langrisser 1 switch remake

>switch remake

?

youtube.com/watch?v=ZTv3-X69Sew

At least the series isn't languishing in mobage hell I guess.

Replaying Persona 4, this time Gold version
I am right after the new beach event, going to romance Rise.
Game is still fucking great. Probably going to play Ao no Kiseki when I finish Persona. Zero was solid and I heart that Ao is the peak of the whole series

ff vii and lufia 2

langrisser.zlongame.com/

Final Fantasy IX

Suikoden 4, 2, and 3.
In that order.

Breath of the Wild

Honestly its the only game i've ever gone back to replay, its just so good, I love Zelda ^^;

Replaying the mardek series

I guess I should've clarified that it isn't just languishing in mobage hell. Even remakes are a better direction than mobileshit.

>still playing 3DS games
might as well go to /vr/ lmaooo

DQB2 if that counts
>Tfw noone to build with

B-but it's not a JRPG it's an Action Game

I started playing Tales of Phantasia PSX. The encounter rate is pretty annoying.

Getting an HD port to PC, Switch, and PS4 as far as I remember.

I put alliance alive on hold for awhile, gonna beat Radiant Historia, P5, and then come back to Alliance Alive

Nobody liked that shit.
Thank god for games that had ways to reduce or completely negate that.

Koudelka

Lost Odyssey but I can barely hear anything over my 360's jet engine fans.

Mistwalker needs their games available on modern consoles. Too bad they're basically dead at this point

Eiyuu Senki. It's pretty fun.

>not cranking up the volume as loud as you can for the music anyway
youtube.com/watch?v=Ywzw9cHTrDk

AA is getting a definitive edition on PS4, Steam, and Switch

Devil survivor 2
Going to try and get to nocturne tho

was Alliance Alive any good

Heard about that but I already put in like 20 hours.

>hack GU HD
vs
>Tokyo Xanadu
Which one should I get?

Xanadu Next

I'm going back into The Legend of Legacy to try and hunt down a Deathsaur. So far I've gotten a lot of regular Bogsaurs and a few Wrathsaurs, but no dice on the target. I want that Iskander's Woe Axe.
Otherwise I think I may do NG+ of The Alliance Alive because of the NG+ stuff in it, man I absolutely fucking adored Alliance Alive. Going to max the green towers this time, I want to find those rare monsters. Maxed Library Guild last go.
Might finish SMT IV Apocalypse, I'm just sitting right before the choice between Dagda and the friend characters. I've been nice to the friends the whole game but I'm severely tempted to just use all the stat-up items on myself, sell the rest, and then kill them. Or just not do that and turn on Dagda, I don't really sympathize with him much anyway.
Need to start Persona Q2 and Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology. Downloaded the music dlc for Q2 during the free period though.
Probably going to finish off DeSu2's NG+ second route too, loved that game as well.
Man I love my 3DS.

It's a decent SaGa clone, it's very easy though.

WOFF Maxima

Playing through Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen for the first time. Im really digging the game and how unique it is, but it definitely has problems.

Would recommend though.

Good taste

Finishing up Ys VIII. Afterwards I'm gonna stop putting it off and finally play Trails in the Sky the 3rd.

Never played Saga. I might pick this up from a local store.

>Downloaded the music dlc for Q2 during the free period
wait, I have it sealed, because I'm playing other things, is there free dlc for a limited time? Music DLC? What do you do, change the music to the game? Is that promotion over?

Who is your favorite?

Attached: 85.jpg (1280x720, 922K)

All DLC is free with cfw so don't sweat it

Well, I did give Vesperia a start last month, so I'll probably try to continue that. Baring that, there's Octopath that has essentially literally been waiting a year to see action.

Yes to all.

Kublai Kahn and Kamehameha. I wish the game had more brown girls and cowtiddies. Also, JAST's Gold translation when?

in case you need to get all demon source

smtsj.wikidot.com/cheat#toc1

>JAST
Sometime next century

That's fine, I just started playing VN-styled eroge and I have Rance and Kamidori to play through next.

