of just not fun.
Elijah Adams
pleb, hating on the best RPG (as in, role playing game not stat Skinner box with railroaded plot) released in last two years.
50 is low to take him down, especially with just one attack slot. get them to 70+ and do it again.
Adrian Morris
DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME
Play RimWorld or DF instead
James Lewis
Seconding OP. The world is empty, there is no progression, no aim, no gameplay, nothing. inb4 hurr durr just maek ur own fun At this point you better off staring at wall and imagining you play good game, you drooling autistic retard. At least it's free. Fucking zoomers, you will eat any shit indie devs put out, ask for more and defend it with your life. You are the second biggest cancer of the industry, right after AAA devs.
Aaron Anderson
>The world is empty Just because you can't find anything, doesn't mean nothing is there.
People only say they like it because of le epice funny YouTube man
Jonathan Diaz
Yeah, at least DF has gameplay and progression, unlike this abortion. DF being sandbox doesn't even feel like an issue, because it has those things.
Alexander Edwards
I like it but it's very clear that the dev got burned out coding the game for a decade so he just shipped it out despite only being half way done and in need a fuckton of polish.
Elijah Jones
Why? Provide justification for your request.
Levi Johnson
why not all 3?
Blake Wright
Those two and kenshi are not even comparable gameplay wise. A more correct comparison would be mount and blade or crpgs
Christopher Perry
Rim World and Dwarf Fortress are for hambeast incels, Kenshi is a game for chads.
Christopher Johnson
It takes way longer than that to get going. Sadly. Even after 2 hours as a new player you're not really equipped to deal with or do... anything really. I think I gave it 15 hours and I still didn't know what I was doing or felt like I could do much of anything with my little posse of shitters. And improving your combat by getting into fights and losing might be a neat concept, but it's not much fun in practice watching your IQ 70 guys miss every swing and then get beat down.
Mods will fix it :^)
Ryan King
>start game >guess I'll just mine and get some money? >it's literally runescape
seems pretty grindy
Colton Cooper
>want to try making a shop in The Hub >start as a tiny robot called Guzlo with 1000 cats >need 1500c for a shack >mine copper >mauled by dogs >need 3000c for repair kit >repair self >save enough for shack >while selling the final copper, see text outside the bar "I'm gonna kill you!" >lone female bandit leader was aggro'd somehow while I'm inside The Hub >guards don't care >don't want to repair again, try to run >Run to Squin, run back, the cunt refuses to give up >guards finally take notice and knock bandit leader out >decide right then I will find a way to recruit this crazy bitch >heal her, pick her up, start training str and ath >find out slaves have a chance to join you when freed >begin the long trek up to UC to enslave her, so that I can break her out >immediately aggrod by holy paladins running 23mph while I'm jogging at 16mph >I've got experience with this >cross 4 zones while dodging this armored relic of holy fury >another paladin joins him, they keep trying to sandwich me >almost to UC desert >notice there's a waystation blocking me with dozens of fucking paladins filling the tiny gap through >charge it >die >last save was 4 zones ago with 2 paladins chasing me >holy paladin rape train round 2 >avoid waystation by chancing the robot spider ravine, barely get by when the spiders aggro to the paladins >reach UC >need higher lockpick to free slaves in market, start trying on locked empty cell >on success, it automatically throws my bandit leader inside >shit >caravans walks in and immediately buys her >double shit >train assassination against caravan slaves for my inevitable snatch 'n grab >steal my slave back >she runs back to caravan before I can free her >steal slave again >runs back >repeat x4 >succeed at unlocking cuffs >she joins me for a hot bowl of gohan >go home together And that's how I opened my shop.
I played this game for about 190 hours on steam and maybe like 20 on pirate. The game really became repetitive after something like 100 hours, there's not much shit to do even if you mod the game more than skyrim. Also the optimisation is garbage. My game was crashing like crazy either because of some mods or shitty patches.
Joseph Hall
how much time do I have to invest until the fun stuff starts? am I going to have to repeatedly do early game grinding to get to the fun stuff everytime I die?
Adrian King
Your main character isn't important. As long as you have a second character, the game doesn't end.
Josiah Kelly
The game is a hamsterwheel of neverending grind. You grind to get up your numbers, the game is laughable easy once you understand that you don't have to tackle content that's far above your current skill level. You are basically going to grind STR by carrying around shit, DEX with cutting weapons, DEF and ATK with prisoners. There's nothing beyond what you initially see.
That being said, for the first time around it can be weirdly enticing, but the game in itself is fucking shallow once you understand the underlying mechanics.
