Familiar territory. DQXI is very classic. Kind of a slow burn at first, but it'll hook you big time when it hits its stride and it'll last you a solid hundred hours if you get into it. Very lovable game. Soundtrack is a bit spotty, though. That's a drag. Be sure to play with Stronger Monsters on. Makes you use actual tactics in battle.

no problem. I'd recommend chrono trigger, mother 3, paper mario 64, and the recently brought over to the west trails of mana as well. If you don't mind mediocre combat in favor of story, xenogears and Nier are also nice.

Both PS4 and ·ds game styles, Photo mode, camera improvements, the ability to skip cinematic cutsenes, team members moving on their own, DLC about jade's story, orchestrated music, the ability to change to 16-bit, going to locations of previous DQ games and you can change the dub to japanese. I think there's more, but I'm not sure.