Bloodstained. It's been pretty good so far.

Just beat that game today and realized everything I was doing was being scrutinized by the game. It really sucked out the otherwise comfy atmosphere from the game.

Romancing SaGa 2

Thanks bro

Earthbound

Why would you get this when the remaster is coming out in a few months?

>realized everything I was doing was being scrutinized by the game.

How do you mean?

Finishing up DQ7 3DS and then probably going to try to start and finish Thracia before Three Houses comes out.

Fuck off, I loved Phantasia

Dunno. I haven't played a JRPG for awhile. Maybe I'll start Vesperia.

You get a card that ranks you for things like level (higher is bad) and how many times you saved (more is worse). I was just having fun in a relaxing game, enjoyed the ending. However, my last memory of the playthrough will be getting ranked D and C on bunch of aspects of the game that aren't disclosed to the player as having been tracked. I closed the game feeling like a shitter, or an adept to put it in the games terms. It's not really that important, but I just felt the game was not upfront about being a speedrunning game. I would have played it differently if I knew I would have to start a second playthrough to get the best score. That's just because I'm a neurotic person though; I like to fulfill the games expectations of me.

FFXII on Switch
Played Xenogears and the three Xenosaga's earlier this year, and starting the Xenosaga anime now

Attached: download.png (400x565, 345K)

>lotgh image
Is it worth sticking with user? I'm on episode 20 and while things are starting to heat up I'm still daunted by the 110 ep length.

Noice. I finished it last month.
The Last Remnant. Amazing game. (and Hollow Knight, but that's not an RPG)

Tales of Vesperia remake
I was going to start Zero/Ao no Kiseki pc versions tonight, possibly. Hope the translation isn't too awful for an EoP like me.

Definitely stick with it. 110 episodes is nothing when you take into account a lot of tv shows run for longer than that; they're just broken up into seasons. Just think of LoGH as a 4-5 season show. Its basically the same episode count as Babylon 5.

I started FF1 and hopefully will get done with the first three quickly.

Longest anime I've watched is Eureka 7 which is 50eps, and that also has much more excitement and better animation than LotGH.
That being said I'll stick with it, the animation is honestly my main gripe. The art is good at least, so it only seems low budget rather than actively insulting like some anime.

Giveaway period ended July 2nd for the music dlc

Infinite Space. I love this game to death and replay it every so often. I wish its IP got more content and I wish I could find let alone afford the art book.

Attached: Infinite Space.jpg (1500x1343, 310K)

Final Fantasy Type-0. I'm on final chapter.

>Iskander's Woe is a regular axe in this
>the Cherubim's Grasp isn't in
A bit shocking but the game is still great

Stella Glow, been pretty good so far and the art is really appealing. Wish that they had put more effort into making the MC a little more defined though, since he's just another stock nice-guy bland lead.

They really should've cut out the middleman and made this into an anime. The ship porn and customization was nice but the actual battles were a slog.

deciding between ff5 and ff6

I'd like to think the girls make up for his lack.

I'm going to get around to finishing FE6 by the end of the month I swear it

Attached: hector.png (788x1158, 1.01M)

Sticking with making my way through FF14, almost starting Heavensward. I hear it's pretty kino.

Lotgh isn't really action oriented to begin with, and the animation gets better in the later episodes anyway. For a 100% OVA production, its still an impressive feat either way.

If you play 5, you can always play the four job fiesta.

Kingdom Hearts 1
I know it's an early action RPG, but it surprised me with how clunky it is.
I assume in 2 the combat is a lot better?

Attached: shinnnn.jpg (1664x696, 141K)

Blasted through Ys 7 half a week ago. Now I'm going through Celcetta.

I'm really digging the mapping mechanic, it makes you feel like you're on a genuine adventure exploring uncharted lands instead of the usual "go to and explore dungeons for reasons connected to saving this land from problem x" formula that's been the norm for all the other enties I've played aside from Origin.

Other than the lack of difficulty and lack of characterisation for 7's cast I don't have any issues with the party-based games so far. Both games have been very enjoyable.

