>super AI >can generate and simulate worlds the size of earth for games down to the atoms >extremely fine tuneable (can alter colors of things like dirt, grass, rocks, sky etc. in seconds) >can create areas, characters, or even the graphics by being fed concept art or photos >every single floorboard, wall, table, etc. has a history generated for it, everything will look like it's been subject to some form of age without having to spend millions of hours putting those details into models and textures >properties of the generated universe can be altered easily, allowing for things like magic systems to be made "real" and feel real >VR device that can be used matrix style to put you in the generated game world to play it in vr, where it feels 100% like real life (ability to feel pain is heavily lowered, obviously)
>out of all the possibilities no one makes anything good and we only get waifu fucking simulators until we die >above doesn't happen either, we just let ourselves get matrixed, good job goys, pic related
None of us will be alive/too old to care about video games at that point. But to answer the question, tablets.

So basically Skyrim mods?

When it was 2009 what did you think gaming would be 10 years from then?
It's 2019 and gaming hasn't made any real progress in innovation since way before 2009. The big companies like it this way.
If you think 40 years from now gaming will be that good you need to wake up. Why the fuck would Sony or Microsoft elevate the playing field? It wouldn't put them ahead.
Fun isn't the main objective of tripple A games. It's all politics and bullshit nobody gives a fuck about.
Look at Hellblade Sauna's sacrifice. Dogshit fucking god Awful game and retards "nominated" it as game of the year next to "god" of war. Gaming isn't going forward. It's not going anywhere.
The found tech boom is already over and there will be/already are significant enough problems to keep technology on the backburner for the most part going forward. It's like thinking Mars was surely next in the 70s. Things change.

I blame normalfags. Ever since cod came out more and more faggots have been ruining games by simplifying and dumbing down games. Just look at the elder scrolls series.

in part, but it's probably mainly a lack of competition between AA and AAA studios, top dogs don't like working for their money, just re-release the same shit with the least amount of effort put into it, as infrequently as possible, look at Bethesda, the time gap between their TES releases is ever increasing, 4 years after Morrowind, 5 years after Oblivion, it's been 8 years after Skyrim and the next installment is going to take another 2-3 years at least, and Todd is saying he wants it to last 'a decade.'
if there was no SJW onslaught and 07/08 financial crisis to decimate studios and scare everyone off from innovating, we may have seen the situation kind of calm down

>Todd is saying he wants it to last 'a decade.' Take that as 'hint' that it'll be a games-as-a-service in some way.
