What kinda shit-ass thread is this? The vast majority of fighting games post-SF2 have meter.

>"new" fighting game
When was the last time a completely new fighting game that was not connected to any previous title came out and stayed relevant?

learn to block you free ass faggot

What kind of shit game do you play that doesn't have one?

wish HF was more popular than ST bros

VERY strange bait. Do you still play SF2 HF or something?

Fantasy Strike

Melee does have meters if you count charged moves like Samus and DK's neutral B

Smash is not a fighting game.

Why? Not enough super meters?

Too much randomness. I say this as someone who was won Smash tournaments and plays the game frequently. It's fun, but definitely not a fighting game.

there are so many good points that you could bring up to say that smash is not a traditional fighting game and you go with "too much randomness"?

Yep. I've played thousands of hours of Smash with my family, and I've been to several local FGC events (mostly to play actual fighting games), and no matter how many entrants it gets, Smash will never be a fighting game in my eyes for just that reason.

>want to buy any fighting game ever
>remember that online is aids
>remember there are no locals near me
>remember that the 2 people I know that fighting games only play shit like SFV and SC
>don't buy that fighting game after all
It's been like this for years now I just want to play fighting games again

>weeb salty that people want to play SF over his niche shite

I don't personally, meters aren't usually charged by the player but built up through other mechanics. Arsene in Ultimate is a good example

your anime kusoge will never be popular, and that's a good thing

>Too much randomness
What's that supposed to mean idiot? Tournaments don't allow any of the RNG mechanics to be enabled.

>cool
>new fighting game
Your post doesn't make any sense OP

>remember that half the game MINIMUM will be sold as DLC over the next several years

I think I know what he means. Stuff like shield and DI make the game "slippery", you can have things that are safe and unsafe on block depending on where they land on your shield, and combos that don't work depending on the other players' inputs. But in higher level matches these things become part of the meta and are very well understood.