Attached: 1556925184887.png (854x840, 811K)

>it's very easy though
Not sure how far you got into the game but when a certain event happens in the game the difficulty spikes high in the game, almost too high as a matter of fact.

Not him but that's more the style of The Legend of Legacy.
The Alliance Alive only really has a "spike" when you reach Daemonia's Area 18, since that's where every single powerful enemy aside from the 4 Devils is, and I guess you could say the castle defense if you didn't pick up Robbins. The 4 Devils are somewhat challenging, but only really ramp up with a high encounter level. Otherwise it's pretty consistent in difficulty.

Strange Journey Redux. At the final dungeon in the main game and just got my asshole reamed by Zeus. Currently building a team to beat him.

I have Xenosaga 1 and Digital Devil Saga, which one to try first?

Attached: 1541379571130.png (659x882, 730K)

DDS will be a brisker experience, even with 2 factored in. XS1 is really slow to get going, and 2 and 3 are pretty much required afterwards.

I got xenoblade chronicals 2 for 30$ on amazon so im playing that

Finishing Trails of Cold steel 2

I got Dragon Star Varnir, and I was sure I'd like it, but it's entertaining. So far it's a little easy even on hard more, and it's hard not seeing all the shortcuts Compile Hearts takes to save costs, but it's entertaining enough. The big draw is this weird dragon collecting mechanic where you eat enemies to unlock new skills and more stats. Adds a bit of depth to a game that would otherwise be shallow.

Was it worth 60? Absolutely not. Anyone know how to get a refund on psn for digital games?

I feel like I boxed myself into a corner when I picked up the Vita versions.

>Suikoden 4
why torture yourself like that user?

Just finished my yearly playthrough of FFX (favorite game of all time). About to dive into the FFXV Royal Edition. Supposedly they changed a bunch of shit compared to the base release, and I hadn't gotten the chance to check out the DLCs yet, so I'm pretty excited for it

I've been really thinking about playing through xenosaga soon, but I haven't heard how well the actual gameplay holds up. Should I just play xenogears instead?

>Played Xenogears and the three Xenosaga's earlier this year
is it worth slogging through Xenosaga 2? I almost finished the first one and heard nothing but terrible things about 2. 3 is supposed to be really good, but not sure if I should just skip 2 and get right to 3.

KH2FM is the best action RPG of all time user, I'd say it's a fair bit better than KH1

Since it's my first foray into the Suikoden games I actually like it.
I know it gets hate but not sure why exactly.

>Xenoblade 1
>Persona Q2
>Ni No Kuni
>Trails in the sky
>Octopath traveler
Which one should i play first and why?

Attached: 1365054207120.gif (170x170, 32K)

>I know it gets hate but not sure why exactly
it is by far the worst Suikoden game of the bunch, so if it's your first exposure to the series, don't let it scare you away.

2 is generally accepted to be the best of the bunch, so at least you got that to look forward to

Trails in the Sky because of Estelle.

Love the shit out of this game. Gotta replay it one of these days.

Depends. Almost all of those games have pretty long runtimes, with Xenoblade being the longest. If you're into that, then go for Xenoblade.

Never played Persona Q. I heard they're good, but there are better dungeon crawler games out there, wouldn't be my first choice.

Ni No Kuni is one of the most charming games I've ever played in terms of worldbuilding and graphical style. It's a shame that the combat sucks so much shit. Literally couldn't get past how bad the combat was once you start getting your other player companions and had to put it down. If you can stomach the combat though, it might be worth checking out.

TITS is a long game with a bunch of other games to play after it. If you're looking for a series to jump into which will suck up a ton of your time, that's the one to pick up. Estelle worst girl

Octopath is like 8 small self-contained stories all in one, but feels kind of convoluted at the same time. The whole 2.5D thing is beautiful, and the music is top notch. Definitely worth a playthough, might not be the first option I would go with out of your choices though. Tressa best girl

I learned about the fuckery the series has gone through, to find out it's dead too.