Jayden Walker
You have to really mess up to actually die. If you recruit a single other character, you can have them chilling in safety somewhere ready to rescue you in the small chance that something puts you into a recovery coma while afflicted by fatal bleeding. Also, you can usually tell the things that might result in this before engaging, where you can dump your extra weight and outrun them instead of fighting.
However, 90% of battles usually just end with you playing dead and the enemy walking away. Losing battles is part of the growing process (trains Toughness). If you're appropriately careful, none of your characters will actually die.
Landon Green
Hey hey, peopleKILL YOURSELF
Ayden Cox
are you posting from another galaxy? you're late by couple of years
Robert Hughes
Yeah that's the same feeling I get, that's why I refunded it during the Steam sale. I felt it was gonna be like Mount and Blade, another game where I read all these neat stories and see neat videos of but once I pick it up I just meander around for 2 hours.
Jason Flores
Its up there with my favorite games. Once you understand the game start RPing with restrictions. Like playing Holy Nation where you dont advance tech and destroy all skeles, your objective is to simply destroy the skeleton settlements whilest surviving with low tech.
John Young
>played 2 hours >don't know if want to keep playing and potentially be stuck with a game I don't want to play or just to refund it REEE
Eli Diaz
>Shota robot and thicc half-naked niggress eating gohan together wholesomely
Yes until I spent half an hour on tinkering with settings until I found some magical combination that only slowed shit down for a few seconds at a time Also frequent crashes
Hudson Howard
you could pirate it
William King
>mining copper >got bored >stoll some hemp and sold that instead >can now buy a backpack >eyeing up the large one assuming I'll be able to carry more stolen goods/ore >it says "you can't just fill this up with ore and carry it across the wasteland you can barely lift it" or something
I get that it would slow me down in combat, but isn't the point of buying the big backpack to exclusively fill it with more stuff
Josiah Cruz
are there good mods out yet? i'm saving my 3rd play for a modded kenshi
Levi Parker
Starting out with nothing and then becoming a god, roaming the land with masterwork gear you made yourself, genociding the undesirables. Its a good game because it does not hold your hand and allows the player to play how they please. I am just disappointed that I did not wait to play the game when they fully released it.
I got depressed playing this. Refunded straight away
Ethan Hill
>get to town >steal everything from the shops
is there any reason not to do this? like why would I pay all that money for that backpack I just picked up for free?
Matthew Williams
Food is only a problem if you stick to the middle desert or go deep into wild territory. As soon as you manage to make any money, you'll be able buy food to survive easily. Food can become a problem with very large groups, forcing you to regularly visit shop to stock up or spend a shitload of time at your base farming for high tier food.
Jose Russell
>He wants ez mode
Kayden Taylor
>game need objective hurr durr t. 80 IQ nigger
Chase Myers
>sneaking >save scumming To true mark of a plebeian.
Colton Kelly
I just wish it didn't look as awful as it does.
Isaac Brown
>sneaking yeah, seems more enjoyable to me than watching my man hit rocks for 10 minutes to be able to afford the bag >save scumming I don't save scum - if the icon is blue just take it lmao
Andrew Perez
Stealing is great early on without reloading. Stash your shit, get caught, level your toughness and fighting, almost no risk of dying, level up your sneaking and lockpicking, repeat over and over.
Robert Davis
I kinda get the appeal of kenshi, and I guess it's fun once you get a solid foothold within the world. I would rather play Elona+ or Mount&Blade though. Kenshi just doesnt click with me
Caleb Bennett
>ywn have a shek woman call you squishy, and break your pelvis while riding you
It's shit, I tried enjoying it but autists pretend and imagine a game being fun because they have severe autism.
Jace Watson
I didn't think of it as one until now, but apparently Kenshi is a pretty good pleb filter.
Juan Lopez
This, i suspect they might be shills or the devs of the game because honestly I have played games like the old fallout and various clones but this game has fuck all content.
>Spawn in and walk for 20 minutes seeing no one >supposed to RP nonexistant content >die in 2 hits after grinding for gear to a random bum
Josiah Allen
If I run around with armour on so that I'm over encumbered, does that not increase my athleticism at all or just at a reduced rate?
Christopher Bell
What is with Yea Forums glorifying games with jank mechanics, shit worldbuilding, and "read between the lines" lore? Is it to get some sort've reddit karma-esque brownie points with the other anons? First this, then Atom. Next you'll be telling me you guys unironically liked "Last Days of Gaia" before the patches.
Juan Baker
severely reduced rate but you'll gain strength instead
Adam Evans
Reduced rate. If you highlight your run speed in the extended info on the left side of the screen it'll tell you how much exp you're getting.
Luke Moore
haha so my options are to run around without armour on and get clobbered immediately or to just bulk up strength?
Mason Bennett
Sorry your imagination is about as substantial as your testosterone levels.
