EDF 5 is gonna be hype as fuck, but I hope they fix the bug where a single enemy can get stuck somewhere out of bounds and there's nothing you can do about it and you're softlocked because you need to kill all enemies to clear the stage. This has happened to me so many times on solo inferno runs

What is there to like? After that shitshow I started to appreicate Insect Armageddon more.
All stages is always defending against enemies which always aggroed on you, AI hardly do shit, story and characters are waste of time. Not to mention all stages are incredibly short.
Hitboxes are fucking mess, you always fall down, some classes are fucking useless like trooper. Those fucking prices which makes you grind money for weapons as soon you hit B class.
I can go on and on, it's simply not even fun to kill enemies, they hardly react on fire and physics don't even work.
Hell, you are punished for using vehicles.
Thank god I didn't buy deluxe or DLC, cause DLC1 looks like hot garbage,

Pretty good, you got ability to dash and dodge along with loading various cores depending on situation (ones which recharge better, other make flying better, third have large energy pool etc)
Tho some weapons now need to be charged before firing, you'll see.

Nice, I was really waiting for that. I hope there is a system in place so that I don't have to replay the same missions as many times as there are classes. I played EDF4.1 in its entirety as Ranger and realized that if I wanted to play the later missions as other classes I had to farm armor and weapons to have a reasonable win chance.

Now if you beat one stage on Hard, it'll count for Easy and Normal at the same time for that class.
Rest is same with 4.1, aka you need to beat Hardest and Inferno as each class
While you playing and gathering armor and weapons, some percentage of that is received by other class.
So for example if you play all game as ranger, rest 3 classes will have already a lot of weapons and a bit beefed armor to go.

Cause Air Raider got probably the best upgrade there is.
How do you feel about FREE gunship airstrikes? Only a half of airstrikes now needs points to call them in.
Still need to reload, but now you are not at mercy of getting enough points to survive if you go all airstrikes

if the architecture is anything similar to 4.1, don't expect much. modders haven't been able to figure out much except some basic weapon characteristics.

Oh you can no, doubt about it. There are cores which increase boost and fly speed.
Fencers also can get even faster than before too. There is NPC squad called Grim Reapers who literally made after people who exploited spear dash in 4.1.

I love this series but how do they get away with rereleasing basically the same game every few years?
They've been using the same sound effects, insect models, animations, and particle effects since EDF1. Only the spinoff games show any signs of improvement but they're always hated by fans.