I also stopped to preview a little bit of 2, and it made me eager to wrap up 4 and get back to 2.
>Combo attacks look better in an older game
good job Konami.

I spent 70 hours in one playthrough. Never got back to it for the new game+.

>Combo attacks look better in an older game
everything looks better in that game. If you're really into Suikoden, I would recommend playing thorugh the first one, and transferring your save to Suikoden 2. There are some extra bonuses and characters you get as a result of it, and the first game is really good too.

Not mandatory by any means, but it's a really nice touch if you're into the series

Just finished my yearly playthrought for Tales of the Abyss and i'm looking for a new series to get in
Should i go for Atelier or Kiseki?

bump

I have been playing Chrono Cross with a guide
just got to the part where you play as Lynx, I've been having fun with the game

Attached: blackmage.png (330x253, 98K)

Kiseki. Haven't played atelier but I've heard it's pretty mediocre while kiseki on the other hand is fantastic.

I'm curious, I've never played Suikoden but I generally hear that the first 3 were superior in threads like these.
What do you think of the game in the OP as a Suikoden fan? It was apparently written by the same man who did Suikoden 1 through 3.

I have often heard the exact opposite opinion with kiseki being described as "it gets good 40 hours in!"

Finally getting around to playing Persona Q2. I bought Death End Re;Quest on the summer sale, so I'll be checking that out, too.

how does this game compare to bravely? not sure if i should get it

I know it's asking too much, but I wish the game would've developed Hilda more.

Rusty is best girl

>already beat Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and all the DLC
>Switch has no other good JRPGs
This drought is suffering

Tales of Vesperia is pretty good

DQV

the theater lady is the final boss btw, another dumb god thing. the theater is basically mementos but for depressed people, and is much bigger than you think.

I played it years ago and didn't like it that much, combat in the Tales games just doesn't do it for me. I prefer turn based usually and the gatcha gambling addiction is the only thing that got me through XC2's action combat.

FF7
For the first time. It's alright actually, my only complaint so far is poor visual clarity in the maps.

I unironically enjoyed 2 a lot more than 1. 1's slow battles, lack of music, and ugly faces made it my least favorite to play, even if it arguably has the best direction and world building in the series. 2 also only took me 22 hours so I see no reason not to play it, just use this guide to read up on the battle system before playing and if you have any troubles with bosses later on:
xenosaga.fandom.com/wiki/Xenosaga_Walkthrough/Episode_II

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne featuring Dante from the hit series Devil May Cry for the first time and blind.

You can wait for DQ if you haven't played it
Final Fantasy X remaster or Octopath
If you wanted weebshit you should have picked up the PS4 desu

Should i get this for half off? The combat in 2 is supposed to be a lot better than 1

Attached: asdfg.jpg (1018x504, 98K)

1. There is a Mobage
2. The last Langrisser game was borderline unplayable, just unfun kusoge. youtu.be/dcLutAup7Qs

Probably picking up this shitfest
store.steampowered.com/app/237890/Agarest_Generations_of_War/

I remember playing it on my old 360 like 10 years ago and thinking it was terrible.

Tell me something I didn't figure out in five minutes of playing. I overthought it and started to believe that Nagi was the owner of the realm, and Hikari was her shadow. Like, Nagi grew up unable to achieve her dreams and Hikari represents all the childhood trauma that kept her from trying. But the story is incredibly on-the-nose and predictable if you've ever played a Persona game, especially Q1.

I have a Vita and 3DS which were my prime weebshit machines but sadly the consoles are not getting any relevant new games anymore and I've already played all the good JRPGs on them.
I just like handhelds user. I completely forgot about Octopath. I bought it day one and got really far in it but something else came up and I never finished it. Maybe I'll restart.

From what I've heard, the reception was a resounding "meh."

I remember buying it full-price with a bunch of DLC because I thought it'd be like Disgaea and the idea of buying full games on PSN was still pretty novel at the time. Worst fucking game I've ever spent money on in my life. Like, just playing it made me legitimately angry.

one of the only things I remember from playing it is how random the romance was
>hey theres a fork in the road should we go >left or >right
>uhhhh right?
>MINUS TWENTY LOVE POINTS FOR GIRL 1
>PLUS TWENTY LOVE POINTS FOR GIRL 2
I was genuinely angry the entire time

I'm pretty sure I have all the character songs somewhere here if you wanted me to upload them.

