I don’t understand why AA2 gets so much praise compared to CM3D2 or Koikatsu. It felt tedious to play and the character creation isn’t as good in my opinion

No it isn't, not even in the slightest since it's so shallow that you can witness all interactions within an hour or two.
For an actual interesing simulation you play Sims.

I wish I could user but I'm afraid it's 3 seperate characters, AA2's mods are pretty indepth but last I checked (which was awhile ago) there was nothing allowing you to do transforming characters.

Unholy Jail has an english translation I think? Dark tone, defenseless female MC, horrible monsters, it's got it all. Parasite City is also a good one. The bad ends in Iris Action are also pretty god tier. Guilty Hell has some good animation, though I just downloaded a save file since the enemies are all damage sponges.
