Yes and no. It depends on the type of game. But to be honest. The girls in Mortal Kombat have never looked better in my opinion (except Skarlet, but the ponytail costumes fixes that issue for me.) They look more alive and expressed, sure, they may not be as revealing as MK9, but the faces of the female fighters in that game look like shit in my opinion, like an ugly transvestite when the mask is removed. Not to mention, I love the design of Cetrion and the concept of another corrupt Elder God. Gameplay > Sex Appeal for most, unless the game's theme is all around it.

Yes, but a big part of the reason why current games are selling better than ever is because there's never been more normalfags into it. The market has been absolutely massive in the last 2 gens compared to all the others before it.

The key to SK's continued success is its shoestring budget. Those games sell maybe in the 200k range on the best of days but they reuse a lot of assets on most of the games so numbers like that are plenty good enough.

Sex sells but you have to moderate it.
If the product would already sell well otherwise, it needs only a moderate amount of sex. Like MK11 sold well but could do even better with sexy girls. However it needs only a little amount since it is already a very popular product. If you add too much sex, like say Senran Kagura level of sex, to an otherwise popular product, it will reduce sell instead.
However, if you take a poor product (like Senran Kagura), then the more sex the better.