>I'm going to buy this game I thought was bad even ten years ago

Attached: 1547091492708.jpg (500x489, 37K)

Enjoy wasting your time then, because the only other thing of substance is Akechi's minor character development

You need to play bad games occasionally so you can enjoy good games more
I do the same thing with anime

just picked up persona 5. A little worried playing it before 3 and 4 that I'll never be able to go back to them, but hopefully I have fun with 5 and then 3 and 4 get remasters

now this is a man of culture right here

4 is very easy to go back to if you like 5.
3 has an issue where in the PS2 versions of the game your allies act on their own and have awful AI. It was fixed in the PSP version but the PSP version is missing content from FES and dumbs down certain elements like exploration outside of the main dungeon.
Whenever I get the desire to replay 3 I play the PSP version anyway despite it being gimped just because it's already on my Vita with the best version of 4.

gotcha, so if I fall in love with 5 my best bet is probably to pick up a vita

The Vita exclusive content on 4 is nice but it's not worth buying a new console for if you already own something that can play the base game.

Idk, I always prefer long games like jrpgs portably. I was hoping for a switch port but with that not coming anytime soon and it down to 20 bucks I bit the bullet

I've honestly never played Alliance Alive before. It looks pretty cool, but the leveling system is rubbing me the wrong way from first glance. Looks kind of like FFII's level up system, which I hate

thanks user, never knew about this site. Kind of looking forward to XS2 now

I feel like that's the way it is with all the Atelier games

I would recommend playing through FF7 with the New Threat mod if you have it for PC and find it to be easy as fuck. Not a hardcore mod, but really enhances the gameplay while keeping the story the same

The combat is WORLDS better than 1. The artstyle still has that undeniable charm to it too. I'd definitely give it a playthrough if it's half off.

>You need to play bad games occasionally so you can enjoy good games more
>I do the same thing with anime

Attached: 1465542606524.jpg (1024x576, 162K)

Just started Zero no Kiseki. I'm a few hours in but holy moly this game is super comfy.

Same dude made a walkthrough for the other games as well. I started using it in 1 when I got to the Song of Nephilim and random battles were kicking my shit in, and then in 2 I only used it for a few bosses. 3 is simple and easy enough that you shouldn’t need a guide at all.
Although I did enjoy 2, I should say it easily has the worst story. There’s a neat introduction and the first half has some good moments with Jr. and Albedo but that’s literally all I can remember distinctly from the story, whereas episodes 1 and 3 have tons of memorable moments.
On another note the anime is fucking awful, first episode seemed decent but after that they started making a bunch of retarded changes. In episode 2 and 3 alone there’s
>Cherenkov dies
>Virgil DOESNT die
>Shion DOES begin to crystallize when touched by the gnosis
>Ziggy is totally out of character
Amidst other things, I could only make it halfway through the third episode before dropping it. It’s very clear that Takahashi had no control over the anime, which is a shame because it could have been a viable alternative to playing the first game.

do I need to play any of the previous games to understand the story?

Just playing this. It's made by a western studio, but it's published by Square Enix, so it counts, right?

Attached: Heroes_of_Ruin.jpg (1136x1280, 502K)

Trying to play Zero and Ao before CS3 comes out later this year. Should be doable in the couple months it'll take (I wouldn't be surprised if it got delayed though)

It's pretty good so far. Bit disappointed on the lack of interesting bosses.

Attached: Screenshot_20190705-202559.png (720x1280, 151K)

shame about the 3ds version

Without spoilers, what's wrong with it?

Something wrong with the 3DS version?

What happened?

Being "too anime" is not a valid complaint

the new art sucks, the old art is locked behind a dlc pay wall and the "bonus content" is basically just unfinished shit they threw in
I mean I bought it anyway since I really fucking love the game but I was disappointed with it

I only have the 3ds version. What's wrong with it?

