It still requires some pretty hard reads to land, copy abilities are still easily lost making it even less worth going for it, and sucking up most projectiles will stop you in place for a worthless 1% heal. They added a cool mechanic where some projectiles can be shot out as stars just like in his games but for some reason most projectiles instead put you in that helpless healing state so this mechanic goes completely unused

Eh, while GSP as a hard determination of skill is bullshit, I'd say in general, aside from spamming faggots, people in Elite are definitely better than people below it, and those just under Elite are better than those below them.
Every time I hit Elite, I definitely feel a difference in my opponents' skill level compared to people I fought to get there.

Go to some locals bud, most people can play Ridley without thinking at all and win. I don't play him at all, for obvious reasons; and I was able to take a local (50 entrants or so) with him. Anyway, it's moot because neither Ridley nor Ganondorf are broken, and despite either's power, they have major flaws. If you want to look at a broken character, look at Pichu, Wolf, Snake, or Joker.

He really needs some approach options and better frame data, and probably more useful specials. Inhale needs to act more like the signature move of his that it is (hell, Dedede's is arguably better at this point), and Rock and Hammer both need buffs in order to be viable for more than cheese. Aerial mobility and decent throws would also be nice.
Honestly if they would revert his dash and Hammer to Brawl he'd become substantially more viable already.

I'd go over all the positives vs the negatives Palu has, but I get tired of writing that out constantly. She has so few flaws gameplay wise yet everyone who plays her pretends she doesn't.

There's actually a LOT she can get off of bombs. But there's a lot I need to practice with them. Using them effectively and knowing when/where to place them is much, much harder than it looks, especially since it makes it a part of your movement. But placing bombs near the ledge is an amazing ledge-trapping tool and it can lead into stuff like bomb > u-tilt, which can spike, or bomb > dair or bomb > fully-charged shot. It's also very much reminiscent of Snake's grenade, since it can also get you out of jail when you get grabbed, which is kinda cheap honestly but no one's really utilized that yet.
Charge shot also has a bunch of different applications, mostly as a combo starter. You can do stuff like semi-charged shot, into dash attack or grab and such.
I really wish they hadn't nerfed the damage charge shot did to shield. That shit was so good.

I don't play Samus, but from what I saw the shield damage nerf on Charge Shot seemed to only knock it back by like 1/8th of the previous shield damage. And considering the fuckhuge Shieldstun on that thing, wouldn't that make it easy to follow up with something like Dash Attack or a tilt?

But in my experience Palutena manages to have all the range, speed and damage she needs to pulverize any foe. As long as she's cautious there's little that can go wrong. Not to mention a tastey teleport recovery that makes gimping hard ontop of a neutral air that cancels just about any other aerial it comes into contact with. And from my time using her I've found her very easy to combo with. It requires some fact reactions but overall if you can pull them off it's easy to hit with. Generous hitboxes without sweetspots or any of that shit to worry about.

Megaman got slightly nerfed from it too. Ironically, the character that uses the most projectiles, snake, actually got buffed as a result of the shield damage nerf, since now he can shield all the time for free, and with spot dodge cancel grenade pull it makes him an even bigger threat.

In a game where nearly every character got mobility buffs & landing lag buffs, Doc got neither of this. Hell his Air Speed is slightly worse. The main way he got better is through a dumb Down B and slightly better Pills but the rest of his kit is kind of similar. Also I don't quite remember what it is about Reverse Aerial Rush ( the tech that lets you throw out Back Airs more freely by turning around and then doing a Back Air ) but I don't feel able to spam Back Airs as much as before with Doc.
He's already plummeting back into Bottom 10 according to Top Players' opinions being united recently, but he's still okay.

Worse damage, loss of kill confirms, and general mechanics going against her. The x0.85 damage output on Short Hop aerials along with staling make her combos very weak in a game where characters got buffed raw damage output for the most part. The ambiguity & versatility of airdodges can fuck with her ability to frame trap opponents, most prominently on stages with platforms.

Nah, I play both and Palutena and Zelda are fundamentally different. Zelda is more geared towards zoning and spacing, whereas Palutena is more of an all-rounder. If anything I'd say Zelda plays more like a heavy character, with invincible B, solid projectiles and powerful kill options. All 4 of her serials are serious kill moves and forward smash and up smash are very meaty.

It's BKB and launch angle changes and the way Balloon Knockback is fatored that made it seem more limited than 4, but now that the meta has developed, you should see clear as day that more characters actually have bigger combo trees, like ZSS, Mario, Pikachu, Bowser Jr, Kirby, etc.

I main Palutena and her biggest flaws are she lacks moves to escape pressure, none of her grounded move have a quick start up other than jab, and that has a very horizontal hurtbox, so it's easy to miss. If you get in on Palutena she will struggle to shake you off and hef options to do so leave her vulnerable.
Another big flaw she has is that all her moves require too much commitment. Her long active hitboxes on everything except literally fair and bair mean that she absolutely has to to connect her attacks or she's eating a punish. Baiting her into making unsafe moves is very effective.
She's also very light and rather tall so she dies quickly to fast and powerful characters like Chrom/Roy and C. Falcon.
I agree that she's extremely powerful and very top tier in Ultimate, but I also feel she manages to do so withouth being outright broken. Hell, I come from subing her in Smash 4 so I also know a couple of things about her nobody labs, because it's obsolete.

It's like he tried to imitate the Ultimate style with the hair and clothes details, but then he gave up and decided to make it psuedo-4 art style with the basic geometry on the shoes and sheath and the textureless scarf
Also, character never has such a minor accessory forefront in their renders. The closest something comes are the capes in Lucina and Chrom's renders, but those are things that are trailing behind them and easily noticeable due to their freer physics, whereas I can see the scarf getting simple headband physics due to how long and disruptive it would look

Items off on a non-distracting stage would be a good starting point to get used to what you need to focus on.
It can be challenging for newer players if theres more than one opponent.
Try one on one.

Isabelle isn't really friendly to any sort of tryharding IMO. To truly appreciate her you have to find the fun of the silly shit she can do and in that vein you can't have winning as the goal of the match. If you still want to main her I recommend going into games with a lighthearted approach. Going moreso for visual comedy than domination might renew your mind and make the pre-requisite of being able to outsmart your opponent easier than if outsmarting them was your goal from the start.
If that sounds stupid then I recommend switching to Villager, or another similar character that is easier to be competitive with.
As for Cloud, he's really kind of fucky since he's very sink or swim depending on if you can land those limit attacks. In that way I think he's harder and demands more consistency than it appears at first glance with his simple attacks.. He's someone you'd very much need a steady mind to get long term results with. I can't give much recommendations for other characters to try off of him because he's one of those that people just default to playing when nobody else seems right. If you don't want to play him anymore, I recommend finding your personality and LARPing as it, playing what it would want to play.
It also can be that the 1v1 format is gay as fuck. Try out doubles, especially with a friend. Isabelle is a shit ton of fun there since your partner can buy time for gimmicky setups and shit.
If there's anything I want you to get out of this post, I think it's that you should try to appreciate the game for more than just victory. I feel like that's something anyone who found Isabelle appealing should know.
