What's the greatest vidya mechanic ever and why is it the double jump?
What's the greatest vidya mechanic ever and why is it the double jump?
triple jump
Saving
god I'm craving for a hamburger now
the double jump is great for everything but platformers
walljumping
For me,
rocket jump
imagine being so fat you look at game mechanics and see food
just american things
Block sliding puzzles.
kissing girls
the run/sprint
McDonalds shills
Hovering > Double jumping
You dont need to be fat to understand that the line nearly forms a yellow M, the actual logo for the biggest fast food chain on the planet. More kids know Ronald McDonald than they do Jesus.
Unless your imagination is rotted or you're a retard or both you should have at least had it cross your mind that it looks similar to the mcd logo.
imagine seeing a yellow line and the first thing that comes to mind is mcdonalds
lose weight
>j-just your imagination
Nice try, but all shills get the rope
It's a been tested that the two yellow arches of McDonalds 'M' are the most recognizable sign ... World-wide.
Even more recognizable than the fuckin cross.
>double jump/float by using your weapon
>get combos for killing enemies without touching the ground
>bouncing on enemies recharges your weapon
so what's your favorite mcmuffin you fat fucks
Rocket jump is what separates boys from grown men.
"B-but it damages my health", kids whine. But true gamers know that the tactical advantage it gives can worth a lot more than the health you lose.
You can just spam double jump whenever you want. But you need to know when to use rocket jump, and execute it precisely.
Use it at the wrong time and you just wasted your health. Use it without skill and you find yourself rocketjumping into a wall and falling down like a dummy.
You can use it to attack the enemy from an unexpected angle like from above.
You can use it to jump across half of the map when carrying the flag.
You can use it to obtain important pickups and items.
Rocket jump is one of the highest skill cap moves in every game.
eat less
This. Not all game mechanics are active mechanics. Saving, NewGame+, and skipping cutscenes are all great mechanics that won’t come up very much since they’re mostly qol mechanics.
Slow motion.
Name a single boring game with it.
>you can toggle the credits into slow motion
those are features not mechanics
I haven't had McDonald's since I was like 10 or something, doesn't change the fact that it's true. But you can keep trying.
Being able to move the character with a controller is the greatest mechanic.
Blinx the Cat was garbage and you know it.
Could McDonalds be behind this meme just like Monster was behind the boomer meme?
The virgin double jump:
Can be done at any time
Has no downside
Consequently, is a pointless mechanic when platforms can easily be designed to be lower, or jump height can just be increased
Makes no physical sense
The chad rocket jump:
Requires ammunition
Also demands a trade off of health, creating crucial dilemmas
Can also increase lateral speed and be used to speed run through levels
Allows for different angles to adjust your trajectory
Mechanic is attached to a fucking rocket
Has roots in the physical world
Vertical wall running is 5e best, fite me
>mechanic means machinery or working parts
>feature means a distinctive attribute
Get outta here with your “game feel” bullshit.
I know for a fact you pulled that out of your ass, because we still have arguments over what these definitions means, because they aren’t exactly clear cut. And there’s no “gamer” school where the definitions have objective understandings. We can try to superimpose an objective meaning to them if we want, but there will never be a universal definition so stop being silly.
>imagine being at game mechanics
Fug, replying to this
>Crash 3's double jump
>Jak and Daxter's double jump
Fucking puke.