Damn you weren't lying. One thing I loved about it was the character artwork.

Attached: radianthistoriaeruca.png (600x202, 247K)

Just play the game, faggot.

shadowbringers story was quite good
dont know what is next, might do ff8 again or try for something new

Playing ffix straight after vii was a mistake so I dropped it.
Judgment is my GOTY so far. Still have FFX and Berseria to resume on my PS4 from months ago. Haven't started Hack GU collection because I'm having second thoughts.
Going away for a week so I've got Pokemon Perfect Platinum on my DS and Adventures of Mana, Ys 1+2, Akiba's Trip on my Vita to try.

Tempted to play Persona 2 IS since I've played 3-5 but the gameplay looks so archaic.

Been feeling like replaying a DQ game too.

Attached: 1535691876896.jpg (610x686, 76K)

Right? It's not that the new artwork itself is even bad, the old one was just so unique that I can't play without it

Playing through Pokemon Yellow and Crystal on the 3DS Virtual Console. The battle mechanics really show their age nowadays, but the games are much better designed and more challenging than recent shit like Sun/Moon.

>play golden and have more fun than 3+5
>no trouble killing golden hands for grinding
>get to boss after akechi
>can't get past more than 1/2 of hp and golden hands now have lots of annoying moves at this point in the game
>decide to save edit
>unbeknownst to me it makes every girl my girlfriend just from editing my level
>discover this on valentine's day where my date with Rise is ruined
cheaters in both literal senses
it's poetic but annoying nonetheless

Attached: pe.jpg (307x263, 14K)

And using the original art is paid DLC? Damn.

i could fire up my 3ds if you want me to check but its like 3 bucks or something
still annoying

most of the hate XS2 got was because of the character redesigns and the non-brainlet friendly combat.

Game was great. Way better than Xenosaga 1, especially the story pacing and characters.

the price doesn't really matter when most people at this point have cfw
it's the idea of it

DQ11 on PC. JRPGs have never looked this damn good.

Attached: 742120_201906302117390.jpg (3840x2160, 3.63M)

It's like SaGa's. Not really much in the way of grind padding though, kill the Snow King a couple times and you're good.

smt and dragon quest

>most of the hate XS2 got was because of the character redesigns and the non-brainlet friendly combat.
It's really more so the former. Most people who complain about the battle system don't go into detail as to what their problem with it is. Literally 2 tutorials at the start of the game, and they struggled.
I'm going to recommend not using a guide. It's more satisfying that way. Only exception being GS campaigns, since you might want to know what's available to you at a particular time.

It often looks like CGI at these settings.

Actually, fuck that. I think completing the final chapter of FEIV is more realistic.

It's certainly more generic and less distinctive in comparison, but it doesn't look poor quality. They could have done far, far worse for remake artists.

POST YOUR FUCKING FOUR JOB FIESTA TEAMS

SMT IV. I didn't start in July though

Good God use integer scaling, that shit looks hideous.

If it's Japanese style then yes. JRPG's are Japanese style RPG's, not Japanese made RPG's

Ok, whats the craziest most convoluted jrpg that exists, that upon hearing that someone was about to play it would make you reel in shock and amazement
I'm looking for complete package here, gameplay, story, everything.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 (switch cause comfy)
Then fire emblem three houses when it releases.

There isn't a single bad looking woman in this game. They're all 10/10 waifus

That one. I doubt you would last 15 minutes.

I started apocalypse last year and never finished

monk blackmage bluemage chemist

Unlimited SaGa was already mentioned so I'll go with Knights in the Nightmare. Good luck following the story, it can get confusing.

Trying to finish Strange Journey.

i cant stop laughing at their huge heads jesus christ

do i play or skip ar tonelico 1? it doesn't interest me as much as 2

Are the songs not enough hook for you?
Do it for Misha.

Hard to say.