Why would you beat him when you can just sneak behind him and knock him out and claim him as the best training dummy in the game
Ayden Green
>Kenshi is popular enough to have contrarian shitposters
It's really easy to get to a point where you can outrun most threats you commonly find.
Elijah Scott
DO PLAY THIS GAME
PLAY KENSHI AND RIMWORLD AND DWARF FORTRESS
I LOVE THEM ALL
Joseph Johnson
It's like DBZ powerlevels. The difference between the two is more important than the raw number itself.
Ryan Sanders
>want a worker to operate the automatic iron refinery and do another task >if i put the refinery first, it refills the refinery after every iron plate made >if i put it second, it only goes to the refinery if it can't do the first task
how do i make these brainless fucks only re-stock the refinery after it uses up 5 units of raw ore?
Joseph Wright
what's wrong with Atom? it's literally Fallout 2 but in Soviet Russia
Luke Campbell
What's the other task? Refining requires constant oversight from at least one or two characters.
Nathaniel Mitchell
you don't
Christopher Clark
My preferred method for combat stat training early game is find a sizable caravan and just help them fight and pick off the scraps of new gear as they fight off bandits and die themselves. Play cautiously while doing this and its the fastest way I found to get to the point where you can hold your own.
Brody Harris
really its just anyone who tried it because its shit
Colton Gonzalez
say I want to be stealing, is it a good idea to stash all my armour somewhere to increase the chances of success? or will somebody happen upon all my shit and take it
Dominic Lee
>who the hell finds any pleasure when playing this game Autists from Yea Forums that got memed into thinking it's good. It's worse in near every way than the other games in its vague genre. Settlement building is boring, the graphics ARE garbage, and the game is literally only half completely and has no polish whatsoever.
It's basically the indie equivalent of Duke Nukem Forever, getting released in a barely functional state after 10 years, only in this case people lap the shit up instead of calling it out.
>user, one day in the future theres gonna be a magical page with 18,000 GAMES on it for sale >and its gonna have maybe 2 things you are lukewarm interested in but wont end up buying
i should of got into serial kiling instead. or crochet. or drawing. any other hobby, really.
Stashing in a chest in your base? I'd say it's safe, I never had anyone steal anything from there. Stashing in some chest in some random house somewhere? Never tried it. I doubt someone could steal from it, but maybe the game just "forgets" about your stuff there and resets the contents after a while.
Luke Perez
either a couple of 70ish fighters or get a single dude in the 90+ put equip him with masterwork samurai and either edge 3 paladin cross or meitou if you can get it from the holy nation and just run right to his face and beat the crap out of him (you will need the free hit he gives you while his getting up from his throne and can't block )
I've just left my medium backpack at the back of the shop and keep popping in without it to do my stealing and then stashing it in the bag
I don't have a base or anything like that yet
Anthony Brown
I had the same problem so I made it an objective to build a kill squad and create a fully functioning town.
The kill squad was bullshit so I ended up cheating the numbers up at the end of my game because it was either that or hours of autistic grinding by kidnapping people and watching a meter very very slowly fill up.
The town thing worked just fine on its own though. After that, there was literally no point to the game though.
Aaron Ramirez
buy a house in a random town it'll let you do safe researching and smithing
Asher Clark
>no voices
are you a literal babby?
Landon Rodriguez
No it wouldn't. Mount and blade is a thousand times funner and has the benefit of actually allowing you to engage in combat.
You're right that's it's not quite Rimworld or DF but those are much better comparisons than the ones you provided. Kenshi is in a limbo where it doesn't really do anything unless you make something of it which is 100% a DF type style.
Jaxon Sanders
>sitting at the back of the shop trying to pick the lock off the weapon case >9.3% chance success >now I'm on 11% chance and up 5 lockpicking levels
wow this is more efficient than the training dummies for melee
Ethan Russell
Can't tell if baiting or actual shit taste.
Caleb Watson
>requires constant oversight but it doesn't, i can load 5 ore, call the operator away and the machine will convert it to 5 iron plates on its own however, if it's his only task, the worker will run to the machine after every iron plate made, place it into the storage and put another piece of ore in the machine
Adam Gray
Man it's optimized pretty poorly which is my big downside.
Austin Martinez
Training dummies are the worst at everything.
Luke Robinson
Just wait for Kenshi 2 goy
Juan Martinez
I was tempted to buy it because it was the closes I could find to Warband. But instead I reinstalled Warband.
If you were to have a child right now, that child would be able to legally post on Yea Forums before Kenshi 2 is released.
Matthew Kelly
Make it mine iron and then bring it to the refinery, so it'll fill up the space and then walk it there But shit gets fucky when you scale it up, eventually you just get dedicated dudes for stuff and ignore the loss of efficiency