I just got done with the Persona 5 Platinim and the AoT2 DLC dropped earlier this week so I am playing that

play through it for the world building
it does a lot of setting establishment that the later ones don't focus on as much
it also sets up the backstory for best girl in the second

thank you that's exactly what i wanted to hear, i couldn't get a clear answer on if the worldbuilding was consistent with the sequel

Grandia 1, gameplay is baby tier but fun, I'll probably pick up the 2nd one when it comes on Steam.

Touhou Meiiden

>holydragswd

I was using Lynx, Irenes and Harle
the absolute idiot was using HolyDragSwrd on Irenes

I'm playing Persona 5 but I've never been a big fan of the social stuff so I get bored between palaces. Doesn't help that palaces are really short and the game isn't particularly challenging.

I might give World of FF a spin or one of the Level 5 ps2 rpgs. Got both Dark Cloud games and Rogue Galaxy for dirt cheap recently.

Maybe I'll do the fiesta to motivate me to finish 5. I've never made it all the way through.

What next bros
>Lost Odyssey
>DQ11
>Tales of Symphonia HD

third one is kinda rightly seen as the worst of the three, but I wouldn't recommend skipping it either
there's a few choice songs like usual, and it does a bomb ass job in closing off the trilogy
then once you're done that one proceed to play ar nosurge, which is a distant prequel with a lot of shared concepts
I personally find it to be tied with 2 as my favorite of the series
optionally find some way to play ciel nosurge or watch that translated playthrough on youtube

Symphonia >>>> Lost Odyssey (great story, but probably one of the worst turn based combat in the history of mankind) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> DQ11

Started playing the disgaea series with the PC port of 1 and got my butt handed to me by the second midboss fight so I guess I'm doing an early ng+

What's so crazy about it.?

are there any downsides to using the retranslation for 2? from what i can tell it's superior in every way but i figured i would ask

How grindy is Dark Cloud?

mechanics wise retardedly convoluted, there's about 20 resistance types and 30 different stats, the MP mechanic is pretty outlandish too

plot is batshit, there are cameos from unrelated old shonen manga and such.

use it if you're able, it is indeed superior in every way
I think it even includes a few bug fixes, one example being a specific boss attack that most players will see crashing the game 100% of the time
fuck NISA btw

i knew it was bad but i didn't know it was that bad
how can one company be so incompetent?
i hope cold steel 3 will be okay

throw those in the trash and play something better. I recommend Dragon Quest 3 and Final Fantasy 5.

Didn't know JRPG July was a thing, but I just got Tales of the Abyss.

neither did I

not as grindy as Dark Cloud 2

OP probably just made it up

>Estelle worst girl
Your opinions are objectively worthless.

The music in Suikoden 1 puts me to sleep and is ruining the game for me.

It's some Twitter thing apparently.

Trying to find this Deathsaur is harder than finding a damn shiny pokemon

Probably

Tomboy is a shit fetish. I like my girls to act like women tyvm

Playing FFV for the first time.

3/3 dragons down
will try finising it today

>tyvm
>faggot
>hates Estelle
It all makes sense.

Holy fuck someone else is playing this
You're from the other thread right? The one where the user was asking for recs?
Just got my ass wiped in a half assed try at the Green Dragon while I was hunting this Deathsaur.

ff6
fire emblem 4

That same user yeah.
Here I just got destroyed by a random enemy encounter against 6 spell-spamming lamias in the last dungeon

A tip about the Lamias, you can avoid the confusion skill they cast with solid status resist or a Heart Emblem (only drops from the Wanderlust, if you want to go do the queen fight in the oasis area and haven't gotten the emblem I think it's feasible to get at where you are). I couldn't figure out what the icons were on my first go and it was hell going up against Lamias because their confusion skills were 100% accurate.

I just started Legend of Legacy and have no idea what the fuck I am doing. It's pretty fun though. Looking forward to Alliance Alive HD

If you need any tips feel free to ask
It is fun figuring it out though.
One tip I always give though is to savescum the boss at the staircase near the end of the game for his sword, Cherubim's Grasp. It's always worth it, no matter what.

screenshot user here, the best tip I can give you is: the quicksave function is an essential game mechanic, abuse it the best you can.

I started playing tales of vesperia but it feels way harder to control than phantasia. I don't know if it's because of the free movement or because I'm using keyboard controls but I can't combo or dodge for shit. I had to retry this dog thing boss fight for like an hour.

>tfw quicksaving in front of the dragon for the first time thinking I can scum for drops
>red dragon's drops aren't as good as the Black Dragon or Green Dragon

Wait a sec I got that mixed up, the Red and Green dragons drop exclusive items/gear but the Black one drops a special sword that can be find in PVA item spots and some generic stuff like a bangle.

I'm thinking of playing XV. Is it really that terrible? even compared to XIII?

Atelier Meruru NG+ for plat, then FE.

2 is much better than 1, I can agree with it.

What’s the best final fantasy with heavy job customization. I’m less interested in characters just four warriors of light on a adventure and I can decide who I want to take with me.

It doesn’t have to be final fantasy too I suppose just a game with a ton of jobs.

5
the answer is definitely 5. 3's system is too inflexible, BD gets bogged down by the loop bullshit.

Is Xenoblade 2 worth 8k yen? I hated the first one, but got a Switch not so long ago and want to check this one out.

Dragon quest in order
I'm on DQ2
I'm at the volcano cave
Fuck enemies that attack first
Falcon sword is cool

well, this was a disappointing boss battle, the music is pretty cool at least. Time to reset because I couldnt get his sword

Attached: some weak dude.jpg (840x1001, 220K)

No. The only other rpgs that disappointed me more were KH3 and FFXIII. Don't listen to the retarded faggot spamming threads.

I take that back, on the 3rd try to get his sword he went fucking nuts

Yeah that's why he's the best to savescum for his weapon, he's easy and the payoff is huge
If you don't have a water shield up though his fire skill will instantly kill your whole party though

Oh by the way the finale is also easy too, the dragons are far harder. I hear the Deathsaur is on par with them as well (actually more powerful, as he does immense physical damage even through shields) but holy fuck is he rare.

ff7 on switch. i have it on PS3 but i can only move cloud with the d pad, which is atrociously bad, so i need it on another console. finally get to play that beast.

yeah I tried surviving his Blazing Edge with Shimmering Veil instead of Water Shield, it did not go well.

*sunlight veil

I guess that was sort of their way to balance him, idk. Low health and all his other attacks are weak, but if he decides he doesn't like you on the first turn and uses Blazing Edge it's gameover.
At first I tried using the water shields but then I saw how low his health was.
I just went full unga bunga on him most of the time and blitzed him in 2 turns with a quick fire dominance field and Bianca spamming Omnistrike and Filmia spamming Meteor Strike. Remember, Fire dominance doubles phys damage, shadow triples magic, water halves magic, and air halves phys. Offensive magic except for Ball Lightning and a couple effect ones suck so Shadow is almost always in the enemy's favor.

>tried to get the penguin
>too retarded to find the dungeon

You are saying PS1 games on PS3 won't let you remap the buttons? You can do that easily on PSP or Vita. Like you can remap the d-pad to left or right analog stick.

ended up trading Garnet's dignity for a cool sword

Anybody know this game? I played it as a kid but never beat it. Recently hacked my WIIU and having a great time with this game.

Attached: gc_mega_man_x_command_mission_p_wwflud.jpg (300x300, 32K)

Good job user
It's worth it, the thing is by far the most powerful weapon in the game at 66 Atk, comes with fire element on it, and also completely maxes the ice/water resistance stat.

What the fuck

Attached: what.jpg (833x1065, 122K)

>tfw these two games came out the same year
>Langrisser came out several months later than the former
I just think they didn't try at all with Re:Tensei. It didn't feel like Langrisser at all.

It's okay. Not much going on with the story and character development is very sparse. The dungeons all look to same-y and is design like a maze. Character balance is out of wack and the "side weapons" don't seem to matter outside the ones that increase your meter.

It's also on ps4 and I think steam

Hyped as FUCK for this but not much else
